    i think Rhaenyra and Daemon immediately fake murdering Laenor to marry each other confirms they’d stop at nothing to get what they want. they were able to fake it with Laenor, bc he’d want to disappear and find love. but Aegon would have been a constant threat to Rhae’s rule. Daemon and her would very likely have him and Aemond killed.

    • @vonbrownYT
      @vonbrownYT Рік тому +13

      Heavy disagree. Rhaenyra wed Daemon only after the continued challenges to her sons' parentage, Team Green winning the biggest dragon, and the Strong-Cole courtyard fight. What she knew is that her enemies were amassing power to take not only HER birthright, but the rights of her kids, and so she had to make allies with Daemon and Rhaenys both.
      The notion that she was somehow fated to kill Alicent's kids is quite literally the consequence of Hightower propaganda and the inaccuracies of Maester retellings. Faking the death of her infertile husband has no correlation at all to Alicent, her only childhood friend and caretaker of her father's, kids. It helped show she was ruthless, yes, but from a reader's perspective this should give a look into her desperation at the hands of the Green's greedy plays for her throne and prestige.

      @@dilakosplays5900 dude pointing to historical precedent for a fictional scenario does nothing for ur argument. I know you don't even want to change your mind, but objectively speaking no one can say for a fact that Rhaenyra has ever been shown pondering/pontificating/scheming on how to k word Alicent's kids. It's all projection from people like Otto, and you, that it MUST be what they're thinking. No concrete dialogue or story cues that the Blacks in the show want Alicent's kids dead. Plenty of citable evidence for the contrary. As cool as it is to know how insecure people are(as they should be) in the face of staging a coup from the true heir, it doesn't give credibility to you or the Greens.

He fell astride a sunfyre and broke his ribs, thigh and received burns on half of his body, was tied to bed for a year, then was forced to flee and hide on the dragon stone. In a fight with Beyla, he broke both legs and lost his dragon. As a result, he took the throne, refused poppy milk to be sober and rule, spent the rest of his life in terrible agony and died at 23. Opinion: I almost feel pity for him because his reign was absolutely miserable. He was unconscious for a good half of it and then the other half he was in constant physical agony and lost all his family members. I almost feel sorry for him but I can’t help thinking he brought it on himself in a way. Surprisingly from reading the lore, he’s not the worst member of the Greens. His mother, Ser Criston Coke, Larys Strong we’re awful. He actually was going to do the right thing but was manipulated out of it. That is where my sympathy draws in because he didn’t want to do it from the beginning and was actually doing the right thing by obeying his fathers wishes unlike the rest of the Greens that betrayed Viserys as soon as he drew his last breathe. In that way I can say he was loyal to his father even though their relationship isn’t much specified in the books. He was probably thinking that in his last moments that if he had not taken the throne then his children wouldn’t be dead and he wouldn’t be a severely burned cripple. I bet most of the Greens in the end we’re experiencing high forms of regret. Especially since they didn’t even win in the end. The war was about which bloodline would come out on top and it was Rhaenyra’s. And to add insult to injury he was betrayed by his own men, not that I feel sorry for him on that, but that’s just pitiful to go through all that trouble to be sold out by your own men and knowing that as your dying your enemy wins because the matter of succession went through Rhaenyra’s children not his. Even though he’s a despicable character, his ending almost makes you feel sorry for him. ALMOST (for me)

    Aegon The Elder proves that he’s no better than Maegor The Cruel and he’s unworthy of boring the name Aegon after The Conqueror. Now his birthright being taken from him is really really what’s being shown in the show and what’s being told in the book, how ever it is his grandfather, and his father’s fault because they had different views on how to ensure peace in the kingdom.
    Viserys wanted a Pureblood Targaryen on the throne while Otto wanted his blood with Targaryen genes on the throne, Viserys is at fault for not establishing the Absolutism law to replace Male Primogeniture and Otto is at fault for creating dissent among the two Targaryens factions and Aegon contributed to it as well.

  • @msg5352
    @msg5352 Рік тому +1

    I really dislike this. Not well done. It's very misleading and essentially lazy; aside from the heavy repetition of the same images that gets very boring, the images are INCORRECT. Using images from HotD to tell the story of Maegor's usurpation is really weird. Two entirely different stories & Aegons! Bad bad bad.
