What kind of chiropractor I should go
Chiropractic care has short term relief only. I would recommend a stability program. Find a physio that is familiar with Gwen Jull neck stability exercises.
thank you
Thanks for watching!
I’m curious if any of your patients also present with tinnitus. It seems a certain percentage of people who have neck issues also develop tinnitus along with all the other symptoms. Thanks for the videos!
Tinnitus is a common side effect that will often improve w/ improving neck stability. It is tricky symptom, sometimes it gets better and sometimes it lingers.
I notice tinnitus drastically reduces with proper neck exercises
@@criticalthinker7822 I have treated patients where tinnitus improved greatly and does seem to correlate w/ neck conditions. However, I have treated other patients where their dizziness and HAs improved but not the tinnitus. Hope that helps.
@@criticalthinker7822 Do you mind sharing what neck exercises help you?

Daddy, your model is a doll!!! 😍
Great information, but can't see the illustration at 3:07. I really wanted to, but it's mostly unreadable.
Dr c5 and c6 nerves bulged for me did cause vertigo.i feel dizziness,un blance, spinning
is this Mckenzie chin retraction still an okay exercises to perform for cervicogenic headache/dizziness?
I've done everything the doctors recommended and it didn't get better for years 😪 So thank you for sharing your knowledge.
This is absolutely insane because I was diagnosed with cervicogenic headaches and went to physical therapy for months. I spent thousands of dollars and they instructed me to do these exercises you said not to do. I got minimal and short lived relief before I gave up on physical therapy. Now my back, shoulders and neck are even worse. The headaches and vertigo still haven't gone away and I've been dealing with this for 5 years now. I've found more helpful information on the internet than I have gotten from any of my healthcare providers.
I've been watching all of your cervicogenic dizziness videos in last few days. And, per your testes, tested positive for cervicogenic dizziness. Mine has been chronic, daily, for 10 years come January. Traditional PT hasn't help. No focus on cervical neck instability. I notice you do not teach isometric, end of range, neck exercises where you use hand on head and press into it. Why is that? Your exercises are so gentle, like I'm don't nothing. Thanks!
Great question. University of Queensland put out exercises a few years back where they focused on the deepest muscles of the neck and used low load exercises. This proved to decrease neck pain, headaches, etc. and the relief was long term. The isometric exercises of the past focused more on the bigger muscles of the neck and where not specific enough.
@physiotipswithmarrow5836 thanks for your reply. The isometric exercises made me worse the following day. Then again, I'm an A student. 🤦 I tend to do more than I should and probably with too much resistance; trying to feel the muscles work. I'm going to trust your process working the deeper muscles. I'm trying to find a PT here that knows of Gwen Jull's style of treatment. So far nothing. Most don't really even get cervicogenic dizziness. I was in PT for 3 years when this started. They never even stood the isometric with me. Lots of vestibular then thoracic and core exercises. No real postural either. I know more now and won't settle for conventional. Thanks for all of your videos. I also watched Gwen's and Bridget's videos. Finally feel like there is some hope our of my misery. Bridget talked about increase in symptoms in her cases for those with bifocals. Omg, yes! I got my first bifocals at the same time dizziness took over my life. I keep asking about correlation with docs. 🤦🤦🤦
Thank you for the great tips. Do you have tips on side sleeping with neck stiffness and pain?
I am working on that as my next video. Stay tuned!
Why does this work? What it is actually doing, muscles, etc? Thanks.
It is applying "axial load" or load to the spine. This stimulates the deep muscles of the neck to reactivate, and stimulates proprioceptor nerves to work better (giving better postural awareness). Moreover, axial load done in a pain free way, can cause relaxation of tight neck muscles. Great question!
Sir please reply can i slowly but eventually get cured of cervical vertigo after i perform these exercises for a year or two.Can i then stop these exercises or should i have to do them for my whole life.please reply sir will be waiting???
Exercises are performed until the symptoms have stopped. You do not have to practice for life but not a bad idea to practice good posture daily and resume exercises if your symptoms return.

what about chin tucks? do you recommend them? for cervical vertigo
Cervical spondylosis & Vestibular neuritis. Bppv. 1 year into this horrendous condition. Constantly dizzy off balance terribly. Will these excercise help ?. Iv tried everything. 🙏.
It worked!
Do you do online consultations?
I could only do something in Florida online or in person.
I don't even know if i even have cervical dizziness!!!some are saying its cervicogenic dizziness, some saying go for ent, while others are saying visit neuro physician...i am not even getting a proper diagnosis even after visiting several physios😢
I would say this. If you have dizziness, neck pain, or possibly headaches. Try some of the exercises and see how you respond. If you feel better then you have your answer. If the exercises make you feel worse...don't do them and seek professional help. Hope that helps and best of luck!
@@physiotipswithmarrow5836I have c4-c5 subtle posterior disc bulge with no nerve compression as shown in mri,but physio's are saying your dizziness are not related to this.Ok,I guess I am going to try your exercises first and will see how it goes
The exercises helped me with a sharp pain in my left neck and shoulder. I also used the tens unit which helped stimulate nerve.

Hi Doctor, I'm a 28 years old male. I work seated 8 hours a day in the office. I swim and train in the gym three times a week. I suffer from mild chronic neck pain that get much worse one or two times a year (for a few days I have to take NSAID and rest my neck). My neck pain is without diziness. I have noticed that every time while I train the shoulder in the gym the pain is much worse. In fact every time when I perform the lateral raises with the dumbbell I feel pain in the back of the neck. Is it because I have weak neck flexors muscles? Should I do exercise to strengthen neck flexors? Thank you

Hi, could you please advise on the most effective sleeping positions to support these exercises so that we do not undue the work our exercises have done. Thanks again for your videos, really helping me...
I had a ball hit me in the back of the head 6 years ago. Agter 2 very difficult years, it stabiized but sometimes after 6 months ok i get 2 konths of these lingering symptoms, which are tinnitus, nausea, some small headaches, sometimes its like behind the eyes, and compromised balance, like im wobbly. I have been to so many doctors, no one can solve this, im coming to the conclusion it could be atlas related? Cervical? My health is perfect but i cant ger rid if this. Getting deperate.
Hope some of the exercises on this channel help you out. Best of luck.
Thank u I want to work with u as Co physiotherapist

Part 2 to this video, with more advanced exercises, will be coming out soon.
In the exercise you call the 'Prayer Position' (Lowering and lifting one's head) On my first lifting, I heard a crunch and then I was getting some kind grinding, which sounds like two pieces of velcro separating (No pain, but free and easy movement).I thought it was just the muscles loosening up. In 2006 I had a C4+C5 Fusion. Can I still do this exercise. with this in place? I would really appreciate your thoughts on this please.
As long as the exercise doesn't increase your pain or dizziness, you should be fine.
Thanks for the great tips
My pleasure and thanks for watching.

Castor oil with heat helps greatly .
How one can use it. Kindly tells in detail?
Just rub the oil on and then use a hotwater bottle or heat pad for about 30 minutes. You can also get a special Castor oil pad for the oil that the heat can be applied to. But I just rud it on and use a microwave heated been bag . @@SadafsDiary
How do we stop SCMs from engaging and overcompensating ?for weak deep stabilising muscles ?
This is great! More Videos on building up the deep neck muscles would help a lot. Sometimes the SCM’s seem to engage and overcompensate so anything to prevent that would help as well. Also identifying these parts of the neck so you know what should be engaging and what shouldn’t. Keep it up thanks so much!!
