Just wanted to say I love everything you do, from live events, product reviews, gameplay etc. You are my go to guy and I never hesitate to recommend your channel to anyone discussing VR with me. Keep it up and I hope you never get bored or burnt out because the VR space, for me at least, would not be as much fun. Oh, and I'm really glad you're showing yourself now.
I started my VR journey with the Valve Index. Was trying to buy an HP Reverb G2 but couldn't buy it in Canada without a credit card with over a $1,000 limit which I didn't have at the time. The knuckle controllers with the light house tracking are the best part of the Index. I don't regret the extra cost. Last year I bought a Quest 3 because I wanted the higher resolution panels and the pancake lenses. I ended up buying some third party strap/covers for the controllers so I could wear them more like my knuckle controllers. I still use my Index when I want to get into my PC VR titles quickly as it is always connected to my PC but that may change in the near future when I do some rearranging of my computer space.
Highly recommend looking into the BigScreen Beyond if you primarily play on PC. You have all the hardware you need for it already, and its the most comfortable, compact headset at the moment. The price is a little dear though.
@@temporaltribe I was excited when the BigScreen Beyond was announced but the fact that the headset can only be used by a single person because of the custom made face gasket turned me off of it.
@@JeffreyBlakeney Makes sense if you're sharing your VR headsets. I meant really only for personal use if you ever want something like the BigScreen Beyond.
My Review of this Review. This is a great Review it gets straight to the point it doesn't waste any time he tells you about the head sets how much they cost what the differences are and it's very simple and that's the best thing you do in your Review it doesn't make you watch through a 15 minute slog it gets to the point and that's what I care about.
i watched this just because i enjoy the content. but i was pleasantly surprised how short and straight to the point this video was. im not planning on buying a new headset but if i was this would absolutely help👍
I've had a dream where i was playing skyrim, then i killed a dragon and there was a meta quest 3 inside the dragon's loot, but then i woke up and there wasn't any meta quest 3 by my side.
straight to the point, and tells you the only information you'll actually needs, this is more useful than school. (yes i just wanted to take a jab at school cuz)
That’s… actually surprising!!!! I was kinda sceptical when I first saw the duration of the review but wow! If money wasn’t a problem I’d buy either of those but I don’t know if meta will keep updating the quest 3 or if they will do a weird u turn and upgrade the 3s instead…
During my time with the q2, the install size of games skyrocketed. Admittedly I bought the 512gb model so i was fine, but the limitation of 128gb seems like it could be a problem with the increase in fidelity.
As an owner of a 128GB Q3, I have not gotten close to my limit. Granted, I'm also not buying 2 games a week, more like one every 3-4 weeks and by then, I'm ready to uninstall games I've beaten or lost interest in. We will see if thats still the case over the next year.
I have a quest 3, and love it. But always hoping for vr to grow, so hopefully this sells well, even though i would recomend just using about the same to get a used quest 3 off facebook marketplace. Also love the shirt 😮
I really want to get this but if I fork over the $500 for the Quest 3 I wanna make sure I get the best headset for a good price. If I can save money I want to take it as an option.
128GB is enough but considering the fact that games will have bigger files sizes as we go forward and some games are already heavy (like Asgard's Wrath 2 or AC nexus) the 256gb is not a bad idea, but i agree, you should add a hundred a get the quest 3 at that point. 128GB Quest 3s is fine, but know that you won't be able to have all your favourite games installed, always leave some free space or the headset will start having performance etc issues like any other device with a full memory
Does the Quest 3 still have strap issues that make it uncomfortable to wear, like the Quest 2? Do I need to buy an extra strap? Thank you in advance to anyone who answers!
Yes! It's not as bad as the Q2, but its bad. I have bought the Kiwi Elite, Bobo M3 and now use the Globular Cluster CMQ3 with their new F3 interface and it's the most comfortable I have had set up. But both the Kiwi and BoboVr are good. But definitely go with a Globular Cluster interface for halo or Elite strap. They have both options. The magnets on them for changing them out is game changer.
How about no headphone Jack for the 3s, and no valid possibility to use Bluetooth headphones because of the still terrible and very noticeable audio-lag. No big deal, right? You can always use an adapter to clog up the 1 usb-c port so you can never use headphones and a battery-strap at the same time - great feature, meta!
It's mostly because the Quest 3 phat is still a huge jump from the Quest 2 and the price point still reflects that. Plus, they seem to really value the storage capacity into the price and 512GB is a lot. Still, Meta really needed to launch an economic headset that was on par with their latest tech but still affordable, to replace the Quest 2.
Honestly why did they even make the Quest 3S 256 GB... Like if they sold it for 330 to 350 USD it might be an option but when theirs the "better in every way" Quest 3 for just 500 USD trying to sell a small storage upgrade of 128 GB for 400 USD is a terrible deal.
im gonna buy the 3s 100 gb . the first games im gonna play are the walking dead games and half life alyx with pcvr connected . was wondering if you have any recommended games for me wolf since its my first vr headset
Refurbed Quest 3 - 128GB for about 380$ or less is BY FAR the best deal. The lack of 3.5mm jack on 3S is a HUGE oversight - people need to be warned that quest bluetooth audio is ass!
I bought it just for Batman I can afford the expensive one,but i dont spend just because.....i hope its good enough just for this one thing. Im not a VR fan

I'm gonna get a used quest 3 for 350 euros! Here in Italy the quest 3s costs 340 euros, so for only 10 dollars more I can get a used quest 3

The quest 3 strap is garbage. You absolutely need to get a better one unless your some kinda masochist lol

Definetely yes! AND you cant use headphones (that last one only goes for 3s, with regular quest3 you can)

Am going to get the 3s for Christmas
If it's cheaper a tiny bit worst then the quest 3 reading why not just buy this
There's a lot that goes into it. Fundamentally, the prices are similar and, if you're going to use the device a lot, a tiny bit worse isn't worth it.

mine was the quest 2... then i upgraded to the quest 3... best decision ever.

Curious how that version holds up on PC
It would probably hold up the same as the 3 since it has the same software
I got a Quest 3s 256 for the price of a 128 3s
DEAL!
@ If you get it from Costco it comes with the case and Batman I think. Also comes with Meta quest Plus
The 256 should be 350-370$. I'm assuming an adjustment on the price will be coming soon.
