    word of advice, you're charging your car wrong that's why its taking you so long and your range is because your car load and having fun driving style shortens your range. Follow the car Tesla SC instructions for each stop. you wont have to stop so long for your trip. You have one of the best if not the best EV for Daily driving / road trips. Daily for your car its best to go no higher then 90% and on road trip no higher than 95%. if you can keep is between 20% - 80% its even better. Very nice setup you have!!

    I think the Plaid is great for long distance travel. I've done a 4,700 mile road trip last November and just did a 2,600 mile road trip a couple weeks ago in mine (I'm coming up on 20,000 miles after 11 months of ownership). The Model S is the most comfortable car I've ever driven long distance and the infotainment system has got to be the best. At no time did I need to charge for an hour, more like half an hour on average, stopping at about every 2.5 hours of driving. After about 80% SOC, the charging rate slows down quite a bit, so it's best to avoid charging to 100% if you can avoid it. I've driven those same routes in my diesel SUV which has a range of over 700 miles on a full tank, but hands down I'd chose the Tesla over the SUV for these trips as long as I don't need to tow a trailer. The Tesla is just so smooth and the Autopilot is super useful, I don't feel as beat up after a long day of driving compared to the SUV. A half dozen times I've driven 1,000+ mile drives in a day.

      I saw a review were it was mentioned that this car wears tires very quickly, as much as a tire change is required every 5000 miles. Is it true? Thanks.

      @deweytruong9753 on my setup no. If you get those adjustable rear camber arms from n2itive your tires will last a long longer so you get a real even wear on your tires. On my current setup I’m at about 16k miles and still have plenty of tread left. I would have had over 20k miles on it but my last set got destroyed because I didn’t have the camber arms and my tires blew into pieces

      @@deweytruong9753 I have over 23,000 miles on my original set of tires, 19 inch wheels and it looks like there is plenty of tread on them. I easily should get to over 30,000. I think the tires on the 19" rims might last longer that the tires on the 21" rims, I believe the 21" rims have the more performance oriented tires (Michelin Pilot Sport?). I wanted the 19" rims because they come with the aero covers which maximizes range.

    Good upgrades with those native links and camber arms. Without them, the inner tires wear down faster.

      Hard disagree. Thats what made me switch cars. The Model S was too simplistic and dull looking to be my sports car. I had a model S and just switched it out for a g80 bmw m3.
      Ever since I got this I get alot more people taking pics and talking to me about it at car meets. In drive thrus i always get compliments. Definitly think teslas just don't stand out in the way sports cars do. They just lack that mean and aggresive look. The model S was a very sleek car I just always hated the boxy rear end and tail lights.
      Interior wise I really like having buttons to scroll the screen. I can do stuff alot faster and without looking. The single iPad and that's it looks very dull after awhile. This car with its carbon fiber bucket seats,higher grade feeling steering wheel, carbon exterior, HUD, and just overall feel and look makes it feel like a racecar. Perfect blend of sports car and luxury which if u only had a tesla youd never know. Being young still I jus love the experience of head turning sports cars and head turning engines as long as their reliable ones!

    That trip to SF was terrible because you are waiting to fully charge. I drove my wifes Model Y form Central FL to Delaware and back and each charge took maybe 20mins. I have to small kids so we were stopping every two hours for bathroom breaks, so it all worked out. Everyone know that last 80-100% charge is slow because it ramps down.

    How much does the performance (0-60) drop per 10% of the battery going down??
    like .05 seconds per 10%?

    • @jojoswhips
      @jojoswhips  Рік тому +1

      I don’t think that bad honestly even with 37% battery I was running 9.56-9.62 back to back and with 83% I ran a 9.46 at the track. I’m gonna order a dragy soon to test it because that would be interesting to see

    • @jojoswhips
      @jojoswhips  Рік тому

      Maybe .05 every 25-30%. Even when the car has 10% it will still throw you back in the seat pretty violently but make sure your by a charger 🤣🤣 or else you will probably run out of battery

    May I ask what wheels are you having in very nice!
    Also do you experience a drop in range with these wheels versus the original 22in wheels (better aerodynamic from factory?)
    Thanks.

    You need to learn the basics of charging on a trip.... And how to treat your battery to keep it healthy. The model S is a fantastic road trip vehicle.... Simply follow the guidance of the Car as to length of charge.
