In this video we are showing you how to do an oil change on Mercedes W203. We demonstrated on a V6 3.2 C320 2005 Model.
It will be very close procedure for all V6 and 4 cylinder engines.
You will need to check the oil capacity and the oil filter number to make sure that it is the same for your model.
This procedure should cover the basics for:

Thanks for the great step-by-step video guys. My late father owned a shop years ago , but he primarily dealt with domestic vehicles. One of my vehicles is a Mercedes C320, which I have been paying upwards of $130 for an oil change, but with this easy to do video, I'm going to start doing my own oil change going forward; after all it's not that different from a domestic oil change, which I'm familiar with doing. Great job guys... keep up the good work!

Nice videl, if you want to check the oil level in litres you have to open the secret menu.
1- make sure the display is on mileage
2- put the key in first position
3- tap the dashboard button (same button that resets mileage) 3 times quickly
A new menu will open which contains a detailed information about Oil levels, now you can put ignition on second level and it will measure it

What oil you use

Mercedes recommends "fleece" oil filter with 229.5 spec grade oil only ( this oil specification is newer than the engine ) and fact: that's only helpful theoretically only for the ones that are changing the oil at the maximum miles(km) or more than 1 year. I saw a lot complaining about the filter not being the "fleece" type, felt i need to share my accumulated knowledge having one of these v6's on a CLK.
Nice helpful video. One thing you omitted. Before reaching the oil drain plug, one must remove the two plastic protective covers held in place by 10 8 mm screw. That's the less enjoyable part. Using a a set of plastic ramps instead of a small hydraulic lift makes the job a bit easier. Be careful when removing the oil drain plug, the oil gushes out so a large oil container will be helpful in catching the spillage. You should maybe think of placing a large cardboard on the ground underneath the car. Finally you should also change the copper crush washer on the drain plug. BTW I prefer installing a good fleece filter, such as Mann or Mahle. On the first oil change, I installed a Fram paper filter. The thing was totally decomposed after just 6 months (8 000 km).

You can check the exact ammount of oil when you go for key 1st position nd press reset button till it beeps nd then arrow down and you get the dynamometer finction on and there it shows what engine you have and axct oil ammount in your oil pan
For a 2003 Mercedes Benz C 320 * WAGON * - put the jack on the RIGHT Side as the drain plug is on the left side. You can also use 0W-40 Synthetic Oil for this model year / car
I would suggest using the oil filter housing as the place to pour in the new oil.
It pours faster
It's closer to the front and is easier to hit.
Just sayin'...doing it for 10 years.
but it means any mistake with something dirty like a bug or such is closer to getting in the engine rather than from the pan circulating through the filter like normal.

Isn't it a good idea to pour some oil into the filter housing prior to inserting the filter ? This way the filter is soaked with oil and the engine does not have to run dry until oil gets pumped thru the filter after an oil change.

0w40 or 5w40
Mercedes specs for different temperature ratings are the following. All TEMPS....0W-30, 0W-40
Above -13 F .5W-30, 5W-40, 5W-50
Above -4 F .10W-30, 10W-40, 10W-50, 10W-60
Above 5 F .15W-40, 15W-50
Above 23 F .20W-40, 20W-50

I live in a middle eastern country, in the summer the temperatures get to 40c, so what oil should i use? 5w30?? Isn't that made for colder countries and lower temperatures??

I am having a problem with my W203 M271 engine. The 1st spark plug has been stuck and all i replace are the remaining 3. How do I remove the stuck spark plug without damaging anything on the head. My cars performance gets affected as sometimes when I press down the accelerator the car has a rough idle and engine surging.

Why is the oil on the cap creamy?? Is that normal because I have a 2005 c240 4 matic and I was gonna check the oil and the cap was creamy my thought is water on the engine head casket???

Why are you guys using Oil with weight 5W-30 when Mercedes recommends 0W-40?
0-40 shears to roughly 30w in a few hundred miles. there is a service bulletin published and both 5-30w and 0-40 M1 are approved. 10-30 is also likely fine if you are driving above 20f

Exactly my thoughts.
Some "milkshake" under the cap is normal on these cars. Notice the oil in the filter and the oil draining out of the engine doesn't have any of the cream thing going on.
Most likely, the owner of the car isn't taking trips long enough for the engine to fully come up to temperature to burn off any moisture on the top end.
if you driving in the city its normal because the oil cant get warm enough to evaporate the water .

First you have water in your oil engine remove the water pump and check the 2 rings second your oil filter did not go all in then you put it on the plastik cover and next time dont put oil this mutch fast it will over flow on this engine 😅but over all looks good❤

That one is a 651 oil filter for Diesel engine.
Do these engines really not have valve cover gaskets?
They have Cam plugs in the rear. And they use rtv for sealing?

Question? I have a 2001 C320 with 163,526 miles and I've always used Mobil1 full synthetic oil. However, with 163,526 miles what grade oil do you recommend? 0w-20, 0w-30, or 5w-30?
The W stands for winter not weight thats what most people don't realize it should never change unless you live in a colder or warmer climate. There are 2 ratings on oil this is the viscosity for when its cold outside vs warm. For someone like me who lives in the mountains its important. I have a 2007 C23.
