So yeah it weird to dislike something that bob Ross has made cause it's pretty genuine:)

I love how whenever bob was explaining how he cleaned his brushes, he'd always laugh before saying "and you just beat the devil out of it" you can tell he was just a very happy, care free dude

Well, it did, the colour palette always makes sense within the realism spectrum, there's never any fauvism, the tress are the colour trees look like underneath those circumstances
At night with only moonlight and dim ambient light from stars/aurora trees can look bluish-gray. I actually think that this is far more realistic than painting them green.

the Northern Lights are the most majestic thing in the winter. One of the few things that I love about it. and I live in Alaska so I see them all the time.

I can imagine this.. He described it so well. I think of the Alaskan nights, the crunchy but soft snow, the northern lights shining brightly, the old wood of the cabin.. And sometimes i even imagine a person sitting by the warm crackling fire trying to get warm and toasty. I can just feel the coldness! He makes it look so easy.. But remember there are no mistakes, just happy accidents.
I forgot to mention the animals, The moose? For some reason even though he didnt describe the fur i can just feel the fur, the brown soft fur and the hard tan antlers of the moose.

If you watch most of these episodes, you'll find that he used to be a traditional painter and even a cartoonist (caricature style) and that he's painted thousands of paintings by this point. (Easy to believe since he painted 403 paintings for this TV show, plus 403 paintings more for off-camera reference paintings, plus teaching, etc etc)
Trial and error. He probably wasnt very good when he started but with each painting he got a little better until he knew what he was doing and then it became second nature

I always feel like it's my fault for ending in this way, but idk what I did wrong. Bob was a wonderful person. Makes me feel better and calm and sometimes fall asleep. Or in his intros... I used to had horrible panic attacks and watching Bob's videos calmed me down, so back in august I painted this on my wall, and everytime i begin to feel stressed or in the edge of an attack, I look at my wall and remember how Bob teaches us to be calm and happy. Thank you Mr. Ross.
So it's 2:00 am and as I'm sitting here watching Bob's videos I keep falling asleep and have to continually start over. I just can't stop trying to watch them because, in my opinion, they're amazing. Every time I tell myself that this is the last of the night, I end up seeing a clip of another video and I'm pulled back in. I was a young child the first time I ever watched The Joy of Painting and I remember being completely blown away as Bob would take a blank canvas and turn it into an amazing work of art. Even now at the age of 40, I still find myself being blown away by the same paintings I watched him create so many years ago. Not only was Bob Ross a fantastic artist, he was an amazing human being and I feel we were all blessed to have witnessed such a kind soul in action. We would do well to try and follow in his footsteps, spreading love and kindness towards mother nature and each other. In this day and age, we so desperately need more people like Bob Ross to remind us that it's ok to be kind to one another, regardless of race, religious beliefs, sexual preferences or political stance. At the end of the day we're all humans trying to get through life the best way we can and instead of knocking each other down because of nonsensical beliefs, we should be helping each other up and to succeed because of the love and kindness that Bob Ross believed in. Thank you Bob Ross for being you and inspiring so many to create beauty and bring joy into the world as you did. May you rest in peace.

I think i've seen him do stars in season 1 or 2. Used a fan brush with liquid white, and then rubbed it against the edge of the knife to kind of fling the paint onto the canvas. Really great. He also did a painting with just the knife in one of those early seasons too. Very impressive.

I used to had horrible panic attacks and watching Bob's videos calmed me down, so back in august I painted this on my wall, and everytime i begin to feel stressed or in the edge of an attack, I look at my wall and remember how Bob teaches us to be calm and happy. Thank you Mr. Ross.

So it's 2:00 am and as I'm sitting here watching Bob's videos I keep falling asleep and have to continually start over. I just can't stop trying to watch them because, in my opinion, they're amazing. Every time I tell myself that this is the last of the night, I end up seeing a clip of another video and I'm pulled back in.
I was a young child the first time I ever watched The Joy of Painting and I remember being completely blown away as Bob would take a blank canvas and turn it into an amazing work of art. Even now at the age of 40, I still find myself being blown away by the same paintings I watched him create so many years ago.
Not only was Bob Ross a fantastic artist, he was an amazing human being and I feel we were all blessed to have witnessed such a kind soul in action. We would do well to try and follow in his footsteps, spreading love and kindness towards mother nature and each other. In this day and age, we so desperately need more people like Bob Ross to remind us that it's ok to be kind to one another, regardless of race, religious beliefs, sexual preferences or political stance.
At the end of the day we're all humans trying to get through life the best way we can and instead of knocking each other down because of nonsensical beliefs, we should be helping each other up and to succeed because of the love and kindness that Bob Ross believed in.
Thank you Bob Ross for being you and inspiring so many to create beauty and bring joy into the world as you did. May you rest in peace.

God Bless Bob Ross! Such an easygoing but sincere person and I'm certain he was the same both on screen as off screen. A marvellous teacher who died far too early but thankfully his Joy of Painting shows are immortalised on UA-cam!

My favorite scenes he painted are winter scenes, I love all the scenes but I really like winter.

Did he ever do a painting with a starry sky? I think this one would look good with a few stars in the sky.
I think i've seen him do stars in season 1 or 2. Used a fan brush with liquid white, and then rubbed it against the edge of the knife to kind of fling the paint onto the canvas. Really great. He also did a painting with just the knife in one of those early seasons too. Very impressive.
