The size of that Tiger track link is incredible.
Honeslty.
And to think an e100 track would probably have been at least 50% bigger...
yeah i don't think he can lift that ;)
that is probably why the larger tanks such as the Maus, didnt actually go into production. Large, Difficult to maneuver, Expensive.
yes bu the piece he has was only half
I love the German tank prototypes of late World War II I'm glad that they're making models of them
E-100 was a real project, jagdpanzer E-100 wasn't planned and just a 'what if'. Mr Hilary Doyle, the expert on German tanks labelled this one as a fake. The build is great tho and I love the looks of it, but I just want to say that it can go beside your UFO ;) and that the internet isn't always right.
Doyle isn't the 'expert' many claim he is. He was caught flat out making shit up about German night vision being useless.
Okay, didn't know that. But I still don't believe that jagdpanzer E-100 was a real concept.
the E-100 Chassis has been made but if they would have done the turret (the planned turret) it would have been to heavy and the chassis would break down so they decidet to plan another project wich also was a failure because the war already enden when it was supposed to be reay to fight
Did not know that there are already plastic models from WoT XD
since the E100 was a real project, converting it to a tankdestroyer wouldn't have been a big challenge, it would haven been the same concept they used to make cheaper versions, with compareable effectiveness, with every chassis.
Hi Andy, I enjoyed the build of the E100 Krokodil, I'm not really a fan of 'paper' tanks, but could see myself building either of these tanks, it was really good to see the two track pieces, I myself have a couple of WWII German helmets.
Cheers mate,
Les
As always Andy, great build and video, with the bonus of seeing original tank parts. Thanks for sharing.
the details you put into it! amazing work
Another great vid Andy, I love the tank tracks, more stuff like this please, history lesson and model making, perfect, cheers.
I am impressed by how Quickly you are able to build such high quality models! I'm 68 and just started building models again. since I discovered your videos I bought some of the kits you built but I must say that it takes me much longer to build a kit and yours look a whole lot better!
Great video. I have built this kit also, and it went together without any problems. As form the tracks, I also did not care too much for the rubber tracks. trumpeter does offer individual link-n-length racks for this kit, as well as, the E-100. Bought a set and used those instead - much better detail.
I think the Krokodil is another fictional E-series Jagdpanzer on the E-75 or also fictional E-90 chassis.
Panzermeister36 it is, yes.
btw you are making great videos!
Thanks!
this variant was planned and genuine blueprints were found
Yes, but what I said was that the Krokodil is something else, and that something else is fictional. This is not the Krokodil.
Can I get a source on those blueprints? I've seen one with the gun and mount, but the hull is not included.
Nice build Andy, thanks!
One more tank a never heard of and u nailed it
Love your vids Andy! I'd love to see you tackle the new mid-production Tiger with full interior from Rye Field.
Great kit Andy, i used the metal barrel on mine. Also used Spade Ace tracks and Atak zimmerit set
WOW Those tracks are BIG!!
loved the ' show and tell' Andy . great work as always. I look forward to seeing your video builds every week , please don't stop and make workout videos 😅
Another nice build Andy
where do you get the real tank tracks from? I want one!
Ebay and places. They cost hundreds to thousands of dollars, depending on the type, plus you gotta ship them from Estonia etc. Adam Mann did a video about tank tracks and shows his collection.
There is a pair on links on ebay for 899. I think it was\
So yeah good luck.
RIP Wallet
yeah, i am trying to get a panzer's optical viewing glass for the commander compartment or the panzer division ring
lovely! well done !
Great video Andy. would you be able to tell us how much those tracks weigh? Also plesse do a video on installing the metal tracks and painting them.
I play World of Tanks , so that said , I really enjoy your tank building and knowledge.
Another great video. I want to thank you. I always look forward each week to what your going to build' I have difficult time building due to a stroke. Your videos give me a sense of determination to continue building.
Mr. Andy your a nut. That statement about making a workout video using the track sections was funny. But seriously, besides making great assembly vid's I like the fact that you give a bit of a history lesson as well. For instance I'm very familiar with the Jag (Hunter) version of the Panther, but I never heard of the Krokodil, one of the reasons I viewed this vid. Thanks for the lesson.
Andy your an older mans role model. Thank you.
man this is an amazing paper design
another great Modellreview!
greetings from germany
Great job!
Looks futuristic.
What is the part number for the RB barrel that will fit this kit?
I have just built the jagdpanther 2 what if tank that this took its place! It's a beautiful kit just way to put the metal tracks together fornthe jagdpanther 2 tank destroyer!
This is incredible. And thank you Andy.. you motivated me to start same modeling on my own.
I'm working on tamiya King Tiger inspired by 233 King Tiger oryginal photos
I was very excited when I heard you say "We're going to do a little streaking" only to be grossly disappointed. I was expecting a different kind of streaking.
Came across your channel by chance looking up videos of T-90s, and I liked it so much that I purchased a Tamiya T-62 kit along with some tools I've seen you use in videos. Really looking forward to it!
great work Andy now I can't decide between this and the E100 great built tho 10/10 also that tiger track is huge where did you get it?
Nice a real tank track
This design maks much more sense than the one in WOT. There's more space for the crew and the armor is more effective.
I think the Jagdpanzer E-100 looks a lot nicer without these side skirts over the chains!
Is one of my absolute favorites among the tank destroyers!
Very nice model.
Another great video Andy, always enjoy your builds and have learnt a few tips and tricks from watching them which has improved my modelling skills so many thanks there! :-) One question, which airbrush do you use and how do you configure it (needle/nozzle size, paint mix, pressure etc) to get the neat and tight lines for painting tank camo like you do in this video?
very nice build Andy the friuls will give you a pain it takes much longer as the whole kit but they look amazing
Another absorbing video, I always look forward to these. The vidoe quality is incredibly clear, how do you do that? What set up do you have?
I saw something about a trumpeter maus with interior coming out soon, great build by the way, think I prefer the jagdpanzer e100.
i was wondering if the table would give way. also you have some buzzing on the video. but another great build. strange i have also been working on the Jagdpanzer E 100 3d model for printing. :)
This is a well done video. I wasn t aware you cold built german tanks without too laud marching music.
you should try paint and prime and sand before assembly . i also recommend "green stuff" putty and small magnets for part swapping. great video!
Jagdpanther: Who are you?
E100 Krokodil: Im you but I forgot to hit the gym.
Sick One Dude!
This is a really pretty cool tank. Great job Andy. I was wondering if you were ever going to do any other builds? How about a car or a plane or something different now and again? Thanks for sharing...
You would be surprised at how real you can make vinyl tracks look with the right amount of sag pinning and weathering. I have a few with vinyl and they look just as good as any plastic or white metal separate track piece kit.
If such design were true, it would make more sense to put the fighting compartment in the back and the engine in the front. Otherwise the unbalanced weight of the gun would likely break the suspension.
Rule of cool
Or put the gun in the rear, and put counterweight i.e. armor in the front lol.
The design documents for this tank were made up and never actually existed and were debunked for the reasons you stated!
thats how world of tnks designed it xD
So basically WoTs version on the Jadgpanzer E100?
i1.wp.com/ritastatusreport.live/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/ilya-lezhava-jagdpanzer-e-100-01.jpg?fit=1200%2C675&ssl=1
I honestly like the design shown in the video more, but it makes the least sense. Even a Jadgtiger style of this take would be more practical. If you are wondering, yes the one in game uses the 170mm gun like the one shown in the video.
is it possibly to use water has thinner when doing the streaking effect?
What did you use to seal the paintjob so you could start weathering?
Sometimes when I want to weather with a thinner the paintjob would start coming off so I have to go for the harder way to do it.
Great build really wish you were based here in Scotland lol your store looks amazing. What colour do you use for your scratching effect?
Wow amazing
Hi Andy. Love your videos. You are great with the free hand camo painting. Could you please list what air brush you are using, needle size and pressure settings to get that pinpoint accuracy without all the over-spray? Hope you get this because every time I learn from one of your videos, I have these questions about your brush technique and equipment.
Wish i could do this, i'd love a bunch of tank-models in my shelf behind me, too darn expensive tho :(
try to make the jpz e100 that is used in wot if possible
Tristan Erno it does because the engine would be in the front and the fighting compartment is in the back. it would have been a better design
Damian Moody I don't think that exists in a model
That tank isn't even real; it was made for World of Tanks.
Panzermeister36 so what
So that's why there are no kits of it
Another nice one :)
Nice , have you built any of the Modelcollect range !
What happened to you website?
The repair crews must have loved replacing, repairing and generally handling the tracks on the Tiger and Panther....
Bruh, Imagine having to do it for the Ratte
Im seeing many folks assemble first then paint after on tanks... I get why this is, but, what about other models? What are the opinions regarding paint before, during or after? Is there a protocol most follow or do you just do what you do the way you do it...?
Hey Andy
When ever I use markfit on decals the markfit dries and there is residues left on the model
What's with the different jagdpanzer E-100 designs
Andy what tier are you in World of Tanks? Also love your videos!
Any recommendations for easy tank models for beginners?
MisterAxeMan one of Tamiya's Sherman kits, for example their M4 early production. it has some small parts, but it goes together well and is cheap.
"Paper Panzers." Love it.
awesome!!!!!!!!!
can you also build the e 50 would be realy nice to the e collection and that Tiger track is big;)
Awesome vid man keep it up! Have to ask though, how to fix Bent guide horns on Dragon DS Tracks and would you normally recommend Trumpeter kits? Thanks so much for the vids loving it.
I'd just try to hide it behind a road wheel or idler wheel
Nice paperweights.
Wasnt this having the turelle in the behind part?
Cheers Andy
Will rubber cement work on those tracks?
Andy, after seeing the rough texture of the surface of real tracks in person, have you considered using something like Mr. Surfacer on future tracks? I'd be curious to see if that enhances the realism even further than you already have on all of your models.
those tracks haven't been used in 70 years. they are coated in rust. in real life a tank's tracks would never get the opportunity to rust.
It would've been a beast.. Until a tank gets behind it :P
even then, only very few allied tanks would be able to penetrate it
you think they would leave this thing without support? Such an expensive tank would never be left alone, it would definitely have a rearguard of AT guns and panzergrenadiers with panzerschreks and/or panzerfaust
DatOneAsianKid if you managed to get flanked in a tank destroyer, you weren't doing your job right. Jagdpanther and Jadgtiger weren't designed for close combat. The idea was you camouflage, sit about 500 to 1000m away with a big fuck off gun and shoot anything that moves. The armour was only there for when you took fire after you place your first shot, revealing your location. If you're close enough that there's a risk of getting flanked you've already failed your job
Or until it gets bombed by an P-51, Typhoon or P-47.
In 44-45 they didn´t stood much of a chance, considering soon they were discovered they would be hammered with airplane attacks.
that track is interesting, i wonder why the King Tiger had so many of its side panels removed, maybe they were they were too heavy to lift back on after replacing track links, so the crew could fed up with them and left then on the ground, it would interesting to know how thick the steel was, maybe 10mm or more.
22:49 wont that screw up the wheels if you apply that while the tracks are still attached to the tank?
I've been doing scale models for about a year now, and I want to get into making tanks, because all i've made are planes. Any tanks that you would recommend?
Has this been built in reality too? I like the slanted armour design.
He said at the start its a paper tank, that means it was only on the drawing board, listen to the video dumbass
Really like your videos was thinking that a challenger 2 would look good next your Abrams
Great paint job, but that would have been one strange looking tank.
Does anyone know of an After Market barrel for this kit? I seen one for the 1/72 scale version but not 1/35
@Deadlyman 8 Done that and evbay and the net. Apparently Trumpeter makes a 1/72 scale Jagdpanzer and I can find a barrel for that. They do make one for the Amusing Hobby !/35 Jagdpanzer. I wonder if that would fit?
@Deadlyman 8 NP Just putting it out their. Just wondering if anyone had found one that works. I have this kit sitting in my stash Just looking for a barrel for it
Another nice build that compliments the previouse E100 nicely.I may have missed it, but what did you use for your red oxide paint? Can you get it off the shelf or is it another of your custom mixes? Cheers!
Nice work, andy, Hey when are you going to do a Tiger Brand kit, looking forward to that ! Thanks
Where’s all the tool and spare track links that seem to festoon all tracked armor vehicles? 😊
Nice video! +1 like
Hi i was wondering if you could do a build video of that ME-262 in the background
As far as I know Trumpeter has individual Track links for the E-100 in their product line
Is that a tank destroyer? It looks like one
What is the buff that you put on it, is it a wash or very thinned paint?
buff paint, sprayed from a distance (2 feet)
Do you need to mask off the tracks or do you spray them too?
Is that tamiya redbrown and nato green straight?
Nice build! Where do you get the real track links from? haha
so when There are more Version of the Jagdpanzer E100 are There more Version of the E100 ??
HELP! I have a F-15E Strike Eagle and when I went to apply the first decal it disintegrated as soon as I tried to slide it off. Any tips on how to save the rest of the decal sheet? Lucky I used one of the missile paint strip decals. Thanks and keep up the GREAT video's! I've learned a LOT and got some GREAT tips.. Peace
Paul King you should only soak your decal in hot water for about 30 seconds... no longer! Maybe that is your problem... or perhaps you decal setting solution is way too strong. If the kit is and old kit, use a very mild setting solution as decals can degrade over time
Ben, I should have mentioned that I soaked the decal in lukewarm water for 10-15 seconds then let it sit right side up on a clean paper towel while I prep the piece where I'm going to apply the decal. This is a Monogram model from 1991 is says on the box. I've done plenty of models and have NEVER had the decal just about explode when I tried to move it to the edge of the backing so it never touched the setting solution. Thanks for your reply
tell me please, what company produce best model by quality? sorry for my english
Will this model be good to start with? This will be my first model ever:
Tamiya 35064 German Leopard Medium Tank
that one will be great. all tamiya kits go together perfectly.
They were so ahead of their time.
Nice one Andy👍🇳🇿
3:20 wonder how the WW2 crew change those heavy tracks in the field if 1 piece is already so heavy?
why do you first paint it black, then white and then camo ?
