I haven't watched the build yet, but i'd just like to say, thank you for all the great videos! I'm building my very first model kit today, the very same M-10 as in one of your previous videos; your videos always give great tips and tricks, they're really helpful in choosing and building a kit and i hope I've learnt some painting tricks as well.
Cheers! and keep up the great work Andy!
All the best for your kit! :D
That is great , the main reason I do videos is to inspire people to build and find out what a great hobby this is . Best of luck and thank you for watching.
+Andy's Hobby Headquarters Hello Andy, I was wondering if you have done Hobby Boss Leopard 2A6EX?
Congradz on your first kit! Tamiya kits fit together well. A good place to start. Some of the old, less expensive Tamiya kits may be good for you to build and gain experience. Before you buy any kits, get the kit number and do a Google image search. You will find sprue pictures and directions. This is really important regarding tracks or you may have to cut each link of a sprue. Good Luck and Have Fun.
Andy's Hobby Headquarters
My first was a Tamiya Panzer IV Ausf. D, and i will admit that your videos inspired me to get and build
Thanks Andy for the "as you biuld" tutorial to keep us on track.
Friul tracks are awesome. Cost a bit, but well worth the expense. I used them on my Tamiya Tiger 1 Early. One comment, when you paint the tracks take a sanding block and scuff the cleats. Ground contact would wear them to bare metal. Also make sure what exactly the tracks were made of, not all were steel. Wheels should have grease/oil seeping from the center caps too. Not excessive, just enough to show where they were lubed.
Thanks for the video. I have this kit in the stash and hope to get started on it this winter.
Andy, your use of staples to join the links of the tracks is genius. First time I used a set of Friul Tiger tracks I used your method. Great idea.
I have that kit in my stash. Guess I'll have to dig it out and build it now. That looked like a very fun build. Thank you Andy.
Did you?
After watching more my heart burned i cant keep going to see this guy glueing the all this nice mechanizms
Great tip for the track pins Andy never thought of that, should save punctured fingers next time.Great video again always enjoy them keep em coming and thanks.
Thanks Andy, I really enjoy your videos. I found with friul tracks the brass wire is good if I use it off the roll, insert it all the way then back it out a bit. I trim it then, and am able to push it in far enough so it's not visible. Haven't needed to use any glue at all.
Well done Andy, that was a superb build, paint and weather tutorial for everyone to enjoy. Many thanks for sharing your skills with us all. Have fun,
Joe
Thank you for watching Joe
Love your videos mate. I've been making models off and on since I was a kid and have learnt so much from your videos in such a short time. Thanks for your efforts. Great looking Tiger. Looks like a nice high quality kit.
Another Great build Andy! I always look forward to seeing your next build. Keep it up :)
Thank you
ugh, those Vallejo pigments are magical!!
Just another great build Andy a true masterpiece. I have a Tamiya Tiger late and an Italeri Tiger in my stash and this Vid is a great help for building those. Thanks.
Thank you Marcel , enjoy your build
Love the vids andy,
Im just doing the staple thing at this moment and its much better than the wire.
im working on a trumpeter Geschutzwagen tiger 17cm Kanone with huge tracks
Great job Andy! I really like the tutorial on the Fruimodel tracks and how to weather/paint them. To be completely honest, the unit markings on the vehicle seem a little scarce but it still turned out to look awesome.
Was wondering about this brand. nice to know the kit was produced well. Great paint job!!
Thank you
Informative and a joy to watch as always Andy, I always had a thing for Tiger tanks since I bought my very first 1/35 scale motorised Tamiya version back in 1980 at the tender age of 16. They have come a long way since then. Thanks again for the vid... and with the number count at 19,200 at the time I posted this, proves you must be doing it right. Cheers from the U.K.
Just finished this kit and it is very good with a lot of detail, the tracks are very fiddly and delicate but work well if you have the patience, nice build Andy :)
Thank you, Richard
some great ideas for fitting the tracks. I managed to find a spare set of the full interior from a 5003 and used it in this version. I think it just finishes it off. Love the reviews, keep up the great work. Cheers Phil
Thank you
Andy the tiger!!Tiger man!!thanks for posting!!great video!!!
Thank you Walter ,
Using staples for the Fruil tracks is a brilliant idea. Keep up the good work sir!
Thank you
Very nicely done as always, Andy. I really dig your track work!
Thank you Richard
The Tiger F 05 was the fifth Tiger (F01-F05 and F13) within the Tigergruppe Fehrmann. F06-F012 were Panthers.
And you could argue which one the particular Tiger is you build.
F01 had zemerit on it, which yours doesn't so it could not be F01 ;) . Also it is known that F01 was Panzergrau (grey and had no cammo sceem)
Now F02 was hit early on and was then brought back to Fallingbostel and reasigned to the Kampfgruppe Grosan losing its "name" F02. Fun fact F02 was Fehrmanns commanding Tank, the tank was KO'd with a bazooka blast to the turret. Fehrmann and his crew were able to escape and were alter captured by the US forces.
F13 Was also a panzergrau (grey) tank which then would not match yours. Which was KO'd later the day of 5th of april 45.
So the only real ones where F03, F04 and F05. Litte Fun fact about the F05. The F05 was remanned after the first counterattack by the americans. During that counteratack all Panthers were KO'd and their section leader major Schulze was then assigned to the F05.
The F05 later shot 3 Shermans and a M24. The F05 swallowed 3 shots- none of them with any effect and Schulze was able to withdraw from the fight. On the nicht of the 12th of april, Schulze was drving along the road with headlights, beeing mistaken as a friendly tank by the US MP, and greated from afar.
F05 then hit a convoy again KOing another Sherman and The US Soldiers yielded and Schulze freed 200 German Soldiers.
On the 14th of april the tiger then had no fuel left and was blown up by Schulze and his crew. That day Schulze annuled the Kampfgruppe Fehrmann.
So I think the F05 was defenetly your best choice. Weather the color scheme is true to the F05, I cannot say but I dont mind anyway, it looks cool and has a great stroy ;)
Sources? And please dont say marl felton. There's history, then there is mark felton history
I disagree with some of this, F01 only had zimmeritt on the turret as can clearly be seen in the existing pictures as well has historical references. Sources I have read say that the turret was from a completely different tank and had a camo scheme so wether you are correct about the tank being panzer grey, which I doubt it was this late in the war, then is possible the hull was either yellow or had a cam scheme too.
@@JohnWick-wi9rs You mean that Mark Felton is fake?
It is comments like this that are ruining this hobby.
@@JohnWick-wi9rs what's wrong with Mark Felton?
Very nice build as always Andy, I was undecided about this kit, but you have made my mind up (Look out wallet, here I come again) (y)
I really enjoyed watching it, thanks!
Thank you
Wow! Wonderful job Andy!
Thank you
fantastic truly brilliant video, thankyou.
Thank you
All I can say is WOW Andy. Great build
thank you , I'm glad you liked it
I"m about to do a diorama of a wrecked tiger flipped upside down by a bomb and a Tiger II passing by....and I just ordered some metal tracks thanks to you!
that's great good luck
good build Andy , nice kit . that was a great set of tracks you put on there , excellent weathering as always. keep up the good work
Great work as always, Andy.
Thank you
Very nice built as always
Great video.
Nice job. Enjoy your tutorials.
Thank you Ron
Andy, I love your videos, always use it as a guide!
Can you pleeeease make a submarine diorama in the ocean? Or a guide how to create sea efect. Thanks! :)
Andy , I watched your videos for a few years, love your creativity on the fruil tracks with staples .
Great build, tips, and paint.
I noticed several "rivet counter" comments and " Tiger gurus " about Zimmerite vs non .
Your work is awesome !
Inspirational and fun
You I think have brought life to the hobby and a combo of old school and new ideas, obiviously a succesful venture.
Big fan of your channel and FB medicorce modeler page.
Right on.
This was a great build and paint Andy
One minor comment , just a thought
You need to do a review of aftermarket tracks vs new kits with these workable tracks in these new kits.
I am about to start RFM Tiger with kit tracks which are workable.
Although I am a fan fruils to.
But I love these detailed tracks that work.
They are very similar to model kasten tracks
Thanks Andy!!!!😉😉👍👍🇺🇸
Note: the metal tracks. If you want to be sure the paint doesn't flake off use primer. I do mine like Andy showed but use a que tip with thinner and quickly rub the raised feet on the track as used ones where bare metal.
Any case, amazing as always!!!
Good job Andy
I've been using masterclub tracks for my tigers both early n later versions I'm not too impressed with these (that's after 4 sets) struggle lining up the track pin holes !! Also not using the track pins with them they break too easily 5mm coated wire does the job but will try your suggestion of the paper clips...thanks for the video's been very useful for a bloke whose just got back into the hobby after a 10+ year hiatus......Ian from York/England
nice details!
Very nice :D keep it up !
in the past i used small staples as grab handles, they also work well, i never used the metal tracks until my Panther aust A build i am working on now, and love them, and now wanting to up grade my previous builds. they do make a big difference in the look.
really nice tank 👍
Thank you
Great Job
The "Hybrid" Tigers of Kampfgruppe Fehrmann from the the Lehr School at Fallingbostel were Dunkelgrau in color, the mish-mash of features and accessories is right. The rest is good, as in most of your video productions. I like that you complete the model, I dislike 10 and 12 part series! I like your approach, too. Good job!
Panzergrau to be precise;) However there are pircutres of F013 which might show him with a cammo patten. Also Fehrmanns F02 had a cammo patten on the turret.
Great build. Still want to get a set of them tracks
Thank you
Great job, and very much enjoyed. But.... what I'm really looking forward to seeing is the German railway siding diorama. Should be a bit of light relief for you after all those track links!
🗣️Good job👍👍👍
Great job Andy
Thank you
noice build andy
As always, Andy, Great work AND video!! I thank you for the inspiration to get back into the hobby. A question, if I may - How do you make the brown and black wash?
Hi Andy, great build and paint job. Don't know if you would be interested but with most of my tanks I put plaster of Paris in the bottom and fill it up most of the way. It gives the tank some weight, feels cool, thanks.
Good idea
Reminds me of a dragon kit I built years ago nice build
very nice build andy!
Thank you
Nice build Andy
Thank you
Hey that's a great idea to use them staples instead of cutting that wire to measure. Thanks for the effort!
Agreed. I've heard of using T-pins too. But for staples are those your typical office stapler staples? I've a set setting at home for a panzer III but haven't started assembling yet. The brass wire that comes with looked like a real pain.
very nice kit
Thank you
Scratching effect and the muddy are greatly realistic!!!
Thank you
Hey Andy, great video. I was wondering what drill/drill bits you would recommend for drilling out holes on 1/35 scale models. More specifically 1/35 tiger 1 models. I know that these rye field gruppe fehrmann tiger 1 kits need drilling on the top of the "hull". Thank you for your recommendations and your time, I look forward to hearing from you.
awesome
excellent mate,well done
Thank you Andy
the tracks add a nice weighted look.
Yes I wish they were more affordable for the masses , they add a nice amount of realism
Hello Andy,
Could you link the public to the tracks and from where you got them?
I normally get them from Ebay, but maybe there is a better or cheaper place and modelers could get them from there.
ebay is the best place to get them right now
+Andy's Hobby Headquarters thanks Andy, for giving us your input
I really appreciate this build because this kit is my next project. How about doing Dragon's Tunisian Initial Tiger next?
That's funny it was a toss up between that and this one , but i had not ever built a ryefield before , maybe soon.
Thanks for the great video Andy. This might be a silly question, how many of the Fiulmodel track links are needed to be assembled for a full set of tracks? I noticed in the video it was 97, is that the same for every 1/35 Tiger? I'm currently working on a Trumpeter. Cheers!
I've found that soaking Fruil tracks in vinegar overnight gives the metal a slight "tooth" that helps paint stick to them.
Really nice build. Haven't built any Ryefield kits, but it looks awfully complicated.
I used to paint all parts by hand with brushes still in the sprew, bit by bit. Put it together and repeat the process. Never done airbrush
what paint/thinner ratio do you use? I use enammels and some times hace over thikness problems.
Wow, great job, really beautiful, thank you for all your videos and please continue ! Greattings from France.
Thank you, Bastien
Andy have you thought about using burnishing fluid for the metal tracks? What are your thoughts on that technique? Great video as always.
Hey Andy, been a modeller off and on for years, a few years back I started using airbrushes, I'm confident enough to produce some good painted models...but! I suck at painting figures, any chance of a video on painting figures? Especially the faces? That would be a great help!
Andy would you ever consider doing a 1/48 Tamiya tank build with either friulmodel tracks or easy metal tracks with RBMODEL cannons. Probably a Panzer IV, tracks that are available in both kinds of products. Thanks, Rick. I really enjoy your video's by the way. R
Andy! Beautiful work, what size staple did you use? Doing a early model Tiger with steel tracks.
Hi Andy I've built the Tamiya 1/35 Tiger, wish we could get Fruilmodel track sets over here in Japan. My new project is 1/35 L6/40 Italian light tank. Any chance of seeing some Italian armour builds ? Cheers❗
Fantastic work Andy. I'm about to use the Staples method on a Tiger 1 with metal tracks. What size are the staples you used? I couldn't id a set in the stationers today. Thanks and regards. Love your channel Sir.
Andy, your german camo is awesome. Any advise on how to do it?
格好良いです👍
Hey, Can i ask what Colors do i need for Rusting up my tank?
just to let you know the raised sections of the track that touches the ground is normally a silver or polished metal colour due to wear on the ground . check footage of a tiger in a tiger fest .
Hi Andy I loved the build so much I bought the. Tiger kit RM-5001 by ryefield but I lost a part. One of the lifting attachments for the side of the turret, they are on either side of the turret just behind the mantlet. What can I do?
Great video. Btw which size of staples do you use for the tracks?
Andy - if you are using the awesome Fruil tracks on this Tiger, why would you glue the torsion bars in-place? You could place the Tiger on a rough terrain diorama base to showcase the articulation of the suspension~tracks. Just wondering.
Great kit and build presentation by the way.
Nice
Thank you
I absolutely love watching your work :) I was wondering if you can do a video on another gundam and paint it up like a WWII nation (Soviets, USA, etc.)
That's a good idea.Thank you
Andy's Hobby Headquarters thanks just thought it would be something amazing to see since it would be more of a challenge
Hi i am currently building this model with full interior, I dont which is the best way to paint the interior, Do i fix it all into place and then brush paint it or do i airbriush the individual parts then glue them in, Any advice would be gratefully recieved, thanks.
Hello! When you do the camouflage with airbrush, do you remove the cap's needle to do straight lines?
Andy- Would you please build or look at the Rye Field Berge Tiger. Also would the 1/35 Tamiya Maybach engine fit in the Rye Field kit?
How does this kit compare to the Trumpeter version you did in May 2018? Thanks.
The hatches for the driver and the radio operator/machine gunner are on incorrectly. Switch sides. They're only going to see the shovel and the bottom of the main gun mantlet.
they arent on wrong lol
I'd use Ammo by Mig burnishing liquid on the tracks. You can avoid the painting and weathering. The burnishing liquid does that all.
Andy, what color did you use to outline your sponge chipping? Was it XF-57 Buff? Anyways it looks perfect for the chipping affect.
It's me :D
Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger :D tiger 1!
Looks like à ferhman group tiger but no zimmerit on the hull looks wrong early turret looks Good strange build but cool
Lovely work as always, Andy. The chipping and weathering look amazing. Those tracks are great but very expensive adding half as much again to the cost of the model. Having said that I'm going to get some for a Takom Chieftain MK.2 build planned soon.
Thank you
Andy have a couple of questions. On the metal tracks, have you tried the Ultimate Burnishing Liquid to weather the Friulmodel track or what is you opinion of this product. Also since SNJ powder is not longer available, could you recommend a replacement for the SNJ powder. And last, how many brushes have you gone through from weathering the tracks? Another great video on the Tiger tank, thanks
I would use mig metal powder for substitute
hi Andy! awesome build. what friulmodel kit was that? Alt-06?
yes
Which friul tracks did you use for the build? There are quite a few for the "tiger"
ATL 6 TIGER 1 LATE
can you give me information on the metal tracks
Which glue do you use plastic or CA..??
Thanks
I use great planes super glue
