Leo 2A7V is a variat of a Leopard 2 that came out in 2019, but it does have worse beak composite on the hull than Swedish Strv 122's from 1990's.... Yes, having finally a properly armored Leopard with gen3 thermals is great but when a vehicle is adertised with D-tech armor package and the stats are worse than C-tech armor with composite armor multipliers artificially lowered doesn't seems fair.

yep, it should have the same acceleration and mobility as the Leo 2A4. It also shouldn't fire DM53 (phased out in 2004) but DM53A1, DM63 (both these 2 are pm the same as DM53 but more reliable throughout different temperatures) and DM73 (which does have way more pen)
i love that all the 122's get side spall liners but ONLY the 2a7 for Germany gets a side spall liner while the pso,2a5 and 2a6 only have roof spall liners lol
The armor on this thing saved me numerous times. Russian mains were used to just aim generally at the hull. It's not reliable, but you have a better chance of surviving a hit with this rather than the a6
To my knowledge the 2a7V is supposed to have D type armor on the hull which is better than the Strv 122B+ armor which is C type. So why tf has Gaijin made the 2a7v hull armor worse than the Strv 122B+? I’ve tested them in the protection analysis and the 122B+ bounces/absorbs 3bm60 while the 2a7v doesn’t. I really want to understand Gaijin’s thought process cause this is public information

The 61 km/h top speed seems to be a complete fabrication, right on the Bundeswehr's official site is displayed 63 km/h. The reduction of top speed was done by shortening the gear ratios, due to the extra weight of the vehicle. This resulted in the 2A7V actually showing superior agility characteristics to the previous 2A6M, despite its heavier weight.
Oh and in addition, the base armour should be stronger than the 2A5/A6s (and Strv 122 as a result), while the external add-on armour should be the same as on Strv 122, amounting to greater protection over Strv 122. In game however, the 2A7V's add-on armour has a kinetic armour modifier of 0.825, while the Strv 122's has 1.3, for the exact same type of armour. This is obviously made up horseshit.
Justin!! important note about mine protection plate!! without it, it's easy-peasy to kill this thing on level from the front with Swedish 40mm APFSDS on the Strf 9040C (works with B too), there's a tiny sliver of the front lower-plate that is so thin that you can just spam hits through it with relative ease, even at range, this mine plate basically makes this one weakpoint invulnerable. (I kill Leo 2A4s/5s/6s all day with this weakness)
the 2a5, 2a6, and PSO all have turret spall liners in game and at the very least it is historically accurate for the 2a5, not sure on the other two though.
The 2A7 got the transmission changed so it, has got a faster acceleration, but it loses a bit of top speed, which it doesn’t need IRL, but the quicker acceleration is much appreciated
The V in the 2a7 stands for "verbessert" which means improved. True official speed is 72km/h, off road roughly 40km/h. The real version has gen 3 thermals like the 2a6 and 2a7 got years ago. It got extra armor, an AC and a generator so it can function full with the engine off
True official speed is nothing near 72 km/h, this is completely made up and holds true for precisely _none_ of the Leopard 2 variants. The true top speed of earlier Leopard 2s are 68 km/h as supported by the Bundeswehr, and for the leopard 2A7V, shortened to 63 km/h for improved agility (61 km/h seems to be a complete fabrication however.).
For one these [X]-Tech designations are made up bullshit, for two, because they are made up bullshit, D-tech actually refers to the base armour + the add-on armour, for some reason.
I love how this thing stomps, yet German mains still complain about it. They may aswell just open up and admit they want to be completely unkillable and to just run through the enemy team every game.
The problem with absolute top tier is that it requires balancing the tanks relative to each other. Which kinda requires that something like Leopard 2A7V gets nerfed in comparison to real public values or assumptions.
The most modern leopard currently is indeed the Leopard 2A8, the A7V is still quite modern, but there are even more modern A7 variants such as the A7HU. But as of 2023, the A8 which is being purchased by Germany, Norway, and now Italy is the most modern

Well,though 2a7v got nerfed for some reason, it still got a good protect at upper plate that can stop everything even 829a2 and dm53 for most of the time,but for a trade off you have best gun handling and best thermal and best penetration in the game. one more thing is that everybody forget about the missing protection of PSO's upper plate
As a note, I did press zero, but when in first person, so aiming down sight, the option is disabled - you can see that in the video as well. It is only available in 3rd person now. So I was aiming down sights and pressed 0 like a maniac :D
With this addition I have been very happy, finally the front armor plate, but most importantly, a leopard that does have great firepower and good thermals, especially thermals Top Tier for Germany is good again, finally I think we have the best leopard in the game again! Now they just need to fix the abrams' armor
the SEP v2 should have M829A2 as stock and M829A3 as top. The SEP has the same, just replace A2 with A1 and A3 with A2 (A1 stock, A2 top). the M1A2 should have A1 stock as well, and A2 top. but no all 3 (they were designed 2007, 1999, and 1993 respectively) get M829 as their stock round, which was from 1983 and retired in like the mid 90s. also the dozens of missing things the Abrams has, like the spall liner, DU armor, anti-tandem ERA, etc.
@@magnum6763 well, that's sadly the point of a stock round, so the upgrade has significant enough reason to be researched. going from nearly 500 to 630mm of pen is a pretty big jump, and giving A2 as stock would imply also giving the better rounds to other nations, which at the end of the day, would be aiming at the exact same spots. DM53 as tier 1 and DM73 as tier 4 for germany, 3BM59 as tier 4 for russia, sweden doesn't get anything until the STRV 123a, neither the other nations realistically unless gaijin goes for the route of "this cannon can use this round cuz its NATO". Not saying the M1s shouldn't get M829A3, but adding M829A2 as tier 1 is just not going to happen without messing the entire grind ecosystem of the game.
As someone who prefer armor over speed and a leopard fan this tank is almost perfect for me, good armor(would be great when gajin finally fix its armor), great thermal, good gun, the mobility is okay vs 2a5/6 unless in a straight road racing them and still better than pso, the addon armor and spall liner really a live saver
Gaijin and implementing proper transmissions is like expecting a baby to do calculus, it will never happen any time soon So basically vehicles with different types of transmissions other than regular manuals or automatics, like the Type-10s CVT, tend to suffer mobility for no real reason even though the main selling point for vehicles with much better transmissions and engines is normally the mobility they offer at the cost of other things like armor

Funny thing is the a5 a6 and pso do have spall liners but only on the left and right side of the turret and the roof for some reason not sure if thats a bug or not .
To explain the lower top speed, it has a transmission made to have shorter gears, which hurts the top speed but is supposed to make it more reactive, didn't feel that yet but I'm so spaded so can't say

I absolutely dont understand how the new 122 is a ton lighter than this thing. It has the same added armour on the front, and it has a ton more on the hull and turret side. Why does it have better mobility with all that is a mystery to me.

As a Usa main i am happy that other nation receive atleast spoiliners but it's sometimes bullshit when germans and Russia are together teamed up in a match.
While this is a very good tank, it's also highly underperforming in terms of armor at the same time. The turret is much worse than the 2A6 (for no reason other than Gaijin), has armor holes and the hull is missing some 150mm KE.
To me personally 2a7v seems better then t90m, ive unlocked both and 2a7 seems more survivable believe it or not, it is slower but not by a lot, and acceleration is not bad.
Mine protection in WT ? Maybe thats an easter egg of some sort? What the hell I seen not one spall liner yesterday besides the one on the T-90M when did they throw that on other tanks? I must have over looked that one on the Leopard but 100% i specifically went and looked and it wasn't on the new Leopard when I looked. Also just looked and people were saying the Abrams was not showing a spall liner on the forums. But the Abrams have depleted uranium liners so hopefully when I log in today and look they are on the vehicles😉

The spall liner works so well agains smaller caliber rounds, for example pantsirs and 2s38's have had a very hard time killing me

The most modern Leopard currently is the 2A7A1, which is just the A7V with added APS Trophy
The leopard 2A7+ and leopard 2A8/2A8NOR are more modern and exist

You should try the ifv's that have lose atgm on top the turret you can shoot them from the atgm's sight i have been having a blast whit my warrior shoting over stuff

I absolutely dont understand how the new 122 is a ton lighter than this thing. It has the same added armour on the front, and it has a ton more on the hull and turret side. Why does it have better mobility with all that is a mystery to me.

@@lordcurre39 whats not the same? The front armour? No, its not, it should in fact be a lot better, because its newer composits, but for the sake of the argument, its not a big difference. Even if it was slightly heavier, it cant outweigh the added side and roof armour

Problem is the 2 a7Vs armor is very weak in game and irl it should be the strongest frontal hull armored Leopard 2 out of all Leopard variants currently in existens.

The 2A7V is the most modern Leopard yes but it is nerfed in game. It should have roughly the same protection on the front plate as on the turret.
Only most modern leopard in game. The Leopard 2A8 is the most modern leopard, having Trophy APS and (I think) more armor.

I got the 122B+ yesterday, I prefer the PLSS over it.
As a Usa main i am happy that other nation receive atleast spoiliners but it's sometimes bullshit when germans and Russia are together teamed up in a match.

While this is a very good tank, it's also highly underperforming in terms of armor at the same time.
The turret is much worse than the 2A6 (for no reason other than Gaijin), has armor holes and the hull is missing some 150mm KE.

To me personally 2a7v seems better then t90m, ive unlocked both and 2a7 seems more survivable believe it or not, it is slower but not by a lot, and acceleration is not bad.
Its MUCH BETTER lol. Speed, armor, insane survivability, best round in the game. T90 and everyone else who isnt germand and swed is getting destroyed.

Mine protection in WT ? Maybe thats an easter egg of some sort? What the hell I seen not one spall liner yesterday besides the one on the T-90M when did they throw that on other tanks? I must have over looked that one on the Leopard but 100% i specifically went and looked and it wasn't on the new Leopard when I looked. Also just looked and people were saying the Abrams was not showing a spall liner on the forums. But the Abrams have depleted uranium liners so hopefully when I log in today and look they are on the vehicles😉
