Thanks so much for creating these upgrade stages type of videos, helps me a lot since I’m new and did not have a clue about any of this yesterday but thanks to you I can now confidently change stuff on my mini Z
No problem my friend, glad I can help you out. These videos are a bit out dated now and I and a little too long for most people to watch so I plan on doing some updated, shorter format vids of each upgrade in the near future but for now atleast I have these up if you need ideas for your build. Hope you have fun with your Z, they can be a bit hard to control in the beginning lol

I hear ya, I still use my Taranis X9d+ for all my drones, helis, planes but haven't made the switch to use it with my cars. Maybe down the road I will but for now I'm still using the trigger radios and I agree owning a hobby shop would be awesome just wish there was more people interested in RC so it was more popular and could actually make some money through these addictive hobbies lol
Fantastic video my friend! Please keep them coming! I've got a slightly modded K989 which is great but I'm buying my first mini z awd so this video helps massively, thankyou!
Thanks man glad I could help you out, I will do a stage 3 video eventually but unfortunately right now its hard to find time with alot going on but good luck and have fun with your drifters my friend.
fpv everthing! you a micro guy too!!! was thinking of putting those magnetic camera mounting thing in for fpving (the ones from those little diatone/sniclo/snt cars). just power it directly from a battery. but your mounting looks awesome too! even better to combat that jello 💪
Yep micro drones was my main hobby for years before I started messing with Mini-Z's. Unfortunately micros are not as popular as they were a few years ago so it's hard to make videos on them to get a channel going so I put more time into these little RC cars. Yea those little magnet mounts seem pretty convenient to swap on and off any miro RC thing, I just have a lot of old fpv parts from my micro drones so I'm trying to give them use where ever I can. To be honest I haven't had a lot of time lately to drive or fly anything fpv as much as I'd like to but I do one day wanna get some fpv vids going again to post on here eventually, just not sure when :/
Thanks man, I preordered a RWD conversion kit for this car that also has max steering so it will completely transform the MA-020 into a whole new beast. I'll make a video of it all when I get it and install everything but it might not be for a month or so until I can.
Thanks man, sorry for the late reply it wasn't to bad I just tucked it under the plastic cover with just enough room not to pinch the wires, I think I showed that in the video as well so I hope that helps.
Thanks bud, I appreciate it. Been a lil busy unfortunately but short answer is I designed them in Tinkercad then 3d printed them out of PLA. The screw mounts on them are pretty fragile so I covered them in epoxy to strengthen them before painting. Went through tons of prototypes
sorry for the the delayed response, yes the R33 has a 94mm wheelbase just like the R34 and i think the wheel offsets are the same so you can use the rims they come with on either body
Yea I am actually, I'm almost done with it and I had to make some 3d printed parts for it so it's taking a lot longer than I wanted to finish unfortunately. To be honest it's been a pain in the ass lol but I'm making it low profile so I can fit my MR-03 98mm racing wide bodies on it, I'm just having trouble finding the time to juggle between it, my MA-020 and the bodies I've been painting.
What's the poijt of camber adjustment when you have rounded tires? You're always gonna have the same contact patch regardless of spring compression or roll.
You don't have to add camber if you don't want to and I don't always run round tires and like the way it performs with 4 degree camber, feels like the wheels really lean in on aggressive turns giving it a little more grip while throwing the back end out. They do make tires that match the degree of camber you have as well which are best I would think. Also, it seems like all the serious RC drifters out there like lots of camber so your question is probably better answered by one of them, I just drive these Mini-Z's for fun. Hope that helps
By force lol Yea if I remember correctly that happened to me on the stock ones, you can stand the cvd vertical on the table and hold it steady with your hand and with your other hand use a tool like pliers, curved tweezers or something similar and place the tips flat on two sides of the top of the bearing and then press straight down the best you can to get it off. Maybe put some spray lubricant on the cvd too to help loosen it to get it to slide off if its really stuck, hope that helps and good luck!
@@AirToGroundRCFPV have you changed it since then? What would you have changed it to if you found other degrees? Building my first ma020 drift spec. Thanks for the help.
@@orsini3569 I haven't changed it yet since I don't think anyone makes them, I could possibly 3D print one but it wouldn't be as strong as metal and I want to keep it metal. I think if you get the DWS rear suspension kit you can change out to a metal piece than can change the toe to either 2 degree or 4 degree, I saw it on wolframrc.com. Toe In is what you want in the rear and I would probably test out 2 degree at first before something as high as 4. Hope that helps and you have alot of fun with your build.
@@AirToGroundRCFPV Got it. Thanks. So neg toe in the front with pos camber And positive camber and toe in the rear? I've been eyeing the wishbone system.
@@orsini3569Yep, toe-out in front and toe-in in the rear. Camber is more useful in the front so it's not as important in the back but it helps the look to match the front. Also Toe-in in the rear isn't as important as Toe-out is in the front so prioritize the front end first then do what you can to the back end when you can. I did find one set of toe-in control arms on ebay but it's like 35 bucks for a set of 3 so maybe I'll switch to them down the road just not that important especially since I can get a DWS rear end for like 40 to 60 and then can't use those control arms anyway so I'll have to decide which route to take when I have some spare funds
