The French have built a beautiful Helicopter, what an impressive view in the pilot seat of this machine and it couldn't be flown at a better place than the California coast.
I am impressed with the amount of effort Agusta puts into their product to improve current technology. Most but a select few aircraft companies focus on their air-frames and purchase the engines.
Great video. Very nice helicopter. I always find landing a helicopter on flight sim difficult. I notice that you pull back on the cyclic to reduce speed and raise the collective to reduce sink rate ? . I tend to reduce the collective to much and then have a hard landing or crash!
Awesome video! Love the aw109. Just wondering, is the aw109 equipped with a radio altimeter? If not, is there a possibility to add one? Also, what is the effect of leaving the NR on 102% past the airspeed range of 0-60 kts? Cheers! More videos of the aw109 please ;)
NR refers to the main rotor rpm. The A109e and sub models have a 102% switch that spools the rotor RPM up from 100% to 102% for take off and landing, it greatly increases tail rotor authority. Once you have leveled off and in cruise flight the 102 switch should be turned off.
looks UNSPEAKABLY fun!
The seatbelts just make it easier to find you!!!
Brilliant, thank you for this video!
These are used for medical transports too. We have those at our local hospital. AW109s.
Cool. I want my own helicopter!

Everybody gets a piece of the pie within NATO. It's a good thing.
RedButton Entertainment™ the British had nothing to do with it!
You left the NR at 102% for the whole flight.

Under 20 knots or so you’ll lose translational lift, so plan for it.
amazing
start blades turning before finishing fastening your seat belt? Was left seat guy holding cyclic?

É uma pena este vídeo ser de menos de 8 minutos. Deveria ser de pelo menos meia hora. Mas valeu!
I WANT MY OWN HELICOPTER!

it's called FPV look it up
best alouette
I'm not one to be picky but yeah.....102% NR the whole flight :-/
What's this NR business and where did you see that? Something about rotor speed I think but I can read that number nowhere on the dashboard.

To be fair, a 7 minute flight is barely more than a takeoff and a landing anyway...
Usually people that fly this size helicopter actually know what they're doing so don't stress about the 102% NR for the whole five minutes of flight.
Where is doctor Grant??
How does one get the privilege of lying in one of these?
How engine shutdown???
What tour company is this?
is that a hospital bracelet on the pilots wrist...no thanks
+delo1960 Looks more like a security wristband to access a venue more than a medialert.
