I blame Disney for indoctrinating children that wild animals are just like humans. Now those children are grown up with their unrealistic view of nature, combined with a sense of entitlement. Better to have read “Four Years in the Rockies: Or, The Adventures of Isaac P. Rose” as a kid than having watched Fern Gully or similar tripe.

This is not Disney’s fault. Put the blame where it belongs. I grew up with Disney. My son grew up with Disney. We also taught our son to not mess with wild animals. Watching the Lion King would not have inspired him to jump the Lion enclosure at our local zoo and go play with the kitties. Idiocy and lack of proper PARENTING leads to that kind of behavior.

I was in Denali, Alaska in the late summer of 2012 and the day before I got there was the first tourist who had been killed in the park by a grizzly bear. The man in his early 40's saw the bear along a streambed and in order to get a better picture he approached closer and closer to the bear approaching within yards. The last picture he took showed the bear with his ears tucked back just before he charged and killed the man and subsequently took him off to devour him and cache his corpse. The next day when the Rangers approached the bear around the man's corpse the bear was territorial and had to be killed. The video is on You Tube. Too many people are also trying to get that "selfie" of them around a wild animal, and as they say unfortunately a lot of people seem to leave their brains at home when they go on a vacation.
