Can you please explain the characteristics of each chainring sizing? Obviously its a gearing ratio change. But can you please explain which would be better for acceleration, and which would be better for top speed. And if there are any other things to consider which would influence a decision for one size vs another
Smallest chain ring produces more torque, or asbi call it hill climbing power. Less top end. Each larger chain rings produce higher top end but you will lose torque on the low end. Depending on if your using a 72v set up it may not be an issue one way or another
It would be nice to know what the diameters are of the different size sprocket sets are when ordering. Also would be nice to know how far the smaller sprocket is compared to the original. That way when ordering the kits , there's at least a better understanding if one set will be too small or too large when ordering. I ordered my first cyc x1 pro gen 4 . And eventhough I would like the larger sprocket set , I jad to go with the smaller one because thie diameters are unknown. Some frames are not straight and have an angle that wouldn't allow a larger sprocket or maybe need spacers.
Excellent video of Chain ring replacement

be nice to know what difference the different gearings make
Well done!

So, I have the 38T (11/63) setup with a X1 G4. To confirm, I shouldn't need a new 215 chain if I'm only reducing the 38T to a 36T, correct?
Yes correct.
I love my cyc just wish there were more spare parts available for maintenance , especially sprag clutches and chains
Reach out we have All the parts in stock . Please email admin@goldenmotor.ca
