Fresnel lenses, rigid IPD, no headphone jack and no three charging prongs on the bottom make the Quest 3S a definite no. Rather save up more money and get the much better Quest 3 for $100-200 more
I have the Quest 2 and rarely use it because I hate the experience of wearing heavy goggles, much less having to add 3rd party corrective lenses because my eyesight isn't great. I don't care how good a VR set is, unless they can make them at least 1/4 of the weight with adjustable diopter lenses, I have no interest. I guess I'll have to wait a few more years.
@@MyTechGearGaming entry? Dude, it's a advanced headset, with software support like no other. The zuck playing pong on it really drives the point home how advanced it is. Included is the new batman game.
@michaelbrownlee9497 I meant entry level from the perspective that you don’t have to spend $500 on a quest 3. You now get all the same games on the 3s for a lot less. It’s the lowest price for a vr headset that has everything that the 3s offers.
The Quest 3 has already come down in price, which I think is great. My hope for the Quest 4 (whenever that is) is that we start to see lighter headsets with better battery life - I realise that's a bit of a contradictory ask there, but I can always hope! 😊

So an oled is in the pipes, with a better chip, more ram, and the wrist thing
The pancake lenses of the quest 3 are pretty much the only reason for me to upgrade from the quest 2. The lower FOV of 3S is a deal breaker.
The 3S has a slightly higher horizontal FOV than the Quest 2 (96 vs 90 degrees), but it is not as good as the Quest 3 (110 degrees)
@@MyTechGearGaming Thanks for the additional detail. It makes the 3S more appealing.
@serpentvert glad you liked the video. 😊

I tried the quest 3 and I hated the lenses because it had a weird glare effect
In Australia it’s 700$ (discounted) usually 1000$+ so a 500 AUD for the cheapest option on quest 3S
Your vids are the best man
Thanks so much! Keeps me going! 😊
what ive seen is that the quest 3’s 128 gb isnt actually discontinued but instead out of stock. correct me if im wrong.
They are actually discontinued

big screen beyond fits your description, although much more expensive and is PCVR
Na, cheap enough to be tempting as a throwaway stopgap but I want an OLED standalone headset.
The original Oculus Quest had OLED screens! 😆😭
@@MyTechGearGaming Still using it but my left controller stick has gotten near unusable.
300.......gonna be the gift this christmas.
It's a great entry point for people wanting to try VR without spending too much.

Meta really put the iPhone cameras on the front of the headset
😆
