BTW. I’ve got a very smaller than average wrist. The 44mm fits me just right, and I don’t mind the height of the watch. The entire case of the watch adds character which you don’t commonly find on most watches. The curvature of the body is artistic to my eyes, and it drew me to purchasing the watch. As to the sandstone dial I find it reminds me of a glimpse into space, and I find it really attractive. Deep Blue has discounted these watches for the holidays. And if you purchase them on the DB website your not charged tax, which is another savings. Your only charged $9.99 for shipping. It’s a smart buy for a diver’s watch. Thank you for this glorious review!
I have an older Deep Blue Pro Tac 1k, I have used this as my EDC watch for 7+ yrs. I'm tough on my watch, bumped & banged it up, got it wet may times, worked construction/drywall very dusty & worked concert security with this watch on. All in all it's taken a beating. Only scratches it has is on the aluminum bezel insert. I like Deep Blue so much that I just bought two Master 1000 Gen II 44mm watches with lumed ceramic bezel. NH35 is nice but wished it was done with NH36 instead. Day/Date does help me as I work night now & sometimes forget what day it is. The grind of working for a living.
I actually really like the dial. I like how it looks like sandpaper but is glossy at the same time. Not too huge a fan of the bulbous case, but over all looks like a really good value.
I have a Deep Blue Master 1000 and Jugg 4. Love both of them and wear them often. Lots of wrist presence and very comfortable. Great quality for the price point. Love the dial in this video and look forward to buying the master 1000 blue sandstone on beads of rice.

Great review. I may have to pull the trigger on this one. The Diver 1000 Gen2 40ish MM with RED ABALONE DIAL is calling my name. Thanks again for the excellent review.
I just ordered a Deep Blue T100 Tritium watch with a silicone strap! So we'll see how the order process works and hopefully I'll be trying out a new watch soon. Thanks for the review! Mine will be a little different but obviously pretty similar. On paper at least it ticks off all the boxes for what I'm looking for (tritium, good water resistance, durable, attractive, decent strap, decent build quality, etc).
Bought a Master 1000 6 days ago. Great watch in my subjective opinion. All in all your review gives a great objective perspective on this neat watch. Thanks Shane, for another great review! Yours Hendrik
I just purchased a Master 1000 Gen 2. The watch is flawless and operates perfectly. I enjoyed it so much I went back and purchased a Juggernaut with a Jubilee bracelet and the Swiss movement. The bracelet increased the watch by $50, not $80. It shipped the next day. Who produces a quality watch with a 1k depth for $119 for the Master 1k? Deep Blue that’s who.
I like this dial, very interesting. I bought a Diver 1000 40mm and was glad I chose that over the 44 due to the bulk. It looks the business, especially on any number of NATOs and after market straps. Didn't care too much for the rubber strap it came with. The helium escape valve does protrude and the lume is very disappointing especially for a dive watch. I actually modded mine by replacing the hands with Omega Planet Ocean-esq ones which transforms the whole watch.
I have one of there 40mm’s, I love it, took it to Hawaii snorkeling, such a joy….. the down side is that it keeps HORRIBLE time ahaha, like I swear it’s always off by 5 min! I’ll have some one regulate it for me at some point. But a really fun watch!
One of the least expensive, but most accurate and comfortable watches I own. It wears smaller than the case size suggests and just “fits”. I love this watch and own three, EXCEPT for the pointless helium valve (no big deal) and these two things - First, lume. Lume is weak and fades fast on all of mine. It’s terrible, but may be better on newer versions. Second and even more irritating is the hour hand. For some reason, designers thought it would be cute to take a watch with bad low light visibility and make the hour hand thinner, with even less lume, than the minute hand ! The hour hand vanishes in low light. Two of my three versions were sold by previous owners because of that hand. I thought it wasn’t a big deal and bought them. Well, It is ! Add a hour hand that matches the minute hand width and it’s an almost perfect watch IMO. Good review !
Thanks Shane for another great review. My Deep Blue Diver 1000 with RED ABALONE SHELL DIAL and STAINLESS STEEL ENGINEER BRACELET arrived a few days ago. This watch is spectacular to look at. I order my watches with a bracelet when the option is available. In most cases it is cheaper than buying the bracelet separately. I can always change to a different strap option if I want later. The only down side is the pin and collar system that holds the bracelet together. OMG! it took me the better part of an hour to size this one. Yeah I absolutely hate the pin and collar fastening system but as far as the rest of the watch goes it is a keeper for sure. I'll try to get some pictures up on Instagram when I have a minute because the Red Abalone dial is just beautiful I'm looking at that Great Wall for my February watch purchase but we'll have to see is anything else catches my eye before then. Thanks again for a great review. Cheers!
The deep blue looks like a nice watch. Alittle rough looking with the bracelet on it but it still looks like a good looking watch. A really great price for a watch that is rated to 300m. It is definitely a watch that can take some abuse. I like it. If they can refine it alittle more they will make this even better than what it already is.this watch would be good for someone like me who is alittle hard on watches.
Anyone looking at their 44mm gen 2 and thinking it looks too big these days, like me... needs to put it on a 24mm borealis dive strap. I know the lugs are only 22mm, but I have both 22 & 24mm straps and the 24mm's width looks amazing with the 44mm master gen 2... it makes the watch look and feel smaller once it's off the steel bracelet. I have to remind myself to try a rubber strap or nato BEFORE i go nuts and sell the watch or try to buy the smaller version on the same watch. it's a good trick that I have done before, it works. I love my master 1000 again.
Not bad for the price. I got mine a day ago and wore it for one full day. Woke up to find the AR coating scratched. Not a big deal considering I’m not easy on my watches.
Deep Blue seem to be one of those 'other' brands that get suggested on sites like Amazon when your browsing watches. I've cursory browsed them in the past. This seems like a great watch to me for the price . Sapphire, Seiko, 300m ww. And that dial is unique. Cool watch thanks for the review.
Deep Blue Master 1000 are the most affordable Deep Blue automatics, together with the diver 1000. All other automatic models are priced higher. I own the Master 1000, the Sun Diver, the DayNight and the Alpha Marine 500.
Thanks for the insight on the Deep Blue,,u answered a few questions I had ,I’ve own a juggernaut for a while now,luv it! Now wanting the 1000 40mm ,even though the lugs turn down like they do ,believe it will still fit a larger wrist very comfortably..
I like the sandstone dial, and the price is great. I definitely need to get one for myself. I wish it wasn't so thick and didn't have that escape valve. But still a great looking watch.
Like you said at the beginning, there are actually a few people in the world who will use the helium release valve. But I have yet to see a watch where the helium release valve didn’t throw off the symmetry of the case. For about $150, with that blue sandstone dial, I’d buy that watch in a second if it wasn’t for the valve on the side of the case.
Your right about the strap change. Its a royal pain in arse to get strap back on. You would think after all this time and the amt of complaints Ive read, and having several deep blues myself, the company would do something about it. Anyway, I like the watch except for the thicknesses
I'm trying to decide between bracelet or strap. Would you say the bracelet is worth the ~$50 more? Or could I buy a better one with that money and keep the strap?
That sandstone dial is fantastic. It is a little chunky and not a fan of the very big crown. There are a number of good value dive watches about at the moment. But at under $150 (with the discount) if you want something different to the norm it's a great shout. If I wasn't getting rid of most of my watches I think it would be quite high up on my list. Great review of a quite nice different watch
Nice review, I’ve been looking at this brand for some time, but like you others seem to come to the top of my list first. I would like them to offer a similar diver without the helium escape valve.
Don't buy DeepBlue watches. They are not reliable. Had to send one in for repair. After paying for the return fee, they've had it for over 6 months. No one answers calls, emails or anything. Stay away from Deep Blue.
I own two Deep Blue's that are amazing with their Seiko Movements. One was even modified to look more like a Seiko SKX by a You-tube Horology Legend. "Crystal at AWC." This sandstone dial sure looks amazing. Love the Deep Blues, Great review and thanks for sharing.
@@RelativeTime Yup! It was Masters 1000. The blue in the dial was amazing. The original hands looked like crap. One was skinny white and the other was fat orange. These sks hands are perfect and look like a dream Seiko skx come true. My favorite watch hands are the Seiko Monster hands. Aragon watches uses them. They have iridescence in them and are quite amazing. In your honor I have the Deep Blue "Bad Boy" on.
I bought a Daynight Tritdiver T-100. It's a chunck, but it has great specs and the tritium is hard to beat. I haven't taken it diving yet, but expect it to preform flawlessly.
Hi Shane, not so many reviews for this brand which I think is odd given their value for money and the large range they offer. I would have bought one by now, but there has always been something which held me back - the hand-set, overall size, or in this case the height. Nevertheless I reckon they are impressive pieces for the money, and maybe they will release one for me one day!

Nice to see a review of this watch. I think its a great deal for the price. I have a few of the larger Master 1000 models, which is basically just a larger version of this. The crowns are probably shared, I never found the crown to be out of proportion. On the smaller case it might look I too big. There really is no way to get a thin 300m watch with the NH35. The movement is too thick. Also, at this price, something has to give. If you were to compare this to the Seiko Samuri, the thickness is not much different. The Samuri also costs more than double the Deep Blue. I have bought a number off Deep Blue watches over the past 2 years. It seems the “Deep 40% code always works. They recently re-released some of there higher end models. They actually have a model with 66 tritium tubes.
I'm considering a deep blue or a citizen promaster diver. given some of the really pissed off people i've seen on some youtube comments and the trend that the lume is awful on the deep blue, what would you recommend?
The quartz eco drive promaster or one of the automatic ones? Either way I'd say the lume is better in Citizen. The hands here aren't bad, but the dial is a bit weak.
@@RelativeTime The eco drive. lume isn't the end all be all for me. i'm looking for longevity and durability. i'd assume the eco drive would clearly win, but the deep blue sure appeals to me.
@@carl-ok9gn I think you are right. The big reason some like Deep blue is because it's a pretty affordable automatic. Yet if you don't care about that then I think the citizen would be a better choice.
@@RelativeTime by the way, i really enjoyed the video. professionally done. what is that starting at the beginning and playing in the background? i really like it
I actually love it but not fond of the thickness. I think you are right regarding the rubber strap. Form fitting to the case and tapering is the solution to those high riding cases. The strap solved this problem for my zelos, turtle, and phoibos. Shortening the lugs length on high rise watch cases is not always a home run.
Thanks for the review. I've been considering the Diver 1000 for a while now. I think their fun dials in either the bold colors or the bold materials -- sandstone, abalone, mother-of-pearl-- are the standouts. I wouldn't want to wear them every day, but they'd be fun to have in the collection for the right day or mood (for example, I could wear one of the read ones while rooting for the local college team), and you don't have to spend an arm and a leg for just an "occasion watch." It's disappointing that DB misreports (or perhaps calculates) the proportions, though. I see that the current Diver 1000 is being sold with a solid case back. I wonder if they'd put that on the Gen2. www.deepbluewatches.com/di10audiblbe1.html
I ordered one in 44mm, like $159 with 4 bucks fop something for shipping. Just wondering what this will be, I mean the spec's for the price are almost to good to be true.
I’ve been waiting for a good revue of the Deep Blue watches. They have a great website where there is trading and drawings for their brand of watches. If you like to gamble what better than a new watch as a prize?!?
Don't buy DeepBlue watches. They are not reliable. Had to send one in for repair. After paying for the return fee, they've had it for over 6 months. No one answers calls, emails or anything. Stay away from Deep Blue.
Deep Blue watches are very solid, they also have more higher end models with ETA movements, Sapphire crystal and ceramic bezels. Models like the Master 2000 series are alot nicer than this one, but much more expensive.

@@markedfortime It all depends on which one you buy. Every watch company have lemons from time to time, but I've had my Deep blue master 2000 for 4 years and it runs perfectly. I also know a few people who have several deep blues and NO issues. Looks like you just got a lemon.
The sizes kill deep blue for me. They are too tall or to long on the lug to lug. I wish they werent because they sure have some nice dials and color combinations
What is going on at Deep Blue? I own 6 different Deep Blue watches that I purchased years ago. It came to a point where every time you hit on a great model it was for a limited time and all of a sudden NO MORE? Oh and then the new models are just plain Ugly. Come on, A CHECKER BOARD PATTERN? ARE YOU KIDDING? LOL. I’ll bet anything sales are way down. If you aren’t careful you will end up like “Invicta”. You couldn’t pay me to wear one of those. Sadly to say your company is not far behind. My suggestion is fire the design team. In the past you developed some really beautiful watches which has made me a fan and purchase quite a few. Please, Please get your act together before its. Too late. Your Friend Paul Agli
Hmm, and maybe it's just me, but this watch is not really good enough to be on this channel. You have my respect as a watch reviewer my friend, but for my money I would prefer an Orient 👍 Tam.
My father bought a Master 2000 many years ago. Shortly after purchase the stem began to wiggle when the crown was opened, as if it were dislodged inside the movement. The customer service was NON-existent. He was very disappointed; this was the first watch company where he had experienced such poor response to obvious quality issues. They were completely unresponsive. I will NEVER buy from this company. What a shame...nice design...great specs...but absolutely crap execution and highly questionable quality processes at this company. IMHO.
Relative Time , I purchased a nato diver which is a SKX homage. The watch had problems with crown and bezel . It literally fell apart within 2- weeks of owning it . I emailed the customer service and I received no response . I had to write to the BBB to get a response from the customer service dept. The company has no phone number and it’s a nightmare to speak to someone . The guy Stan which is the owner is no good. It’s a shame because the watches look great but it’s a bad quality control problem. This is the most recent issue .
I have a different experience. I wanted to buy a watch but they have returned me the money because, in past, they have had bad experiences with Brazil customs (which is true for most of the transactions that go into this country) They have been answering my questions, via email, really fast, in a few hours. The tone of emails was not polite but I have received the answers for everything I have asked.
If you look I still have a comment pinned from someone else who had a bad experience with Deep blue. If you want, you can reply to that comment and expand on what happened. That way it's all in one place for people to see.

I'd love to see that mod! Can you post a link to some pics? Maybe on imgur?

Cheers!
Did you need an unusually small pin pusher to size the bracelet? Struggling with this one...
The pin and collar sucks. Kinda think they would have changed that too given the complaints. Nope
Supposedly there is now a Gen 2 with ceramic. Amazingly at the same price.
If the juggernaut fits,I think the 1000 would too. I’m curious what other differences there are with the gen 2.
Another great review Shane! I like this piece but that helium escape valve is a deal breaker for me.
its a fockin DIVERs watch.
Just wanted to point out that for whatever reason, I kept saying Divers 1000 as the model. It's Diver 1000. Singular.
Just got my new 44 with the sandstone dial, Love it.
Awesome. Glad you like it. How long did it take to get to you?
Exactly one week.
I like the sandstone dial, and the price is great. I definitely need to get one for myself. I wish it wasn't so thick and didn't have that escape valve. But still a great looking watch.
49mm lug to lug for a 40 case is too long :( .. for my wrist. Will it fit a 6.2 inches wrist?
Deep Blue offer so much value for money. If you dont have one, you should get one......
Definitely worth checking out.
Things must change to case back mine doesn't have the Expedition case back and solid metal that might be where the millimeter come from
Yes! Been waiting for this one
Hope you found it useful.
Don’t mind this one. Thanks for the review. A good value proposition watch that wasn’t on my radar. I really like the dial and orange hand. 👍
Love that dial, price is a bargain too...I'll get one after Xmas . Cheers 👍👍
me too
I like that love the chunky design and that dial Wow!
I have this watch and it is my favorite one.
Your right about the strap change. Its a royal pain in arse to get strap back on. You would think after all this time and the amt of complaints Ive read, and having several deep blues myself, the company would do something about it. Anyway, I like the watch except for the thicknesses
I like the sandstone dial. Thanks for sharing.
Love that dial and a really decent price point.
They have some great value. I’ll have to check out another.
💕 this look. My favorite style of bracelet. What is the weight of this watch?
I'm trying to decide between bracelet or strap. Would you say the bracelet is worth the ~$50 more? Or could I buy a better one with that money and keep the strap?
That sandstone dial is fantastic. It is a little chunky and not a fan of the very big crown. There are a number of good value dive watches about at the moment. But at under $150 (with the discount) if you want something different to the norm it's a great shout. If I wasn't getting rid of most of my watches I think it would be quite high up on my list. Great review of a quite nice different watch
I wish I could find one.
I don't see it on their website either... I guess they phased it out.
@@RelativeTime ya to bad, beautiful dial
Which model did it start out as before the mod?
I've owned several diver 1000s at both case sizes but always sell them off.
Have you tried any other watch from Deep Blue?
Anyone recommending a thinner diver ar a similar price point? Thanks for a great review.
A lot of watch for the money, but not a watch for me. Another well done review.
I like the dial but at the same time its not something I'd choose. Good on Deep Blue for trying something a bit different.
Don't buy DeepBlue watches. They are not reliable. Had to send one in for repair. After paying for the return fee, they've had it for over 6 months. No one answers calls, emails or anything. Stay away from Deep Blue.
That dial is something that should be sold at Claire's.
Love that sparkly dial, however, it’s a little too chunky for my taste.
I have a deep blue watch quartz’s model with a depth sensor...over all solid watch
@@RelativeTime i really appreciate it.
@@RelativeTime by the way, i really enjoyed the video. professionally done. what is that starting at the beginning and playing in the background? i really like it
That is a thick boy but I'm a dial freak so maybe I'll give them a shot
I actually love it but not fond of the thickness. I think you are right regarding the rubber strap. Form fitting to the case and tapering is the solution to those high riding cases. The strap solved this problem for my zelos, turtle, and phoibos. Shortening the lugs length on high rise watch cases is not always a home run.
Great video! New subscriber!
Thanks and welcome!
😍wow. Beautiful model. Nice.cool bracelet too.👍
Braclet is pretty comfy. Surprised they actually have 3 different types of bracelets that fit.
@@RelativeTime 👽🤘
Good looking watch but a bit thick for my taste.
Among the best american watches.

Can't find this one in stock...

The sparkly dial is incredibly uniquely; special even.
I ordered one in 44mm, like $159 with 4 bucks fop something for shipping. Just wondering what this will be, I mean the spec's for the price are almost to good to be true.
The shipping is like 15 dollars. A complete rip off. Ive ordered deep blue for years. Never 4 buck shipping
An affordable adventurine dial??? =O
The dial reminds me of the night sky..
That it does!
love some of there watches on my list get one..... cheers
Date window looks awful but I love everything else
Deep Blue watches are very solid, they also have more higher end models with ETA movements, Sapphire crystal and ceramic bezels. Models like the Master 2000 series are alot nicer than this one, but much more expensive.

@@markedfortime It all depends on which one you buy. Every watch company have lemons from time to time, but I've had my Deep blue master 2000 for 4 years and it runs perfectly. I also know a few people who have several deep blues and NO issues. Looks like you just got a lemon.
Circus piece...
The sizes kill deep blue for me. They are too tall or to long on the lug to lug. I wish they werent because they sure have some nice dials and color combinations
I feel the same way about Aragon. I think the smallest they make is 45mm
Too late.

The Deep Blue EU site has invicta.nl referenced. That could be your answer!
At least on screen, I don't like the dial.
Hmm, and maybe it's just me, but this watch is not really good enough to be on this channel. You have my respect as a watch reviewer my friend, but for my money I would prefer an Orient 👍 Tam.
Really interesting dial, but the rest of the watch isn't really anything special. Also 16mm is just too thick.
If the went with a closed case back I think it would shave off about a mm. That would help a lot.
IMHO.
I wish I had a bigger wrist (6,75 inch)....🙄
I'm sitting at 6.25", so I feel your pain.
That would be a good watch for going up in da club
I’ll be sure to include it in my “Top 5 watches for burning man”. 😆
Too much steel.
Thanks for the content .
BEWARE WITH DEEPBLUE CUSTOMER SERVICE . IT IS HORRIBLE . Stay away.
What was your experience? If you want reply to the pinned thread so it stays at the top when people look at this.
These guys send you crap! and blame you for messing up the watch. Crooks!
If you look I still have a comment pinned from someone else who had a bad experience with Deep blue. If you want, you can reply to that comment and expand on what happened. That way it's all in one place for people to see.
It's a chunker!
A bit thick. If they went to a closed caseback it would help.
It definitely is a 15+MM height! That is one curvy gal for sure
That's one ugly diver
Height would be like strapping a rock on my wrist. Great value though.
With the silicone strap and curved lugs it’s not bad. But I think it would help if they used a closed case back.
Well it ain't no Bliger.
But is it a zinger?
@@RelativeTime this bliger I got fine sterile dial 2 color lume thats okay screw down crown but invicta better. But it white and snoeflakey so I've got it in rotation. I won a cheap bid on it out of curiosity. But here's what annoys me about it. Its a submarine chinese with screw down crown and the only faith they have in it is 3 atm.
@@violinmke that's odd. Maybe no seals for the crystal. Or they just playing it safe.
