I wonder how Bob Ross would feel if he knew how many people with anxiety rely on these videos to calm them or how many depressives use these to feel better. I wish he were alive so he could know.

These needs to be some kind of bob ross tribute documentary of his life...he was gone so early in my life, that i never really appreciated him as much as i do now... and not just his painting.... just shows why the world is the way it is right now....wish i could go back in time and be one of those lucky people that got to send him letters and got to know him... till now, i had just remembered him by his show, his hair, and his happy little trees... but now that i have watched many shows on youtube from a mature age of 29, I can say, Bob Ross is truly my hero, and someone more ppl should get to know..

I was about 2 years old when his last show aired, but recently I was told about Bob Ross and I started watching his videos, and I realized right away that at one point in my life I had actually seen it on TV before. One of those things where your memory gets jogged and it feels like you saw it in a different lifetime. Anyway, I'm no artist. I watch these because they're very therapeutic, and I'm not ashamed to tell anyone that. Watching these make me sad in a way. You can tell he was such a genuine, good person, as well as a truly gifted artist. Taken so young. And to me, watching his videos bring me back to a old world of peace, happiness and simplicity, compared to the crazy world we live in now. Truly special.

    • @_DATA_EXPUNGED_
      @_DATA_EXPUNGED_ 3 роки тому +12

@@adnan_honest_jihadist5775 you don't understand how brains work I guess?
Antiquated ideas like being "weak" because of whatever made your brain go haywire are quite harmful.
Just saying - a few unexpected things and you might easily develop them too.
It's essentially a feedback-loop, a very annoying malfunction of ALL human brains, given the "right" circumstances.
It's not something that can be controlled, as you'd know if you had any clue about human psychology at all. It's the unconscious part of the brain that causes it and the very real bodily symptoms like ridiculously high heart rates.
Educate yourself. Those who call themselves "strong", yet having no clue about how anything works are almost comical, if they didn't cause so much harm.
You aren't strong, you're an uneducated person which imagines themselves to be "strong". Well, you're not. In today's world, education is what counts, not whatever your imaginary strongness is.
Personally, I don't have panic attacks, but quite a few of my friends and family do.
For example my (now sadly deceased.) grandfather.
He went to war for hitler (he was from Schlesien, which used to be part of the german reich. Nowadays it's polish.). Fought on crimea. And was pretty much the epitome of what many would view as "strong".
Yet he suffered from intense panic attacks for the rest of his life due to PTSD.
Turns out, comitting genocide is not great for our brains.
(EDIT: with this I DON'T mean to associate those suffering from mental illness to those fighting wars and commiting war crimes. It's just the personal example I'm most familiar with.)
Stuff like this can happen to you too.
      Maybe a car accident.
Or somebody suffering severe bodily disfiguration in front of you.
Or just your brain going into "fuck you"-mode for pretty much no reason at all.
People like you are holding back the integration of sick/disabled people into society. Which very likely will hurt yourself or your family members in the future.
Quite irrational from that viewpoint, huh?

Thank god for Bob Ross!! If I have a bad panic attack I just watch the master paint. And listen to him talk in his calming voice and the sounds of his bushes on the canvas. He really calmed me down! He had such a beautiful heart!

I got massive sleeping issues because I can’t calm my mind when it’s time for me to sleep (10 pm or later, sometimes 3am….) and these videos calm me down so much that I can take even naps during the day. I listen to Bob Ross and just enjoy his painting, while turning it off a minute later and sleeping without any problems and instantaneous

In case You’re wondering, I normally can’t rest at all. I barely make it so that I can sleep only when I’m tired enough (staying awake for nearly 18 hours or longer) and I normally can’t even sleep at days because I can’t calm my mind. And yes it takes ages to fall asleep too…

***** I just looked it up as well. I never knew there was a name for that feeling either, I just assumed everyone felt it at some point or other. I've experienced it with different forms of stimuli from audio to simply quietly reading. Bob's voice in these vdeos is definately a trigger, then when the end of the show comes and that irritating ladies voice comes on saying, To order this video or a complete, blah blah blah, the feeling instantly snaps, lol.

Bob Ross was the Lord of whichever little worlds he created on those canvasssesses. Sometimes I imagine that I live inside one of his paintings, perhaps in that little cabin right there, and every day I have to sacrifice pigs, chickens and goats to keep him from striking me down with lightening.
