    Truly one of the most satisfying and simple jobs to do. Even the Oil Filter is so easy. Using the extraction method, you don't even need to get under the Car. Complete Brake overhaul done in about an hour and a half, Air Filter, 5 minutes. You could flush the cooling system and replace the Thermostat in about an hour. All those hours add up to about $800.00 at a Stealership and $550.00 at reputable mechanic. The W203 is a great car to own.

    Do you need to change the oil in supercharger itself?

    • @whlawson5812
      @whlawson5812 Рік тому

      Supercharger oil is best be changed every 60,000 miles even if this was not mentioned in the handbook.
      The prolonged case is to change it before exceeding 100,000 miles together with PCV valve & hoses and the o-rings for the engine oil cooler. Clean both the throttle valve body. Plan this when doing an annual engine oil change.
      The reason is that once the supercharger is taken out all other jobs become easier and cheaper than the total price of doing these job individually. Confirm the total price with the workshop before doing this.

    Hi - great video thank you for posting... the only error is that you got the conversion backwards: 1 quart is LESS than a litre (about 950ml or about .95 litres)... so 5.5 litres will be a higher number of quarts = ~ 5.8 qts... Otherwise awesome video!!! Vm

    Thanks, really good information here. One criticism of MB though - what is actually wrong with a good old-fashion dip stick? Is taking it away an improvement, or just a pain in the arse!

    • @zollotech
      @zollotech  7 років тому

      It’s something they just did for years. Many of their more recent engines have a dipstick again.

    • @simonreeves2017
      @simonreeves2017 7 років тому

      zollotech - BMW did the same for a while. I'm old school, so these choices manufactures make sometime baffle me - a dip stick would cost them what, say $2 per car, probably less and just fit instead of the cap. You could then just dip the oil to get the right level at an oil change.

    • @enriqueortiz5440
      @enriqueortiz5440 4 роки тому

      The reservoir on the left side of the engine is for the powersteering. It should ONLY be filled with Mercedes Powersteering fluid or Pentosin CHF 11S. If it's low you need to find the source of the leak as it's a sealed system and should not need to be topped off.

      @@zollotech I see, i own the vehicle for 2 years and always was adding 5.5 liters, so it actually needs 6 liters according to what you are saying, right? Also my car tends to consume around 150-200 ml on every 1000km, so I add some additional oil every 1000km.

Suck the oil out dont pull the drain plug to see what kinda crap comes out???? Not cool. I dont trust any type of computer stuff no matter who makes it. Great video though ! The care I got has issues think it has a stretched timing chain ( which the chain and gears look weenier than a kids bicycle) I will try to fix her but.. if that dosent work Ill put a ecotech turbo or a ls swap in it Love the car though. and the price was right.

    6L is too much. This engine takes exactly 5.5L. Not more.
    And actually it´s better to drain the oil instead of sucking it because you remove the sludge that is in the bottom of the engine.

      It’s actually not better to drain it. People have tested that and then removed the oil pan. When sucking it out they got more oil in those tests.

    So you left 0.5L of sludge in the engine.

      No, I sucked everything out of it.

      @@zollotech You cannot suck everything out. Even if you drain with the car level and then tilt it some, you get at least 0,1 L more out.
