A Substantial Affordable Dive Watch | Deep Blue Diver 1000

- Deep Blue Watches are getting stronger and stronger. They are now a very serious competition to the likes of Seiko and Orient. But are their sub $400 automatic dive watches able to compete with other low budget brands? In this video I review the Diver 1000.

Very fair and comprehensive review of this great value watch with uber quality.
Bought a light blue dial with the rubber band. Every part of this watch is top quality, from the unique styled solid case to the signed ss band clasp and signed ss loop for the band end. I paid US$214 ( paid via PayPal ) delivered. Watch was US$149 plus US$15 for optional SS watch end loop and postage was US$50. Good value, as similar quality watches are over AU$600. Even though it is a heavy thick watch it is fairly compact and wears like a much smaller watch. Can highly recommend, as it is currently my favourite watch in my 8 watch diver collection.
PS. Came with a free compass and thermometer to attach to band. Useless to me as it is not in Celsius. Fahrenheit means nothing to me. About time the US caught up with the rest of the world with measurements. "STOP LIVING IN THE 1800's! "
Their definitely are not many that can come close to beating these Deep Blue divers for the price. Solid build quality, good looking divers with plenty of options for your hard earned money like the 40 mm Defender. They have everything a Seiko diver has and much more for so much less. They just don’t have the big name of Seiko. Thanks for the video, they’re not a ton of videos on this solid value brand.
Thanks for your review. Nicely done. I purchased the Deep Blue 1000 with a red ceramic bezel. Black Friday special for $99, Im very impressed. I have several divers including Seiko, Certina, Tudor and Tag Heuer.
I am looking forward to opening my watch! I ordered one yesterday. For anyone wondering, I got the batman diver with the regular rubber strap. I might do an unboxing video.
I have owned 4 DB watches. Sold 2 that had NH35 movements but kept the 2 with ETA movements, Master 2000 day/date and DayNight Recon T100 tritium. Chunky, heavy watches, but very well built and they look great.
My father's Master 2000 had a problem with the stem almost out of the box...Deep Blue was unreachable and the customer service non-existent. The nice looking watch sits in a box unused for the better part of a decade. A piece of crap, in my humble opinion. NEVER again.
Great review!! I have worn a Deep Blue Recon daynight 65 chrono as daily for 8 years and it has been FLAWLESS! Higly recommend DB watches!
For anyone watching this video now, just a heads-up I'm pretty sure you don't get the compass and thermometer with this watch anymore. I've bought two Deep Blue watches in the last month and neither came with those two extras. The keychain, sticker, and cleaning cloth were included with both.
Just bought the Grey Sunray w/ orange sec hand on the Jubilee.
Thanks to you.
Love my master 1000. Very accurate after the first month. Only complaint is the lume is relatively weak. Have mine on the orange natural rubber strap and it really pops with the orange second hand
Me again. I also purchased the all black tactical diver, Very kewl!!
I can't believe the negative comments here. I just received my Master 1000 ii and it's VERY well built. Where can you get a 300M ISO rated dive watch with a helium valve, sapphire crystal, exhibition back, 120 click ceramic bezel for this price? Also, the NH35 movement is tried and true and is bullet proof, you can regulate them to be very accurate. Remember, it's an automatic watch, not a quartz movement. Even the movement in the Omega Seamaster 300 professional dive watch, caliber 8800, is */- 5 seconds a day - very similar to a regulated NH35 movement (even some out of the box are that accurate). That watch will cost you around $4,000!!! The lume is decent and can clearly read it just fine in the dark after 8 hours. The 120 click bezel is accurate and tight. Right now you can get the Master 1000 ii 45MM for $99. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I got 2 of them and expected them to be fairly cheaply built when I opened them. I couldn't believe how beautiful made they are and it has a very good quality silicone strap.
Just wait until you have a quality issue and have to deal with Deep Blue's customer service. Hint...there isn't any. Good luck...you'll need it.
@@jb678901 I've worn this every day for 6 months, working in the forest clearing trees, no issues with it. No scratches in the sapphire crystal and keeps incredible time. I'm incredibly satisfied and it blows my SKX Sekio out of the water!!
@@brucewayne2984 Lucky you. As for me, it was a sunk cost.
@@jb678901 Win some, loose some.
The look is very Helm Komodo to me, not an overly massive caes size but has the chunkyness and the big crown only at a much better price and with none of the availability issues, I like it.
Finally..someone is doing a review of my favorite new brand!!I bought my first a couple weeks ago..and found 2 used ones on Ebay...should have those this week!!LOVE THEM!!!
Hell yeah I got a orange dial sea quest rated for 1500 meters Im in the ocean alot do some diving but only way I'm going that deep is if I'm tied to a ⚓
I used to love them too. Until contacted them about repair and never got an answer.
@@jesserjzz1 Thats weird...same....I have like 6 of them...one hasnt worked right since I got it...and its my fave!!!Sucks
@@caseymaroney5028 The problem is that mine is like. Unusable. You just can't wear... It is scratched and even the saphire is chipped off. After a motorcycle crash. So the problem is that I did not get even a response... Like ignored. That was enough. I had posted the full issie in another comment on this video.
@@jesserjzz1 I got a response...but it was.."did you buy it new...from a dealer?" I said Im not sure..I have so many and i buy most on Ebay...whats the difference..i'll pay you guys to fix it?Never heard back...
Nice review. I have a few of the larger Master 1000 Models. I have one of there bracelets, it had pin and collars, they can be a pain.
I think for the price they are great watches. Only thing is they are large, and it might be too large for many. Personally I have a larger wrist so the size is fine for me.
For the price, this is an amazing watch. Ceramic bezel, sapphire, etc. and by the way it’s an American company out of New York. For this price you would have to buy some Chinese clone of seiko or 6501, etc and wait for two months. This watch is just right all around, especially for US residents.
Love this watch.
i ordered 2 of these deep blue watches couple of years ago,,,,both had bezel alignment issues,,,,its a solid, tough watch but poor quality control ,,,
Hey, do you still have the Deep Blue Master 1000 that you reviewed a while back? I'd love to see a side by side comparison between it and the Diver 1000. I don't think anyone else has done one yet. The current "Gen 2" Diver and Master watches are the same price, come in the same colours and have the same specs, so it looks like the only difference is the size. I ended up getting the Diver because I was worried that the Master would be too big, but it would be nice to see them compared to see what that size difference looks like up close.
Hi. Do you know the Deep Blue "Item Number" for this exact model? I like the antiqued bezel and hour markers.
It appears this exact one is no longer available, www.deepbluewatches.com/di10ii40audi63.html
That looks like the closest match in the second generation of the Diver 1000
lovin my abalone master. got it today
I almost bought the red or orange today...
What color did you get?
I bought the Grey Ray.
HARD TO CHOOSE! Really.
Im super unhappy with DB repairs. First off they told me the watch was stolen or lost from their mailbox and for me to file a claim with USPS. Next they found it and asked me what to do. I said, please repair. I heard nothing for two weeks, then I contacted and they told me it would be 2-3 months for a repair. Needless to say, no more DB for me...
I had a worse experience on behalf of my elderly father. We tried to send the watch back to them and they sent it back unrepaired. After a MONTH ownership, the stem became wiggly and loose. The company would not communicate. To me this company is run by someone with an IQ between an idiot and an imbecile. I will stay away from these scam artists. IMHO.
I have one waiting at the Post, will pick it up tomorrow!
Which one did you get?
I like it, but I need another NH35 powered diver like I need an increase in taxes.
lmao you just solidified my purchase of a gen 2 diver 1000. Don't Tread On Me!
Love the band and look. Really nice watch
The Davosa Argonautic has very similar specs, but it is only 13.5mm thick and has a 2824-2 engine.
(Also costs upward of $700.00 U.S.)
Nice value for money when you can use the code. I have bought 3 Deep Blues over the last few years but I never seem to keep them. I think in the end I don't like how chunky they are, lets go on a diet Deep Blue. Also the lume really does suck
I agree. If Deep Blue could shrink their cases to maybe 12mm then they would be much more attractive. It’s not the Seiko movement making the cases so thick.
Best regards,
Anders
@@TimeAndCrown Could definitely tone down on thickness. As for the lume, the gen 1 1000 had a white dial lume which looked really nice, was disappointed when gen 2 didn't have the same variant. Also the lume on sea quest look's great. imgur.com/a/GJVO3Uw imgur.com/a/uwWxVPZ
Another thing that might help with the thickness is the helium escape valve. Really?? The number of professional working divers that really need that feature before they hit the decompress chamber must be like 2 dozen or in the Navy. It's like the number of people who have made it down to 600 m can be counted on two hands. Everyone knows that if you need to go down deeper than 100 m you send the ROV now lol.
I 've got Master 1000. Looks really good. But what do you think about accuracy of nh35a movements used in these watches? Any experiences? Thank you.
Hi Robert. I have been very happy with my NH35 powered watches. They have all been fairly accurate and the power reserve holds up. I do prefer the Miyota 9015 over the NH35.
Best regards,
Anders
@@TimeAndCrown thank you
Looks fantastic
Fantastic professional presentation. Nice watch but diameter is too small for me and it is too thick . I think that it is because of the Seiko mechanism . Anyway, nice channel and l decided to subscribe. 😂
Hi Krzystof. Thank you for watching and subbing 👍🏻
Best regards,
Anders
It is a nice diver but it is too chunky for the 300m it offers. Originally I had the impression that this was a 1000m diver due to the writing on the dial and then I spotted the 300 m text.
Yes, it looks like a diver with more than 300 meters of water resistance. But who would ever need more than that?
Best regards,
Anders
Beautiful watch and outstanding review, thank you. But, too thick for me. Can anyone recommend a thinner diver that is near this price point?
Hi John. Thank you. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Take a look at Orient Kamasu or Orient Mako. You can find both reviews on my channel.
Best regards,
Anders
I really like this
ISO certified. Nice.

I plan to buy from EU site as I'm in the UK. Lol Anyone got discount code at all? Someome told me few days ago that Deep Blue customer service is really poor... Just kinda make me worry abit
44OFF

I just used the code an hour ago.
Did you use capital letters?
Maybe an American VPN?
If you can get one I don't mind shipping it to you. Let me know if I can help,

Good watches but bad shipping. Have to be home to sign.
Hi, how mutch? thnks
Everything is revealed in the video. Even how much discount you can get.
My father bought a Deep Blue Master 2000. Looks great...NEVER worked properly. There was something wrong with the stem to the crown and within a little over a month of ownership it became unusable (the stem wiggles around when opened and cannot function properly). In my personal experience the customer service was NON-EXISTANT. They had ZERO customer service and little interest in standing behind their arguably "shitty" product.
I own plenty of watches...Rolex, Glashutte, Omega, Seiko...and a slew of value brands too (e.g. Invicta, Steeldive, etc.). Deep Blue has been BY FAR the worst company in my personal experience to deal with on quality complaints.
Although it says it has an ETA 2825, my gut feeling is that it is a Chinese clone, given the observable lack of quality. Not a PT5000 (which would be OK, IMO), but something else.
In my view, given today's market...if you want value and reasonable quality...then go for something like San Martin, Cronos, Steeldive. Save your money and go for something that works well.
I think the bezel action on the SKX is awful.
Sorry, I didn't understand you. What is the price?
Hi David. It’s $333 with no discount. I believe the code “off” gives you 40 percent discount.

Skippi Names gosh ı got an oris aquis date with green dial 43.5 mm for 1550 usd from jomashop. This watch is much much cheaper. Maybe lower quality or ı am a fool.
@@gurtugylmaz704 you're not a fool.
It is really amazing specs on the Deep Blue though. I haven't seen a piece with all of the specs as the Master 1000 2 for anywhere near as low of a price.
Ceramic lumed bezel, sapphire crystal, sapphire display case back, 300m (ISO CERTIFIED) WR, signed jumbo crown, choice of FOUR bracelet styles, good blue-collar NH35 Seiko movement, so many dial/hand/bezel choices that they're close to custom...
The Oris is Swiss made though and of great quality. Different league. Just because they're both 30 bar doesn't mean that much. That green dial is beautiful. I personally like the six o'clock date window too.
The indices on the Oris are a really nice shape... that give the watch warmth IMO.
Skippi Names thx for the answers. I see your point.
Deep blue watches needs to stay true to the dive world and not these newer ridicolous looking invicta type pieces with abalone dials and frikin checkerboard dials, what the hell were you thinking deep blue.....stay true to yourself, start looking cheap
My experience with Deep blue are bad. Dive bezel came loose very fast and dive bezel was also very sticky. I never got answers from Deep blue. Service is terrible. The Dive bezel was not under warrenty but the watch was only a few months old. I stay away from Deep blue watches. Maybe service in US is better. In the Netherlands it was very disappointing.
The hands are disproportionately slim. Throws the face off on such a substantial sized beast of a watch. And yeah the lume is a disappointment
Thanks for the content . DEEPBLUE CUSTOMER SERVICE STINKS .
Deepblue makes cool looking watches . The quality has suffered with the growth .
The brands downfall is the CUSTOMER SERVICE IT IS HORRIBLE . Buy with caution .
Thanks. I’ve read others point out their customer service is bad. For $209 it’s okay to take the chance.
@Biggles-in-Cyprus Thanks for the tip. I will have a look 👍🏻
still love my 264.50.0 omega seamaster the deep blue comes with a lousy case not to mention how thick it is. yuck!
Lol you really came here to flex a seamaster on a video about a $200 diver? Incredible.
@@TheFilmGospel0 typical watch snobs wouldnt u say?
I bought this watch but 1000m divers are way too thick and no one will every dive that deep. I mean this watch is as heavy as balls! Therefore I returned it. I also wasn't impressed that it used a Seiko Movement. I think the Swiss movements were more refined than the Japanese ones. If you want a Japanese movement then go with an acutal Seiko Diver or a Citizen Diver. After I returned it I bought a Ocean Crawler and am much more satisfied with it.
