God bless her . Teeth are definitely a blessing we don’t always appreciate. Dental healthcare should be affordable for everyone. So glad this woman has been able to put everything behind her and remain positive. Loss of a smile is very humbling.
The prices in western countries are high for a reason - because they do things properly to a standard with properly trained and certified dentists and doctors unlike the hacks overseas. Look what happened to the lady here...if she stumped up the 26k initially in the UK she would've been fine.
I had my teeth done in Turkey. The consultation was in a hotel in Dublin before they would accept you for surgery. They explained everything in detail and the choice was mine. They did individual crowns and bridges where I was already missing teeth. That was back in 2015. Yes, they put me up in a hotel and accepted payment by bank transfer. I guess I was lucky.
@@jasonhammett8275 yes, they will need replacing. Had done in Canada and they lasted fifteen years or so but needed replacing due to gum recession so I assume these will be the same. It is now 9 years since I had them done. Warning is always given that they will only last 10 to 15 years.
I had my teeth done from Turkey around 5 years ago, cost me around £3,500 and its going great. A few of my friends have been after me and are also really happy. Out of a 1000, you will most probably get a few that have trouble, just as like in any country including the UK!

@@jasonhammett8275I'm sorry but my finances NHS dentist absolutely ruined his teeth. He used to have lovely teeth that looked perfectly fine and now they are fu..ed. So it's not true that dentists here will not damage healthy teeth at all
It depends on your age. Grinding down perfectly healthy teeth can go wrong in so many ways. There is no dental procedure that lasts forever. 20 years down the road, you will probably need to get it redone. Unfortunately, you won’t have much of your tooth left to work with. You may end up with dentures before 50. Placing crowns on all your teeth should never be done unless the tooth is severely damaged!
I have Multiple sclerosis and an NHS dentist. I'm in terrible pain she won't help me. I had a gap between my two front teeth oh 45 years closed up and my teeth are beginning to cross over. Unless I pay her, I can't afford 😊to. And I have wisdom tooth won't come through no space. Its just more pain ❤❤❤
Sorry to hear that. You can ask an NHS dentist to start a payment plan, and pay a certain amount when you can. I know that’s not that helpful, but it’s something. Mention the pain and see what they can do. No harm in asking. ❤
So very sorry for this poor lady. A friend of mine had the same treatment in Turkey and he had a complete nightmare. Plus his teeth are luminous and look bizarre. People need to be warned against this con.
My dad had cancer for years as it kept coming back. The chemo caused him to lose hid 4 front teeth and because it was so expensive in brazil, he took about 10 years to finally get a proper set of teeth. It's crazy expensive how much any dental work is.
Someone needs to tell Josie that "run of the mill" refers to average, normal, everyday. Where as "been through the mill" refers to having an arduous, gruelling or physically tiresome or painful experience.
I went to Dentatur in turkey and had 6 implants on the bottom and 6 implants on the top, I went there on recommendation of friends I did my research on the company looked at reviews and even had video calls with them, my husband and I couldn’t be happier the clinic was amazing and they kept us informed throughout our procedure, I couldn’t be happier. This lady although I have sympathy with her she did not do any research on the company between my husband and I we paid £17000 but you get what you pay for
@@janebouchier research is difficult, they all say number one clinic. I went by recommendations and they royally messed mine up. Lots of positive reviews unfortunately reviews are left too early before problems start. People are too scared to talk because they get threatened of being sued which is nonsense, they can’t, neither can we because of cost. Couple of years down the line problems will start. My dentist has seen loads of young people 2 years later having implants or dentures. It’s will be an epidemic of toothless people
Couldn't agree more. I live in Turkey since 2008 have had many trips to dentists here and all have been exceptional but I was living in a up market area of Istanbul and my wife is Turkish so I had help finding the best Dr and clinics so my experiences were always positive and I had some serious sergery's some 6hrs in the hot seat. Glad you and your husband had a great experience I want to help many more have that too coming here because it is here in abundance. 🙏 Best
@@clarebrad6002 Hi again Clare, I didnt realise you had come to Turkey and had a negative experience, genuinely I'm saddend to hear that. I wish our paths had crossed earlier so I could've helped you get the very best treatment available here. I truly hope you are on the road to recovery and in better health. To suggest that all people who have come to Turkey and get treatment will result in problems down the line is coming from a place of anger, which I totally get, but not all will have your unfortunate experience or ever will have issues. Maybe name the clinic or dentist to avoid others repeating your experience? Food for thought. I do sincerely wish you the very best and hope you have recovered fully. Best🙏
This interview has nothing to do with reality. Turkish hospitals are top-notch institutions and there is no way that you cannot separate a real hospital or a clinic from an unregistered health facility. If you choose to undergo a surgery in an unregistered place, you will surely suffer from consequences, but that is the case anywhere in the World. I am sure she knew exactly what that clinic was about, but went ahead with it anyway due to the fact that the price was cheaper.
@@ObjectorofInvasion Not the case. They are registered with Turkish ministry of health but means nothing because of lack of regulations. The very best in Turkey are the same price as uk. Dental tourism is the problem. Great technology but buying the best drill doesn’t make you a good carpenter. The amount of shoddy work being pushed out is alarming but you only hear the good, give it a couple of years then problems begin. Uk concentrate on keeping your teeth in reference to private care. Turkey teeth look aligned and perfect but shaven to the point they will eventually be lost. It’s much easier and less skilled than placing veneers.
Clearly you’ve never been to turkey for any work 😂 they all look top notch inside even the back street dumps would look like a palace compared to a U.K. nhs dentist inside a converted council house.
@@jaylondon283 😔 unfortunately yes, 3 months ago, not just one, but every tooth has been mutilated. You hear bad stories, I thought it wouldn’t happen to me. I’ve spent £800 on consultations only to be turned away. Only this morning I left a specialists office with hope but I’m now facing extractions and implants with a life changing bill inbetween £35,000 to £55,000 depending on what they find once crowns are removed. Until you’re in the position you can’t comment and for the record I originally paid 6k for 25 crowns which isn’t as cheap as others. No regulations means no guarantees whatsoever once you hit uk soil as you can’t take legal action. There are many walking around not knowing until you get a cbct scan in the uk. It will be and epidemic of toothless young people. I’m not saying all are bad but you can’t research, they all say no 1 clinic ie sponsored. If you have no teeth you have nothing to lose. This lady had cancer treatment she wasn’t going for the typical love island turkey teeth look, so instead of responding with a passive aggressive response, educate yourself first!
@@jaylondon283 mine are mutilated ie botched! Give me a council room with a properly qualified person any day but if the glamorous clinics entice you more and a holiday, go for it!
Two pieces of advice I can give from personal experience regarding any dental procedure: Avoid an "inside shot" (roof of the mouth) and second is an "inter-pulpal injection" where they inject the numbing needle right into the pulp of the nerve - I screamed so loud grown men left the waiting room!
I'm so sorry you went through what you went through. The dentists in the UK started to ruin my teeth when I was just 15, back in the day when just just filled everybody's teeth with that horrible grey metal, just for money they'd claim back off the nhs. I grew up in care, had a gap between my front teeth, got called gappy amongst other names and had low self esteem. I can sympathise with anyone who has low self esteem. This dentist himself had really yellow teeth, foul breath and said I'll do a brace (I had a bar brace) but I need to do fillings first 😏🤔. There was nothing "wrong" with my teeth, no toothache, no bad breath, all 4 wisdom teeth, he even said I had nice white strong teeth. But I hated the gap. I did question, but was ignored. Who was I to know any better at the time, I was the foster kid with my foster mum, who also never asked any questions. Now at the age of 56, I have crowns, 2 back bridges where other dentists continued to maul my mouth. I've since paid for white filling replacement, new better crowns but can't afford anymore treatment. Four perfectly good teeth, although had the "fake" fillings were filed down for the bridge each side after 2 teeth were removed. I couldn't afford an implant. I'd like an implant each side now and the 4 teeth crowned. They want £58 just to discuss my options. A total disgrace. You don't need to go abroad to get your teeth ruined, they do it right here in the UK. The only real positive is I can sympathise with other's and help overcome the lack of self esteem. Our test becomes our testimony, and only knowing the true Messiah, Yeshua, our LORD will give us our self worth through him. God bless and anybody going through a tough time. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Saw a dental documentary once a few years back and the presenter was like “a dentist surgery is a business”; never thought about it like that. So she went to her dentist who told her she needed one filling and that was it. She visited a few different places and they all told her she needed 4 or 5 fillings, a root canal, tooth scraping and a whole load of other stuff. It was on UA-cam. So it should still be on here somewhere.
@@jessieb7290 thank you for your reply. Yes, I really can't stand going to the dentist now because they just try and con more treatment out of you. One of my daughter's had a back tooth removed 🤔, that was probably wrong, when she was 18. A few years later I paid for an implant for my daughter at a different dentist. She was very pleased with the outcome. I'd rather my daughter have the implant than myself, but maybe one day I will be able. My teeth look good and nothing wrong with the front teeth that were never touched, but the 2 bridges annoy me. All in God timing 🙏🏽🙂
@@LS-ft7ho yeah I think of dentists now like I do doctors. 9 times out of 10 I get a really bad one. My old dentist told me I needed 4fillings, he did the first one and told me to book in for the next 3. Well I got back the day I had the first one and the day after when I could eat I had toast (cause I was worried about eating) and it crushed the filling. Then I got it sorted with another dentist (who knew what they were doing) and I was curious so I asked if I needed any more fillings. She said she couldn’t comment on another dentists advice, but she looked at the ones where he said I needed work and she told me those teeth were fine and I didn’t need any more fillings. So be careful who you go to. If they want you to get treatment straight away, personally, I see it as a red flag.
@@yomdashuk2264 I'm sorry to hear your fillings annoy you, are they the old type or the white? It depends sometimes the bridges feel normal, BUT other times just feel fake, which of course they are. Feel can get trapped and sometimes can feel it so I need to clean with superfloss to get up under, which can also make my gums bleed. It feels different when chewing meat and even apples. I've got used to it but don't like it still.
I have always looked after my teeth but as i hit middle age they started falling out. Now i have no confidence and am seriously considering getting turkey teeth
If you're willing and able to travel for dental care - go to the United States! it's not cheap of course but decent ones will charge you the insurance rate meaning what they'll charge you the same as someone who has insurance. I say that with the assumption you don't b/c of the NHS most Brits don't have private insurance and it may not cover US providers.
Are your teeth falling out due to jawbone loss? That very much complicates implant viability. I do not mean to be nosy. Do all your homework on this topic of implants and failure rates. Many blessings to you ✝️
i’m so baffled why they filed her teeth then gave her a bridge. i paid 5k and went to sevil smile in turkey best thing i ever did. and i searched this clinic for years before i went and with recommendations
I’m 29 and just had braces fitted. In a year and a half I will have NATURAL and straight teeth. Will probably get them whitened too at the end but I’m not interested in the fake porcelain look.
My brother went there and they did such a lovely job! If I go to get mine I’d definitely be going to the clinic he went to. You wouldn’t even know he had some implants done. ( he had great teeth in general, just had one missing on the side and one cracked)
When i read "turkey teeth" i had to stop and think. I feel like that should have been worded differently. dental care is crazy over here in the US. I hear a lot about ppl traveling for dental work.
In glad the UK dentist confirmed that there are some of the best dentists in Turkey, it wouldn't be fair to tar them all with the same brush. I'm booked to go and have mine done, I've researched the place and their qualifications. The dentist I'm seeing is a professor so very experienced. They should have named and shamed the place this poor lady went to. I really do feel for her and glad shes now getting her treatment done. Just a shame shes now payinf the extortionate UK prices when Turkey do have great profesionls. I understand why shes been put off though.
Don’t say that half of the people that go to Turkey are unhappy, and other half are happy, the percentage of satisfied patients going to turkey is much higher, there’s bad dentists in the uk as well
Being a doc, if you are going through chemo and radio it's not at all a nice procedure to go under other invasive procedures as out body is prone to getting infections... It was a bad decision from patient s behalf as well.
The fact that her immune system would have been very low as well is just crazy! I don't think people realise their dentists can refer them for implants on the NHS, you have to have a really good reason, she woukd have been an excellent candidate!! 😢
It’s hit and miss regardless of research. Things can go wrong and when they do that’s where the problems are. The aftercare is non existent because of regulations so you’re just putting your trust in the ethics and integrity of a clinic.
Again. I feel she’s being paid by the TV because I and my friends have all been to Turkey. I’m very particular, no past issues always looked after my teeth. Had four crowns. Perfect. Even my private UK dentist yesterday was so happy again why would you have any work done if have cancer? Lies lies lies.
I had my teeth done in India, the dentist there were horrified by the clients they’ve seen who have had work done in Turkey. I can’t say enough about my treatment, they were amazing and made our dentists here in the UK seem so backward. I went for private treatment here and there was no doubt it was just about money. I am going back to have 3 implants done in October after the posts were put in last visit, would recommend if you wanted a holiday at the same time.
@@user-er3bx8qb1j I researched it a lot before deciding what to do. India is top for teeth and bones! A friend of mine has gone there every year for the past 20 years and sees all the same people from UK, all of Europe and Canada, all there for dentistry. They make our dentists look like the Middle Ages.
I would never go to turkey for any kind of treatment, there is no judicial security at all. Europe is cheaper than the UK and the quality and standard of dentistry is really good.
Did you miss the part about her having cancer, I’m guessing she just wanted her teeth to look normal again, sympathy and understanding do go a Long way sometimes

I had my teeth done in Bulgaria, and i was so well cared for and taken care of.. it was less than 8000€ , it rook a year and three trips but they are specialists in implants, not like uk dentists who only do veneers or implants once in a blue moon.. uk dentists are a joke. And im sorry but these people do not do their homework, they follow a TikTok trend so what do they expect, and as someone said, its all very well saying use a uk dentist but money does talk.. and theres a BIG difference between £3000 and £30,000 ffs…
I can totally relate to this ladies story… It’s almost identical to mine. I had my top teeth done first, I did already have some crowns, Done in the uk. But I wasn’t happy with the fit. My new crowns from Turkey were brilliant… I was so happy. About 18 months later, I got my bottom teeth done in Turkey 🇹🇷… I Stupidly went to a different dentist, Who also just looked at photos sent from my phone. I was quoted £1000 for my bottom set. I also had to pay in English cash…and in I went, and there he was pulling all my teeth out. I was in so much pain, but he really wasn’t very sympathetic, I asked to be numbed up more, but he wouldn’t. I then get this temporary teeth, while I had to wait 1 week for the permanent teeth… when I went in to get this fitted, I found out he was fitting a complete bridge in my mouth… I thought I was getting individual crowns. it didn’t fit correctly, and he had to saw one of the back teeth off, As it wouldn’t sit correctly. I too had… and still have, the gap at the front, that gets food trapped, and this can make your mouth feel sore, and your teeth fitting tight… I really wish I had not decided to try and save a few hundred £££, The first dentist out there was brilliant, and made sure I wasn’t in any pain at all… Both of the dentist practices I went to, were very posh looking, and clean… it’s just that I should of questioned the second dentist I used… Because, before I went there, I didn’t even know what a bridge was…And now from personal experience, and looking online, I have found out that a full bridge is really not a good idea

Give it time. There is a reason they won't damage perfectly healthy teeth in the UK. Because there is nothing wrong with them other than vanity
Actually is the other way around, from every couple of one that are ok there's way more than aren't. I should know as I see patients all the time that come with butched procedures.
Which clinic as looking to go this year for some root canal treatment

Couldn't agree more. The cost here is ludicrous…as are the colour of her teeth tbh …natural is so much better than artic white
The cost of dentistry in the USA is exorbitant and getting a set of teeth is prohibitive for poor people or elderly on fixed income😢

Getting surgery anywhere can be a mistake. It’s not just Turkey. Thouroughly research the facility, the doctor etc.
