Did some edits to this video to avoid any misconceptions: In the intro of this video I'm talking about the VeneerTok people in Atlanta where they are selling 2 day "veneer tech" courses as I covered in my last video on VeneerTok you can find here: ua-cam.com/video/3DisvMOs5rk/v-deo.html We then move onto covering the experience of the Influencer "Wintrr" with Smile Dental Center Miami where Dra. Linda Ortiz seems to be the face of it on social media. Her lawyer confirmed that she is a dentist but licensed only in Colombia.
So it wasn't as much of a scam as previously thought? I just dont understand the sympathy for these "victims?" No medical procedure is 100% safe and these people are taking a risk everytime they undergo a procedure. Supporting these levels of vanity is just wrong.
@@anonymity2882 They are illegally practicing dentistry. Just because you are a licensed dentist in Columbia doesn't mean you are in America. And Columbia's dentistry knowledge....uff da. No way.
Winter Blanco went viral around a year ago crying about a botched BBL. Now here she is a year later crying about botched veneers. You’d THINK after the first botched cosmetic procedure, she’d do research before getting another one, but NOPE. It’s awful that she’s in so much pain, but as the old saying goes: “fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.”
The fact young people with normal teeth think they should have all their teeth ground away so they can get a fake white smile is part of the problem. First rule of surgery: if something is working properly, don't remove it.
Exactly, some people like me, only 27 years old, have to do something because my teeth got so bad during Covid I now need a full implant done. I can't even eat food anymore.
@@cleopatra1633it happens faster then you think if you get depressed. You don't brush properly and eat a lot of 'comfort food's. I went from never having a cavity to having several in just a few years. Cavities are actually contagious, all it takes is neglecting one cavity and the teeth beside and above it get infected, and it continues.
I work as dental technican ( 4 year education) and usely not even dentist do veneers themself. There made separatley in a lab by a technican and it usely takes up to 2 weeks with multiple fitings. Seeing those people do them like that is horrifying.😱😬
I'm a dental tech at a lab and I will tell you 100% that EVERY dentist office I go to lists the names of all the dentists working there on the freaking door. The list the names of the dentists on the websites, they give blurbs about their practice and experience and everything like that. If a place tells you over the phone that they cannot tell you the name of the dentist who will be consulting with you, that is a MASSIVE red flag and I would highly recommend staying as far away from them as possible.
right i go to a place they show their pictures cus they are proud to show who their doctors are. a place that's ashamed of their doctors shouldn't be in business or have those doctors.
I hope people listen to us. I’m a dental assistant for an orthodontist and I wish they’d stop and take the time to do it right with braces or Invisalign
Right?? I see names, pictures etc etc etc, a couple offices I’ve been to, I saw certificates and other documents, etc, they would showcase on the wall, they show everything related to their work
Bruh as a 29 year old who needs full dental implants (or dentures) due to Xerstomia and TMJ and can’t afford that shit…y’all need to be more thankful for your teeth. If they’re not breaking and giving you life threatening abscesses and agony every day, honey, your teeth are fine.
Check if your surgeon, dentist, etc offers CareCredit. I’ve just finished my last set of implant posts from a surgeon, and the ones I have used will offer no interest if paid in full in usually 6 months - 1 year.
I'm right here with you, I will be getting a full dental implant because my teeth got so messed up, I'm only 27 and also have nowhere near the money for that. I live everyday worried, can't eat the food I want anymore and stopped talking to people all around. It really does suck and I only hope I can get work done this year.
Seriously, I had to get 2 crowns and have gum issues from a long time ED and despite my teeth still looking fine, they were basically crumbling in the back from acid erosion. It’s a damn shame seeing these early 20s kids getting veneers and so many of them aren’t suited for it so within a decade their teeth will be gone and they’ll need all on 4 implants. It’s a damn shame
1 - getting veneers when you dont need them is stupid 2 - getting veneers for cheap is really stupid 3 - getting mad when professionals charge for professional work is INSANE Sad for her but let it be a lesson for the rest of the people, go to a professional and fix YOUR TEETHS, dont waste money in this fake shit
as a 45 yr old that needs to replace all my teeth, I can say you are spot on. 60k for full implants that are done cvorrectly. The most expensive place was also the one with highest ratings and best results. DONT CHEAP OUT ON MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE......I tried getting my teeth done at a local University by students and now i need the ones they "fixed" pulled. So much for saving money
U forgot 4-these ppl are so ignorant to how life really works. It's due to being chronically online. If u watch tiktok and believe anything u see on there u need help. They are all so entitled thanks to the internet. I'm glad they have these type of things happen to them....maybe they will learn how life actually works and not continue to make these "so out of touch with real life" moves. I mean seriously...who the f goes to tiktok and decides "Hey, that's the doctor for me...yunno the one dancing in the video"... I mean seriously what kind of world do we live in these days........
I feel her so much. I have severe tmj and it really is hell. I’ve been in pain every single second of every single day for 8 years now, her being emotionally distraught over this is 100% valid. Chronic pain is agonizing.
As someone who has worked in the dental industry, even when done by a professional dentist veneers are often not recommended for most people, they aren't a magic fix to your teeth and will take lifetime upkeep and renewal at some point. And to quote one dentist when people wanted bright white veneers "do you want to look like a fridge?"
the only thing you can do is use whitening strips to at least get them marginally off-white, otherwise if they don't look british then don't worry about it.
If a dentist is equating veneers to fridge, chiklets or whatever... run away. They're likely only good for basic annual checkups. Look for an AACD accredited dentist who understands the realistic smile design and tooth anatomy (imperfections, curvature, translucency, light reflection, etc.)
@@mtzano I think you're misunderstanding his point. He was telling people NOT to get super white veneers because real teeth don't look like that and you'd look dumb af with them
@@mtzano lmao you're drinking the kool aid of a cosmetic Medical practitioner, the dentist is right, your teeth shouldn't look like a new ceramic or porcelain sink ffs, and what is this smile anatomy BS 🤣🤣🤣. Brush your teeth, get them checked for cavities or nerve damage, use whitening strips once in a while, the end
The ONLY discount dental care you should ever accept is if you get it from a dental school. Because while yeah a student is doing it, they're being supervised by someone who knows what to do fully.
I had a dental implant done when they first came out at Montefiore dental school in NY and because of how difficult it was to set the implant in front, the teacher did it it has lasted since around 1997.
I had a friend who went to a dental college to get work done and it was amazing. You get stdent doctors at hospitals all the time, you just don't know it.
I had a root canal done at Rutgers Dental School back in 2022 and it still holds up. The student doctor who did it consulted many times with the professor who’s also a licensed dentist. Best part is that my insurance covered it. Sure I basically was her patient so she could pass her final year of dental school but it was worth it and my crown still looks great.
Going to a dental school for my teeth is the best thing i’ve ever done, these kids want to impress their teacher and have all the reason to do their best, all whilst being supervised by someone a step above a normal dentist by teaching it to others. They’re also extremely sweet and make it alot more personal.
On one hand I feel sad for people who got their teeth destroyed by these fake venner techs. But also on the other hand, come on guys if you are getting something done on your teeth or any part of your body please go to actual doctors who study 6+ hours a day for 4-5 years straight. For dentists it's even harder to do, please do not cheap out on your health.
@@kris_jenner_is_a_cryptid_ for real, these idiots are living in a Family Guy world or something, people can’t be this stupid to be going in THOUSANDS 🤦🏽♂️
Thank you, figured I'd be the crazy one to call them out on this. Yes it sucks that these aholes are out there but also, don't get your doctor recommendation from freaking tiktok
Where are you people getting 4 to 5 years? Dentists are doctors they get phds which take 8 years. Where do you guys keep getting this number from? Where do you live that a dentist is that uneducated?
As someone from Europe, I must say, that I'm extremely happy that things like these are almost impossible here in my country. Yes, of course, scamming and shady businesses also exist here, but especially in the medical field, it's almost impossible to open up a shady/scammy business! I'm super sorry for those who've experienced such tragedies and truly hope, that winters gets the help she needs and deserves. Good luck to them all!
What Europeans do is take EasyJet to Turkey, where you get the same crap. And this is why European dentists are issuing similar warnings to not get bargain-basement veneers done.
This reminds me of a dentist in the 80’s -90’s that performed unnecessary dental work on children. He left kids with mouths full of metal. All out of sadistic greed. 😢
A UA-camr had recently did a video on him. I think the most messed up thing about that was he kept his license for far too long. But that’s the thing… it takes *a lot* for a medical professional to have their license revoked. It’s astonishing! And then even if it is revoked, a medical professional can move to a different state and get a new license. I think I’ve only heard of a few cases where the revoking of a license was “nationwide”. The dentist I went to who gave me TMJ (I’m surprised she said she went to doctors and they didn’t know what she had. I was diagnosed with TMJ at 15. A few months after my botched dental surgery by a doctor who *knew* the dentist who did my surgery) to this day some 26 years later, still have problems with my jaws.
I have heard of that monster. If there is a way to make money, you better believe someone is going to exploit it. That's how we have cancer scammers, and begging syndicates. There are more but I am unsure what you call them in english.
@@leileyaravencroftI really hate when doctors and shit complain about having to get malpractice insurance when we know the only 2 ways they'll get punished is if they actually did something VERY AWFUL multiple times in a row. (Always multiple, thinking about the nurses that killed people and always just got fired and pushed to the next hospital was insane, even if it's nurse not doctor, they just push it and don't want to deal with it) Or The hospital hates them. Like a personal grudge for whatever reason.
Or people do it for clout. She is a TikTok influencer. My bet is that she was going to get it done expecting it to be perfect, then make tons of videos talking about it and then going to their Instagram to tell him how much they are promoting their store to get some profit from it. She says her life is ruined, but yet she is able to get around and do normal stuff.
I’ve worked as a chairside dental assistant, I cannot stress enough how dangerous this is. Even just from a sanitation perspective, I highly doubt they’re spore testing the autoclaves, using the proper sanitizers and cleaning techniques, etc. I am willing to bet money we’re going to start seeing patients at these places popping hot for HIV and hepatitis.
Our society is so sick, people are seeking out an elective cosmetic proceedure without consulting a dentist, they are finding the technicians to do this on social media, then when it goes wrong they go back to social media to complain and seek emotional support Everything about this is sick, the scammers doing it, the fools seeking it out, and the wreckless attitude of getting medical proceedures that carry risk when they are completely unneeded
For real! There are no real victims here only greedy scammers and greedy idiots who got scammed by an obvious scam because they did absolutely no research outside of watching a TikTok video, we have an entire generation of infantalized “adults”.
@@Skywalkerog_ Think about it. If you were a medieval peasant, there were no doctors readily available let alone a dentist. And people who could actually read were rare. Another option would be going to a monastery where monks lived who could read and were educated in medicine. I'll give you another weird example. If you had a broken bone that needed setting, and couldnt find a doctor, you had another option: a man who works with human bones a lot and therefore knows human anatomy: the local executioner/graveyard keeper.
@williamfoxx3277 depends. Both work but the dentist one is faster and less work on your end. But also more expensive. The dental one I did took a week or 2. But it really comes down to what you're trying to get out of it. How soon you want results. And how much you're willing to spend. Also the difference between your question and the situation in the video is extreme and not at all the same thing.
What I find even more surprising than this business not being shut down or sued into oblivion yet is how many people will go spend $5-10k without even checking reviews for the place or business they are about to spend that money at. I mean, I look up reviews for god damn toilet paper before I spend $14 at Costco 😂. Seriously though, these people find a place that does Veneers, a product that usually costs anywhere between $2-5k PER TOOTH, for $4.5k for 20 teeth and they don't even get a little suspicious? Not one alarm bell going off? That's like buying a Benz from Temu for $40. Come on now 😂
I don't know what's worse. The people being stupid enough to get this operation or the same people having a stupid amount of money TOO waste for sketchy operations
It's just peak stupidity. I feel sorry for them but at the same time, it's common sense??? Like bruh it's not hard at all to assume getting some cheaper alternatives for medical stuff is a bad idea
Whilst I sympathise, getting dental treatment off of TikTok is the height of stupidity. Even worse, most of these people's teeth were fine to begin with. People simply have no common sense any more.
I feel similar. These scammers need to be sent to jail. But also, we need to teach people to be better at identifying scammers. It's still not the victims' faults. But this was 100% avoidable just by checking the company's reviews a single time on any platform other than Instagram.
The vast majority of the time, if you see someone living a lavish lifestyle and ask yourself how they can afford it, the answer is massive credit card debt.
Ok now, yeah they are super dumb for playing with THE ONLY SET OF ADULT TEETH THEY EVER GET and choosing to go cheap to some back alley tik tok veneers place...but dang you want to arrest them too?
@JanoyCresva my guy they are doing procedures they never went to school for so they ain't certified in any way and are also trying sell classes so more people can become scammer
These fake dentists giving people veneers are basically on the same level as the South Park characters from the episode where the boys give Butters a home liposuction procedure in his own Livingroom.
Short story: go to an actual licensed dentist and pay up vs cheap out, multiple complications, pay 2-4 times or more while trying to fix it. No guarantee.
This sucks. Scammers are asshats and should be put in jail. HOWEVER, can people take some personal responsibility??? Stop getting important shit done like your teeth or other surgeries based off of effing tiktok. So tired of seeing people with apparently zero common sense thinking oh it's tiktok it should be fine. Like wtf??? Do some bloody research!!!
Maybe they have you sign a waiver like some tattoo shops do that says you're aware that there might be issues & they're not liable for it if it happens 🤷♀️ Given that these are _actual_ medical procedures being performed without a license though, I don't think that a waiver like that will hold up
@@DasSpaceAce I’m not a lawyer, but I remember learning in my Contract Law class that a contract is unenforceable if it involves something illegal. Since a waiver is essentially a contract, or at least very close, I would imagine that it would not be enforceable here.
@@DasSpaceAce It won't, even if they were licensed just saying you're not liable doesn't always mean you can't be held accountable. Let's say you get an infection from improper tattoo equipment the liability waiver won't stop them for getting in trouble for not being up to regulation.
REALLY hard to feel bad for this lady. She went and got work done through a non licensed dentist. Not to mention there is people out there with way worse life threatening injuries/conditions, that aren’t trauma dumping all their problems on the internet.
While I feel bad for victims of these schemes, we can't exempt them from fault themselves. Like, how can you expect a proceedure that's almost 10 times cheaper to be as secure and effective as the one's made by real dentists. I fear that this won't stop until deaths start pilling up
I would also add to what you said, not only is it ten times cheaper but also imagine thinking that the “veneer tech” they’re seeing can learn in 2 days what takes a real dentist 8 years in school and a year interning to learn.
Lol people get dumber and dumber by the day. Like if you aint a legit dentist, you aint coming near my teeth. Them shits are too important to be letting some bootleg backdoor "veneer tech" touch them 😂

Im honestly not sure if it will ever have a stop put to it by law because the people going are: A. Idiots, and B. completely capable of shutting it down on their own. Literally if nobody goes to them for anything, they won't make any money and thus be forced to shut down. Not hard to put health first and just NOT go lol
As someone who suffers with TMJ (not from botched veneers thank god) it is SO PAINFUL like I get really bad headaches because of my TMJ to the point where I’ve cried and had full on depression meltdowns because of it. Some days I can barely move my face or smile or even talk. The things I’ve been doing to treat it include a night mouth guard, jaw exercises/stretches, relaxation techniques, pain relief jaw massages, and correcting my jaw position when I notice it getting wonky. There’s not exactly a correct answer to fixing it. Tooth/jaw pain really is something else. I can’t even imagine if what it would be like when it is caused by fake veneers on all/most of your teeth. Actual nightmare fuel.
yeah i had it when i was 13 and was taking a rotation of paracetamol and ibuprofen every 2 hours and there were day id ask to be sent home from school bc of it (which they didn’t bc they probably thought i was being dramatic). my jaw muscles were so tight, my dentist wanted to prescribe me diazepam but my parents weren’t keen on it bc of my age so i did physio instead which helped a lot. but my god, getting the impressions for my splint was horrendous bc they had to basically prise my jaw open to get the mould in. thankfully it’s so much better now, my jaw just permanently cracks whenever i open my mouth, i need to wear the splint at night. i only get flares occasionally when im really stressed
I’m so glad I’m a UA-cam dweller and not a TikTok idiot. I’ve never seen a video on UA-cam like “yeah I want to try that f*ck the risks” but it’s some kind of clout chasing disease that really resonates and emanates from TikTok
As someone who has dealt with TMJ pain for like the last 10 years. I can confirm it is terrible. It was giving me migraines earlier this year. Thankfully, I was finally able to afford physiotherapy. It has helped tremendously.

I’m so happy to see more youtubers talk about this. The amount of people going to these unlicensed frauds for veneers & lip fillers with out knowing they are unlicensed or that they need to have a license to be performing these type of activities is insane.
Without knowing they need to be licensed? Who doesn’t know you need to be licensed to do procedures like this? No adult should be that uninformed especially when they’re so chronically online, they could be using that time to research instead of finding TikTok medical advice. There is no excuse to not take 5 seconds to do a google search to see if something is legit or not and there’s also no excuse not to research if the place your going has good reviews (and if it isn’t legit then don’t go anyway). These are grown adults not babies and therefore should be held to s standard that is acceptable for grown adults to be held to. There are no true victims in this, only scammers and idiots and both are accountable for their actions.
@@IrishColin You’re right but you have to understand that a lot of people are extremely insecure and that makes them more vulnerable to making stupid decisions like going to an unlicensed technician to get something fixed. Also, a lot of people cannot afford to go to someone that is licensed because it’s often too expensive so when they see a low price to change something they dislike about themselves they jump to that opportunity. So yes ,you’re right they’re absolutely responsible for not taking that extra step to research but at the same time nobody should be taking advantage of them.
I have TMJ issues (not caused by dental work) and people really don’t understand how much of a nightmare it truly is unless they’ve been through it. It’s not JUST pain, TMJ issues can cause so many other issues as well. Migraines, dizziness, balance issues, strange sensations in your face, numbness, problems with your limbs, vision problems, etc. I have experienced all of these. I used to have trigeminal neuralgia in my face as well (which is literally called the s*!cide disease because of how unbearable it is) thank God it went away over time. Folks….The muscles and nerves in your face are NO joke. You do not want to play around with them, especially if you don’t have to. I have a lot of empathy for this lady because I know how horrible it is. Sadly her situation could have been avoided if she went to a proper dentist. TMJ issues can still happen even if you go to a proper dentist, but it’s far less likely since a real dentist is aware of these things. Please use your better judgement and never go to some TikTok dentist
Indeed. All people have to do is take a look at even just a few anatomy illustrations to see what structures are in your face: skin, muscles, bones, joints, fascia, nerves, blood supply... every single one of these can be adversely affected if you have an unqualified person operate on the area, to say nothing of other parts of the body a botched procedure can affect.
In the early '70s we moved here. My parents chose a doctor and dentist, etc. I had a large over-bite that needed fixed. and in '78 this quack dentist we were seeing convinced my Mom that he could do the work and straighten my teeth. Everyone else (who went to actual orthodontists) had braces that glued onto the front of the teeth and the wire was strung through those braces. The quack I was going to used metal bands that wrapped around each individual tooth and the wire was strung through that with little screws. Every couple weeks I'd have to go get the screws tightened. It was all excruciating. One day I was reading his "diplomas". He had a regular dentist diploma. He had 2 other "diplomas" that were from some night classes. Like maybe 4-6 once a week night classes that lasted a couple hours each night. (The classes he took on how to torture people with these antiquated braces.) I began BEGGING my Mom to take me to a real orthodontist. I told her what I saw. I begged for MORE THAN FOUR YEARS before she would finally listen. When we went to the first appointment with the Orthodontist, I still had the 1st molds taken of my teeth so I brought them along. The REAL orthodontist, after taking x-rays, explained to my Mom, that all that man did for MORE THAN FOUR YEARS was move my teeth back and forth. My parents let me start seeing the real Orthodontist. Thank the Lord... Except that now most of my teeth are gone. They've either fallen out or broken off and had to be removed. They just started chipping away where the bands had been on my teeth. I have 8 left and they will be coming out shortly so that I can get dentures. I should have had my parents open me a bank account instead of paying out all that money to the fake and real orthodontists. The icing on the cake... people think I'm a meth head because of my teeth or the lack there of. ~heavy sigh~ 👵🌞🐉☮💙🐸

11:00 you didn’t see a dentist in the first place, don’t blame them now. I just don’t understand trusting a weekend trained person over a dentist that went to school for years for a “deal”.
Vanity; it all boils down to being so obsessed with "the look" that ppl can't think straight. If you are flat-a$$ed, bucktoothed, crosseyed and baldheaded but EVERYTHING works, LEAVE IT ALONE. Learn to appreciate your health and sanity. Beauty is fleeting and if you are lucky enough to have it in your youth, thank your lucky stars. But EVENTUALLY we will all get old and wrinkly and cease to look "cute", so get off your damn phones and work on the state of your soul and character.

@@leenasonger3052 I can't help but play devil's advocate, coz she seems to convey that $80,000 is a lot of money for her, and it's hard to believe that she's taking an $80,000 hit (and possibly more) just to tell people on tiktok out of the kindness of her heart. She'd already posted the review on Yelp, any NDA would only include disclosure after the refund, and it sounds like the amount she's spent is a big part of her being upset. She's obviously gone through a raw deal but either she's very wealthy and the money isn't a lot for her, or she had the initial mishap and the rest is all embellishment. It all seems too weird.

I've had braces, facial reconstruction, and so much dental work it's crazy. Messing with your mouth and jaw is NO JOKE. I essentially don't have a jaw joint on my right side, and shoulder work is important. It can mess with your neck and spine too, because your alignment starts with your head.
i had braces plus those awful rubberband things you have to use to correct overbites. I got so sick of that i did it about halfway then gave up and stopped using it. that was when i was like 13. i have a marginal overbite since then, im 32 now, but it's not life-ending. it just makes eating sandwiches stupidly annoying as the sandwich falls apart when biting.
I'm sceptical about buying a dang car care brush on TikTok for less than a dollar, and there's people out there getting whole-ass surgeries, it's just mind-blowing to me.
I laugh at this because beauty standards are so ridicuolous and people like winter don't focus on their actual character but rather swindeling people with their looks or receiving attention like the attention seeking person they are. So this is what they get for cutting corners and chasing perfection rather than working on character.
Damn! She's so rich, she went for dumbsh!t cosmetics, and when it effed up she DIDN'T TAKE THE REFUND. I would say "F" but I don't think she deserves it🙃
She is like. I spent like 80k on all of this. Lady.. Some of us wish we can make ends meat at the end of the month. Oh no! I lost 80k and my life is ruined because I can't take accountability for my own actions.
My first reaction when it comes to adults and able bodied/mind people is always, "What did you think would happen?" If it's too good to be true, then it probably is. However, it's never that simple. While they have to take accountability for their own decisions, they definitely deserve sympathy and recourse. Taking advantage of people because they can easily be taken advantage of doesn't make it acceptable. I hope these shady veneer peddlers face consequences for this.
To some degree you think with several years of 1 star reviews you gotta think that people making life-changing decisions like teeth/plastic surgery/etc would do SOME level of review checks before taking the next step.
Been there, I even got an antidepressant prescribed because the doctors said they didn’t believe I was in pain. Thank God I found a real doctor that told me to do another bacterial infection screening, and we found the infection was never cleared! 🙏🙏🙏
I got TMJ years ago from an improperly fitted cap from a well established family dentist. I finally had to have someone remove the tooth entirely and it took months for the pain to go away. I feel SO bad for this girl. I pray she finds help for that pain, I had it only on one side, I can't imagine what she is going through.
I had a busted wisdom tooth from a hidden bone in a hamburger meat, and it took months to save up the $$$ to have the work done ($700 for one tooth removal - no insurance). I was eating asprin like candy and any single thing that touched it flared the nerves up like mad and caused pain that lasted half an hour for each trigger point. Once I finally got it pulled out, I had to eat horse pill sized antibiotics for 3 weeks every single day and then it took another 2 months for the nerves to calm down and stop hurting even long after the tooth was removed. i was feeling it clear to my brain halfway up my skull. Any work on your teeth has to be done with precision and care and no fucking around. major tooth pain will literally end your life and stop you from being able to even eat or function.
There is an actual page on the Florida board of Dentistry for you to report places like this. It also lets you look up if they(business) are certified. You can look up them up for free but not a lot of people know about. For the insurance side, usually a lot of insurances don't cover cosmetic situations that went bad. Especially if the place if not certified, again it depends and varies but usually that's how it goes. STILL, its really messed up how these people got taken advantage of because they wanted to improve their smile.
Medical might, but dental definitely won't. If it leads to other things, (like an infection and needing surgery for it), they'll probably cover it. They likely won't cover replacing teeth, however...
Lesson learned, if you want cheap veneers just get a set of those retainers that look like veneers. You can just take them off when you want to and you don't destroy your real teeth.
There’s actually veneers that are made without the drilling, and are insanely cheap compared to the full veneer service. And you don’t have to go anywhere. But you have to do your own casting of your teeth and send everything back and then you get the veneers. They’re friggin amazing. And they’re almost soft if that makes sense. They are super thin. They adhere to your actual teeth and because of the casting you do, they design each set to match and fit your teeth and mouth perfectly. It’s so cool But it only works if you have teeth or are missing like one or two. If you’re missing too many it doesn’t work.
@1llustrousking I disagree, the fact is that these kinds of things truly did not happen in nearly the volume they do today in days before social media. It simply was seen as socially unacceptable. The issue is that back then, communication was less broadly reaching and rapid. Now, people can shill their scam "businesses" and gain traction at a much faster rate than regulatory powers can catch up.
I went by Asprin Dental in my area and they tried to charge me $1,200 just to clean my Teeth and have special treatment. When I asked them why am I being charged they didn't take my health insurance which by the way I have Medicare and United Healthcare but they didn't take it because it wasn't "part of their network" UGH! I hate this stupid healthcare system.
This is so much more than them not accepting insurance. At least Aspen Dental has dentists that went to school. These places in the video, the employees did not go to school. They took an awful two day course. Operating on someone without a license and medical degree is illegal. Anyone that uses medical equipment should have the proper training and qualifications. Places that don’t accept your insurance is annoying that is for sure. But when a place puts your life at risk and can’t even tell you the name of the dentist and tells someone their teeth are like that now because it was the cheaper option they choose. It’s bad. Cheap or not, medical procedures should and have to be done right.
This is why you shouldn't ever mess with your teeth. The damage these fake dental ppl do is going to cost SO MUCH MORE than anything these fake ppl are offering. I have TMJ. I've had it since I was a kid and my jaw has gotten stuck (jaw lock) sometimes because of it. You can't even eat. Only soft foods like broth, yogurt, etc until it unlocks. My heart hurts for her. It's a tough thing to have. I hope she can find relief and heal. I wish nothing but the best for her. ❤️
Yeah… a repeated history of bullying people for their looks, has gotten like 2 life threatening BBLs and apparently didnt learn from them, and had beautiful healthy teeth beforehand.
I one time saw documentary about TMJ and it was referred to as “The suicide”. As it drives people sometimes to kill themselves. It’s terrible, this poor woman.
That's Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN). TMJ is no joke though. I have TN and have also dealt with some TMJ issues in the past. I feel for her so much and don't with either on anyone. Good(ish) news is that the mouthguard she has to wear should help reset everything painwise.
These woman act like it’s getting your nails done! I paid 4k for each of my gold crowns from a real dentist and 1 had to be redone cause it had a small gap, this takes alot of skill and expertise to really do crowns right that’ll last long term and you CANT CHEAP OUT ON YOUR HEALTH!!
Veneers breaking/falling out is so horrifying. So predatory, and I feel so sorry for people that have to shell out to fix. I don’t understand how this is still happening
I don’t! This ridiculous idea that people shouldn’t be held accountable for their decisions is what’s causing all this. There will always be scammers no matter what is done about it and yes they should be arrested when found but at the same time the only real way to decrease the amount of scammers is to describes the amount of victims. The scammer made a choice to be greedy and scam people, the “victim” made a choice to not do any research before going through with an expensive medical procedure all based on a TikTok video they watched, I’m sorry but that makes them either vain, greedy, or stupid or a combination. Buyer beware is a thing for a reason and that’s to say that people need to take responsibility for their own lives and choices, there’s a big difference between a scam where they make it look real and a scam like this where it’s clearly van on the side of the road style procedures.
Hey now Steven did really well on removing my appendix. I've been sick for 2 years but ny appendix didn't kill me. The surgery room was a 5 person tent next to Steven's home tent. Homeless surgeons lives matter

Yes and now winter is paying big time. Like she said, over 80k to fix the damage. Insurance will consider that ALL cosmetic unless it’s a threat to her immediate health. Especially dental insurance, they don’t gaf about anything
I have TMJ. Some days it’s so severe I can’t chew and I have to go hungry or sip on melted ice cream if we have any. The usual solutions don’t work for me due to other chronic illness so I get having practically no options for relief. My heart goes out to anyone who got scammed into having to deal with it.
They have already hurt many people and it takes tens of thousands to fix. To get all new teeth, it can be $100,000.00 But professional Veneers for all your front teeth they are 12 to 20 grand roughly. So if you are only paying a small amount, you are getting your teeth destroyed. Zoom whitening doesnt work on fillings. So if you have fiĺings in your front teeth like many if us do, you will have some whiter patches abd then the stained fillings still look like crap.
I am a doctor of physical therapy and I work with patients who have TMJ issues as well as ACL tears rotator cuff really every body part aside from pelvic floor. It’s such a shame that these beautiful ladies are going through all of this suffering. It makes me angry for them. Word of advice for anyone going through TMJ symptoms, bite deviations, clicking/locking of the jaw, don’t just rely on your primary care and specialists, look into physical therapy as well. Most doctors are calloused and not up to date on current research. They are forgetful of conservative interventions outside of their scope, and forget to refer patients to physical therapy. The TMJ is a joint too with muscles and tendons so symptoms can be addressed with manual stretching and strengthening of the supporting muscles!!!
I'm going to be blunt here, and it may seem insensitive, but I don't care: If you genuinely think going to one of these hacks after all these red flags like not being officially licensed or too good to be true prices, you DESERVE to get scammed. It's very obvious to anyone with common sense that you shouldn't trust them, but common sense ain't so common anymore.
@Rebell-mi4zu Just like you don’t get a trophy for treating these grown adults like helpless children. People like you running to comfort people no matter how many bad choices they make just enables this, if someone does something as incredibly stupid as getting medical advice from TikTok then proceeding with it having done zero research then they get what they get. They are adults and should be treated like adults which means expecting them do do their due diligence.
@@Rebell-mi4zunor should you praise people for their stupidity. The crying ain't go cut it, you learn and stop trying to go for the cheap option. @@Rebell-mi4zu No he's right. I'm done feeling sorry for people who keeps falling for blatant scams and ignore all the red flags. Especially when EVERYONE knows the level of schooling required to meet the MINIMUM to get certified. Plus, these patients are responsible for not doing their due diligence to ensure they're seeing a real doctor and not some dental version of a motel plastic surgeon. The 101 crypto and NFT scams people keeps falling for for the past couple of years or so had made me realize some people are just too stupid or too greedy to save themselves and only cry victim when they lose everything after being told REPEATEDLY it's a scam or it's too good to be true.
The girl who spent 80k in two years clearly had the funds for correct porcelain veneers if she wanted it doesn’t make sense to skimp out on something like that
So, I asked my family members who are dentists about these fake "veneer techs" and they said that even if people are reporting them to the board, it's not going to do anything because, more than likely, they aren't registered with the board. They also mention that most dentists would rarely ever recommend veneers because of the long-term and expensive after care that is required for veneers. It genuinely is and should be a last resort type of recommendation and even they don't like veneers, but admit if their client is adamant about getting them, even after telling them the long-term costs of them, then they will do it for them. They continued to say that the only unfortunate solution for these victims is to just go to a certified dentist and have them try to fix it. Don't know much about legal stuff and no one in our family wanted to suffer through law school haha
It baffles me that a place who has caused this much harm is allowed to stay in business especially if they aren’t properly licensed. I don’t know how she doesn’t have a case for a lawsuit.
As someone who also suffers from chronic pain, my heart goes out to Winter. People do not understand how severe chronic pain is unless they experience something similar to it, and it does ruin your life. People DO call you crazy, your friends and family DO abandon you, and you can’t do anything about it. Many times medicine does fail. Society fails you.
Maybe I sound like a monster for saying this, but if you get scammed by Tiktok to get your teeth worked on, you deserve everything you've gotten. That's a next level of dumb.
Don’t feel bad or insult yourself for saying that, it’s the lack of people saying what you said that causes this stuff. This idea that everyone should be able to make whatever decisions they want and constantly be affirmed in those decisions and told it’s not their fault when it goes wrong is what’s lead to this crap. Not every idea or person is deserving or affirmation, calling out stupidity and dumb decisions is good for society, having standards is good for society.
That one girl honestly breaks my heart. I have TMJ from natural causes i.e. muscle tension and an off-kilter bite. It's painful and very unpleasant, but hankfully I've figured out ways to manage it somewhat. If I got my TMJ from someone claiming to be a medical professional I would go absolutely ballistic.
12:55 For those that need a bit of context on the TMJ disorder this TikTok dentist caused her, that dentist essentially RUINED THAT WOMANS LIFE. I’ve struggled with it for 5 years and it takes skilled practitioners (dentists, doctors, every specialist you can run to) and no one knows what is going on. If you have a TMJ disorder, you’re in pain everyday. On the worst pain days, you a) will not wish that pain on your worst enemy, and b) you will wish for the release of de@th (just being honest). Some days you can function to an extent after taking more pain killers than someone with a broken neck, other days you can’t even stand being awake, BECAUSE ITS PAIN FROM THE MOMENT YOU WAKE UP TILL YOU GO TO BED. I really feel for her, like I said, that fake dentist ruined her life. Aside from the physical trauma, there’s also a psychological effect it has on you. It’s like you’re being tortured everyday, but you may never really know what is causing your pain, let alone know how to fix it. Hope she gets better someday
I've had porcelain veneers put on professionally for about 5 years now. They are never an issue and I've only ever worked a temporary. And with dental insurance(only like 20 bucks a month or something from most providers) it really wasn't that bad to pay for. Never settle for less than the best when it comes to your health

We then move onto covering the experience of the Influencer "Wintrr" with Smile Dental Center Miami where Dra.

Short story: go to an actual licensed dentist and pay up vs cheap out, multiple complications, pay 2-4 times or more while trying to fix it. No guarantee.

Unauthorized practice of medicine+medical issues directly after= easy lawsuit. I still have no idea why she’s saying it isn’t possible
Maybe they have you sign a waiver like some tattoo shops do that says you're aware that there might be issues & they're not liable for it if it happens 🤷♀️
Given that these are _actual_ medical procedures being performed without a license though, I don't think that a waiver like that will hold up
@@DasSpaceAce I’m not a lawyer, but I remember learning in my Contract Law class that a contract is unenforceable if it involves something illegal.

(The classes he took on how to torture people with these antiquated braces.)
I began BEGGING my Mom to take me to a real orthodontist.

@@leenasonger3052 I can't help but play devil's advocate, coz she seems to convey that $80,000 is a lot of money for her, and it's hard to believe that she's taking an $80,000 hit (and possibly more) just to tell people on tiktok out of the kindness of her heart.
I love how compassionate you are to the victims, I think a lot forget that education can come with without ridicule.
I laugh at this because beauty standards are so ridicuolous and people like winter don't focus on their actual character but rather swindeling people with their looks or receiving attention like the attention seeking person they are. So this is what they get for cutting corners and chasing perfection rather than working on character.

I feel SO bad for this girl. I pray she finds help for that pain, I had it only on one side, I can't imagine what she is going through.
so sorry you went through that. hope she can heal from the pain as you did
I had a busted wisdom tooth from a hidden bone in a hamburger meat, and it took months to save up the $$$ to have the work done ($700 for one tooth removal - no insurance).
They likely won't cover replacing teeth, however...
i feel bad for absolutely none of these people.
Lesson learned, if you want cheap veneers just get a set of those retainers that look like veneers. You can just take them off when you want to and you don't destroy your real teeth.
Those are useless. They are the most uncomfortable things.
or just don't do it. quit fucking around with your teeth.
It’s so cool
But it only works if you have teeth or are missing like one or two. If you’re missing too many it doesn’t work.
As I always say, social media will be the downfall of society…..

It should not be called social media, it should be called Social Disease.
Do you have dental insurance as part of your Medicare coverage? If not, that’s probably why they were charging that much.
Unless you have special dental insurance or dental provisions in your health insurance, regular health insurance like Medicare will not cover dental.

There will always be scammers no matter what is done about it and yes they should be arrested when found but at the same time the only real way to decrease the amount of scammers is to describes the amount of victims.
At this point, find a dentist willing to pull them all and give you dentures.
Ur not wrong homie, they deserve every ounce of it for falling for these scams
Agreed but at this point the government should get involved considering these people aee to stupid to figure it out for themselves
This, pretty much. If someone thinks social media is a good place to source medical services, they get what they deserve.
Caveat emptor.
@@enriquetorres7936nah you guys are weird, straight up like
Omg, the whole dentist industry should get involved in taking this company down...she is putting shame to actual caring dentist in medical industry 😮
Seconding this.
Found your channel about a week ago and have made my way through about half of your vids. Love what you do my guy!
Welcome!! Thank you so much for checking out the channel!
I've had porcelain veneers put on professionally for about 5 years now. They are never an issue and I've only ever worked a temporary. And with dental insurance(only like 20 bucks a month or something from most providers) it really wasn't that bad to pay for. Never settle for less than the best when it comes to your health
I couldn’t imagine saying I got my teeth done by a tiktoker 😂
She ruined her own life……as usual no accountability for her choices
