    This was such a great video. It makes so much sense and my physical therapist today referred me to a spine doctor for the cervicogenic dizziness. The headaches, nausea, sinus and eye pain. The being spatially off. I cried because I thought I would never have a name for this or a path forward. Again, great video. Thank you

    This is so helpful. Dizziness started a few weeks ago, and has rarely gone away. First episode scared me. I went to emerg and doctor there dismissed it as BPPV, saying it was the result of "too many birthdays". Advised me to do certain manoevers to correct it. They did not help at all. When I was at physio for an unrelated matter, she suggested it might be this. She did some initial testing and could not find anything that suggested BPPV. Your compare and contrast was spot on! There is no way I have BPPV. Physios rock! They know this stuff better than anyone!

    Hullo Marrow This is very interesting! I was knocked down by a car and had a hairline fracture of the odontoid process... unfortunately the x-rays were lost ... but this weekend I shall do as you suggest. I have to admit I was a physio before the RTA and working with children with cerebral palsy so very fit. I feel sure that with your speciality I will find if I do or dont have cervicogrnic dizziness... and if i dont - you will have something else in your experience that I do have. many many thanks Trish

    Interesting stuff. I too deal with neck pain and balance issues. I also have problems with my vision, where a GoPro video can send me into an awful headache. Like my eyes can't track the motion. Never spinning, but can't keep up. Is this a sympton of cervical dizziness?

      This could be a symptom of cervicogenic dizziness. I would recommend finding a good physio in your town that specializes in orthopedic manual therapy. Best wishes.

    Well, my symptoms feel like I have both. I justhad a strong vertigo episode, with a lot of pressure above eyes, and a lot of sweating after it. After episode I became really motion sensitive, but the thing is I feel dizzy for 3 or 4 years and had episodes, but the todays episode was the strongest. I was in ER and MRI and they didnt fi d anything, on mri there is only slight misaligment with C1 and C2 ligaments, but nothing else. Can you please reccomend what should I do, I live in Croatia and all doctors try to get rid of you asap you cone to them. Thanks!

      Thanks for your question. The research is strong for specific cervical spine stabilization exercises for reducing HA frequency and dizziness. Chiropractic care has only short term efficacy. Moreover, spinal manipulation to the upper neck can frequently bring on dizziness/nausea/lightheadedness, etc. I would try to find a physical therapist/physiotherapy in your town that specializes in Gwen Jull style exercises. Make sure to ask your new therapist if they are familiar with these exercises. The video below talks about the research. Hope this helps. ua-cam.com/video/OEvOz4yhsU8/v-deo.html

      Sounds like good cervical stabilization training good help your condition. Dr. Gwen Jull from Australia is an expert in this field. Maybe there is a physiotherapist in your town that knows her research? That could be very helpful. Thanks for commenting.

    Dear Doctor, thank you for your video. Can anyone have BBPV and neck dizziness at the same time?

    • @physiotipswithmarrow5836
      @physiotipswithmarrow5836  5 місяців тому

      Usually not. If you are having frequent dizziness and have signs of upper neck pain, I always start out treating the neck. If the dizziness goes away, we are in business. Hope that helps!

      Dear Doctor, thank you for your reply. I have this dizziness start 1 month ago. When it comes, I can not stand normally and must lay down in 1 position and I feel very sleep and sweat and have tinnitus at the same time. Then I go to sleep like this for couple of hours and it goes away. I don't have nay neck pain. And when I went to doctor, they said it is likely BBPV, but I doubt that because it almost comes everyday. Please help Doctor, what kind of dizzinezz is this? thank you so much!@@physiotipswithmarrow5836

    I've been experiencing this ever since i was a kid. They did all sorts of tests and scans on me.. and they couldn't figure out what's wrong. The only thing they said is "stress". Years later i experienced the same thing and went for scans. It turns out that due to bad posture there's a misplaced disc that is pressing a nerve in my neck. I still don't know whether i have bppv or cervical vertigo. The worst thing is that since I'm 17 i can't drink most pills that can help me since they're made for older people. At this point I'm really lost and i don't know what to do.

      Yes. Unfortunately, it can last for years. Usually off an on but each presentation is unique. Tonight at 6 pm we are putting a new video out on the best tests for cervicogenic dizziness. Thanks for watching!
