Thanks for posting. I bought my 2006 C230 from my mechanic. It was his daughter's car and I knew it was maintained better than if it came CPO from MBZ as he is the best of the best. I had a helluva time trying to get the drian plug off as it was torque to OEM specs. Not really surprised knowing him as he meticulous that way. Decided to go with the TopSider as well since I now live in another state and have no plans to visit the local MBZ dealer for anything if I can help it. Video helped me to figure that I made the right decision.

Thank you for watching. I'm glad you found it helpful. I'm still driving my 2006 and it looks and runs as new.

Hello I have an 06 MB c230 sport I removed the engine oil from under the car also I replaced the oil filter but I filled up with only 5.8 QTS. I check the oil every day and it shows the same amount. My question is why you are putting 7 qts?

Hey Good job! What tool did you use getting the oil filter cover out though?

Hi Olisa - The plastic engine cover is held on with four friction clips. So it should just pop off without a tool. I like to remove the top two first, since those clips are sometimes cranky, and then the ball connections at the bottom. I remove the filter can by hand using grips gloves for a little more traction. Counter clockwise to remove. Sometimes a oil-filter wrench is handy if it's stubborn. Be sure you get it back on hand tight, but not too tight. I forgot to tighten mine last change and all the oil came puking out when the engine warmed up. No fun.

Thanks man. Got an oil filter wrench today. Would be careful not to tighten it excessively. 👍👍👍

@@diyrepair1333 They're handy to have. I have about six different styles depending on the filter and the vehicle. I never use the wrench to tighten. Only to remove.

Looks like you could have saved some time and some money by going to Mercedes. LOL.

Possibly, but I would be missing the feeling of accomplishment that comes from the experience.
