I would like to see this avatar restore the connection between the past avatars! I really miss the avatar being able to connect with the other avatars because it gives us insight into past lives. I didn’t like how Korra’s story had her disconnect from them because I would’ve like to see them more
I do think the avatar state needed a nerf, but they should have nerfed it slightly differently. Maybe if they needed to connect to past lives first and attach the avatar state to that? The Avatar state is about using another avatar's abilities, so it would make sense. So if Korra wanted Roku's abilities, she would talk to and know Roku first.
@@gaybatgosqueak They did though. The avatar state was an OP last resort in atla, where no single bender, no matter how powerful, could go up against it. In LoK she was beaten down time and time again even with the avatar state. In LoK it was framed more as just a general powerup, rather than a "I am now stronger and more skilled than any other bender ever" thing. And Korra used it all the damn time.

The only way you could say it was nerfed was when the Avatar state was reset, now future Avatar's don't have the benefit of past knowledge from hundred of previous Avatar's. Korra's Avatar state was more powerful than it had ever been when the series ended. Korra at the beginning was a powerhouse herself without the AS but during LoK all her problems were things she couldn't just overpower and win. That's not nerfing.

Definitely. Especially since a lot of their bending style looks similar to the airbenders. There has to be a pretty interesting history behind their culture, which I really hope is eventually expanded upon.

I had an idea for a character, someone who bends the elements by only using one element, so an air bender moves the earth and water by moving air around, and fire bends by setting things on fire with hot gas
I'd be okay with a movie of finding zuko's mom. Edit: They made a comic that is available at most libraries, it was awesome. I still think it should be made into a movie.

except in Kyoshi, they had little information and they did not know they Yun was not the avatar. But here, it is possible that White Lotus intentionally did that so people do not lose hope.
I think the idea is that this is an issue with the earth bender avatar, unlike other elements, earth shows signs very late in life, and the judges are usually misled, also the wealth difference between the earth nation is quite big, I think it would have to do with that. I mean... the avatar a "sander" ewww.... (sarcasm)

if Korra and the earth-bending avatar live full lives, the fire avatar/or next air avatar, after could very well be in a cyberpunk setting, and that is so cool.

Oh my fucking god that would be so dope! Like someone above me was saying they could use lightning bending to power cities maybe. Making it a cool cyberpunk mixed with some of a steampunk vibe. Like the bigger and well known cities have that bright coloring that we all know from the traditional cyberpunk aesthetic. But then maybe like outlying towns or smaller cities fall more into like a dark steam punk vibe with lots of golds, coppers, silvers, and black. But if they decide to wait to do a cyberpunk setting for the next Airbender Avatar we could have them powering cities by wind turbines! What would be cool is fitting the four nations into a cyberpunk vibe while still keeping its history and culture that we know of since Aang alive. For example, the Fire Kingdom. It would need to be a mix of a bunch of neon reds, oranges, yellows, as well as dark reds, coppers and black with a small hint of a blue like silver for lightning bending which powers the nation. All four nations could have a unique power source. For The fire kingdom, lightning bending. Air Nation, Wind Turbines. Water Nations and Tribes, water turbines. Earth Nation/Federation, could use fossil fuels possibly or I could see them creating some sort of solar panels. Having each nation have its own power source using bending would help feed into the cyberpunk future idea and aesthetic. By sticking to neons and dark colors of each of the four nations we could end up with a super colorful and sometimes even dark world for the new avatar! I would say since more than likely the new cannon avatar that the avatar studios are creating will more than likely be a male since we had Korra. The next Avatar after The new one would need to be Female. However we since we are going into the future the Gang could have some Non-binary people and people from all four nations with super cool and more modern aesthetics. Maybe in the future the Avatars earth bender friend is an inventor because of the metal and glass bending! Sorry I’m just spouting off ideas haha! Cause I adore this comment. I'm so glad to be part of help this to happen , and to know that a lot of fans all around the world are together on this project. I want to be part of this story, I want to tell it because Avatar was one of the cartoons that makes part of my life.I think the comparison that the cartoon has with real life , talking about the relationship we have with each other is very important.
I want to see 1 in the far future.Who knows,maybe they would have technology that would make people able to bend multiple elements?Or bending hybrids?Who knows where science could take bending.

I think it would be interesting if they went into the far future and show how the avatar has faded from society in favor of technological advancements. I'd love to see a struggle between the old avatar ways and new technology
I think they should animate the comics it only makes sense, the comics are part of the avatar universe. Ut would be so cool if they animated them. Then when they are done. They can have a new avatar or series. That's just opinion.

Fun fact:According to Google, The legend of Korra would start around 1923, and in the prologue episode, we can see that she is around 60-65 years old (since Asami is a similar age and she looks old) and that Genji is 17 at the start of the series, the show should start at around 1987 to 1992 if it was in the real world

Actually I think ATLA had planned to make an episode on the life of Iroh, like when we see flashbacks of Azula and Zuko's childhood. But they didn't have time to make it or something happened, I don't remember well
I think a return to the old world would be great after a cataclysmic event. Maybe have people with different bending elements re discover their cultures and go back to a system with distinct bending/fighting styles
That was one of the cool things about bending in atla... Every element's fighting style was based on an actual martial art, with both bending and non-bending moves being taken from them, and choreographed with the advice actual experts. Then in Korra they just went with "people throw elements at each other"... Such a shame.
@@Sanquinity could go the opposite direction where as a result of everything mixing you get unique styles of bending now. Like irl fighting styles over time are influenced and made more effective. Kickboxing fire benders, wrestling earth benders, airbenders using judo techniques to throw people and subdue them, etc etc.
@@projectpems8304 Okay fine yes, I guess you can say TLOK's movements were "based" on martial arts as well. Based as in "people saw some boxing on TV and kinda tried to mimic that." In ATLA they had an actual martial arts expert choreographing movements. And you can see the distinct styles in each element. In TLOK you can just kinda see them punch and do some spinning kicks.
@@arkauthor I remember this one fan video of Zuko finally entering the Spirit World and he’s immediately greeted by Uncle Iroh and they hug. Afterwards (in my own headcanon) Zuko helps Iroh run his Spirit World tea shop and both go under their nicknames of Lee and Mushi serving tea to passing spirits, and the occasional odd human or Avatar that somehow ends up in the Spirit World, for eternity.
The only thing I hate ab a brand new avatar is that the last one is literally dead and I do not cope well with that Edit: I know that’s how things have to be in life and blah blah but I was just stating that it sucks when a character you’ve grown to love dies. I also hate it when characters in other shows die. I just hate death in fictional settings but I know it’s necessary
Things that the Avatar series lack: 1. An actually good rogue antagonist in addition to the main villain(s) 2. an Avatar taking a dip into the dark side at some point 3. an Avatar that can't bend the basic elements for some reason but are proficient with 4 of the specialized bendings instead 4. A true non-bender villain
Kyoshi kinda already showed the the Avatars can take a dip into the dark side as they would die anything to bring balance to the world and also they could’ve do it with Aang because it would’ve fit his Air bending Teachings

@@ikm-rn6341 That was only a precaution in case the next Avatar wasn't able to connect with her. There's no reason why the next Avatar wouldn't be able to do so though. Also, the spirits of the past Avatars still exist in the Spirit World. People can talk to them any time, they're just much harder to reach now.

I would've thought that they would make the next avatar like Asami. I have this theory that the next avatar looks like the partner of the past avatar's life. Roku's wife looked like Aang (same eyes, no hair for Aang), Korra looks like Katara (granted, people from the water tribe have the same characteristics, but still, she looks like a muscular version of Katara.) It would only make sense that the next avatar looked like Asami..
From what I got in the start of this video is that the legend of Genji is fanmade and not official. Which no offense to the creators it made me happy. I don’t think I agree with some things they did. I also imagine the next avatar looking like Asami. Not only that but I don’t approve of them killing of Korra so young. I imagine she at least lives up to her 80’s.

Aang was very kind hearted for an avatar and while in the 1st 3 seasons korra was quite bold and aggressive, in the last season she became more like aang

There was always a sense that there wasn't something quite right about Azula. Just listen to her theme music, for instance. For a more in-depth look check out "The Psychology of Azula". It's worth a look and gives a neat perspective of Azula. However, as Iroh once said, "She's crazy and needs to go down!"

She was flirting with the guy and I thought okay cool she might snatch a man...boy I was wrong when she started saying all those evil things.. From day one even her mother knew she wasn't right... I want her continuation tho... What happened to her
Season 1 of The legend of Korra was rushed and has the worst love triangle I have ever seen. Season two’s only redeeming factor was Varrick. The villain was stupid, the character interactions were painful, and the setting was completely uninteresting. Also, Korra seemed to have lost any and all character development from the last season, not to mention the fact that she sided with her clearly evil uncle over everyone else, including her parents. The two spirits being kites is aesthetically boring. And finally, the giant spirit fight is absolutely stupid. The villain motivation is also questionable, since it seems like his plan was to become an Evil avatar, use a giant spirit form to destroy the world, then what? I generally think seasons 3 and 4 are good, aside from some ugly cgi, but I will not hear any arguments that season 2 is not bad and season 1 didn’t have any clear issues

I would love to have an Avatar that struggles with the main elements (earth, fire, water, air) but can easily use the subelements (lightning, explosion, metal, blood, sand). It would be pretty interesting

I will admit I did come up with my own Earth Avatar universe after Korra, and one idea I came up with that I would love to see is a blind air bender. The character wasn't part of team Avatar but I still enjoyed coming up with the concept, although it is very fanfic as far as background since the character is a grandchild of Bolin and Opal (making her a descendant of Toph) & also a child Rohan (Tenzin's youngest son making her a descendant of Aang).
i’d love if the comics were animated, or just an additional series with aang and the original group tbh. a movie abt iroh’s story or zuko finding his mom would be really great too
Prolly will master earth and water first. Then wind and fire last. Since sand is very fine in particles like water but still technically minerals that earth bender can control.
Jinora as the leader of the Air nation/nomads could be incredibly amazing seeing her as not just the leader of all Airbender's but as a mother and wife
They fcked that up already because they could’ve did that after legends of Korra or before legends of Korra, they basically showed us everything in 2 episodes they could’ve made that stretch for atleast a full 1 season or something of his own
You do know by the time Korra is in her old age. She'll have plenty of life experience to draw upon as wisdom for future Avatars and she may even be the most adept of them all. Since her enemies required being adaptable in approach and had varying style in their threat to balance.
@@jonathanjohnson6727 she dies of unnatural causes 17 years after the main series at age 35. with loss of avatar specific techniques like lava bending the ability to use compressed earth bullets and the avatar state being significantly weaker than before it’s gonna be tough. Aang just barely restored her ability to bend the natural elements so she has to start from the ground up and even that’s not given enough time before she dies.

As Kuruk is the only recent known Avatar to did _young_ for an exceedingly worthy cause) You're acting like Avatars don't work to save/assist each other(Aang literally had all Avatars encapsulate/preserve him for 100 years, protect him against Ozai in the finale until he could attain control of the Avatar state to take his bending and when Roku ensured his escape in s1e8). You also ignored that Korra has spirit bending, energy bending, extreme resistance to blood bending(once she got a feel for the techniques done by Amon. She broke his grip without use of the Avatar state/Fought off mercury poisoning), will be quite proficient/likely on eof the best master of metal bending(given she was taught by Suyin, Toph and maybe eventually Kuvira) by the time her era is done, has excellent close quarters non bending combat skill(had the speed to keep up with chi blockers longer than most previously seen) and is fused with the greatest possible formation of Raava; in scale, influence and power. So her Avatar state isn't weaker in strength. It just doesn't have all the move sets to draw upon from past Avatars(which was the case with Wan. Yet he lead to Avatars being quite capable well beyond his era.)
Hope when they do the series again they can show what happened after The Last Air Bender and Legend of Korra. I really want to see the OG team Avatar grow old.

I wish they'd create a new animated avatar show with each season focusing on a different avatar. One following Kyoshi, Kuruk, Roku, Yangchen, and any other avatar they can come up with. I really got interested in Kuruk after the Kyoshi book revealed that he was way different then the original show made him out to be.
@@0neAutumnLeaf There's so much epic bending in the book though that I would love to see animated. It'd also be an amazing opportunity for a more mature-rated animated series, because you would need to showcase the brutality and gore of Kyoshi's bending and the time she grew up in.
When watching avatar Korra.. that scene when toph says" the world doesn't NEED you " it makes me thinks that Korra would be the last avatar exist and the whole show just confirms it since avatar don't really needed that much in modern world
with the rise of mixed bending genes, the avatar's power is not as unmatchable at the moment... but if the avatars also learn all sub bending techniques, they definitely cannot be rivaled... although it is a lot to learn in each life edit: but Raava still remembers... which shows up in Avatar State, so overtime Raava has to re learn all sub bending techniques after which avatar state will become an unmatched state again
It's more like Korra jumped into the whole Avatar gig expecting to be a mighty warrior, saving the world from an overwhelming threat like Aang. When that's not the type of Avatar the world needed at the moment, and her entire journey in LoK is finding out what kind of Avatar the world actually needs. It's why I don't really like Season 2 as a whole, and I dislike the giant robot finale of season 4. Korra's entire development is tied to her learning that punching out enemies doesn't solve problems, and finding other ways to solve issues.
@GraffitiTurtle No but for a very long time. After Ozais defeat, the Nations were at peace again and there was no conflict for ages. The next big one was Yakone and that was resolved quite fast.
@GraffitiTurtle Yes, i didnt say the stakes in LoK were not high. I reqlly liked the entire series. But if we take Aangs life, what the initial comment was about, there are not really many interesting events. Defeating the Fire Lord was the defining thing in his life, Yakone was a little issue that was dealt with rather fast. Of course they could always make up new stuff, but from the todays PoV, Aangs adult life would be the last thing id want to see.
Seeing Asami mourn the death of Korra just makes me cry, and seeing her wear the engagement necklace Korra carved for her; argh why do they gotta hit me in the feels man
@Lilithan Chrispiford the 4th it's not the fault of the creators for not putting much of romance into their relationship. It's mainly Nickelodoen's fault because they didn't want anything LGBTQ+ published underneath their company. If you read the comics that is where the creators went all in for their relationship. Nickelodoen gave the creators restrictions in which they forced the creators to have more of hidden love than having it open like the heterosexual couples. You have to go back and pick up on the small details in their relationship in the show to figure out the underlying feelings. It makes me sad to think in 2014 same sex love wasn't wildly accepted and stopped two fictional characters from even showing their love for one another.
@Lilithan Chrispiford the 4th I understand that but I just think every show has its flaws, especially if it's a sequal to a show, because there is always going to be expectations for it. Originally Korra was going to be a 1 season show, so when korra got more seasons is really where the show went downhill. Taking that into account I don't think the show is as bad as everyone thinks, and shouldn't be compared to ATLA. That's something that annoys me -you're not annoying so please don't misunderstand. Korra is meant to be in the universe of ATLA but be completely separate from the original story and be something of its own. It's ment to be the opposite of the original ATLA story. I think people should view the series in a way without theit preconceived notions of ATLA and watch korra purely on it being Korra. I know when I did that, my entire thoughts and feels for the show changed because then I wasn't comparing shows together and letting them be their own separate pieces of art. Korra has it's flaws, but so does ATLA and that's fine. No show is perfect. When creating a show you can miss the mark.

And it's not like Asami has been with Korra for that long, if anything, Asami probably had the least relations with Korra out of the main characters. Say it was 3-5 years later that they had that relationship, it would make sense, but right off the bat? Nickelodeon probably made the right choice, because the comics made the relationship a main plot point, constantly popping up through the story, they kind of did the same thing with Aang and Katara in the comics too. @@trilsoweird17 No it's not. Legend of korra was simply another show that took place in the future of ATLA, it wasn't "the opposite" of ATLA, and was never meant to be. I hate when fans make up stuff to support or justify their claims like this. The main difference was Korra actually fought, and had more than one main villain, while ATLA had one main villain, and the rest of the time it was "the journey there" similar to a pokemon show where Ash and the gang does a bunch of stuff before getting to the main gym. Aang also mostly ran away or avoided the enemy by hopping away on Appa, while Korra actually had to fight the villains. It wasn't until the final battle Aang actually fought with the intent to win rather than get away, and even then he was saved by an ex machina, while Korra lost more battles and actually had to suffer. The two shows are very comparable, actually, and they are both good. The majority of people who say ATLA was better is just nostalgia biased, the same reason why there are people who think pixelated 2D games from the 80s are better than modern games.
I'm not a fan of the more modernized look and hope the new the stuff we get from Avatar studios doesn't lean to much into that and instead focus on the more old or ancient looking aesthetic we had in ATLA.
Eh it would have to be an older avatar then. If you follow the technology of the world, you can pretty much assume radios and TVs and even cellphones in the newer series.
Should go with the Avatar twins idea that was thrown around. (Which I would name them Razen and Rikita) Rikita eventually being revealed as the Dark Avatar.
I actually like this cos now it'll give us a completely different perspective of ordinary benders and/or non-benders trying to defeat this suppose savior with bad intentions of all nations
I mean, that was technically the plot of the Zaheer arc from Korra. He had his own team Avatar, he had a vision for the world (anarchism), and the heroes played the part of the evil empire/republic. There was even a small romance going on, from what I remember.
I dont think thats possible because being the avatar means you have rava's spirit in you which is the spirit of light, aka the good spirit. It would be unlikely for the avatar to somehow override that.
honestly when i clicked on this i wasn't sold, but as the video went on I started to get more and more into it. I just hope they don't get in trouble and have to shut the whole project down

I would like to see this avatar restore the connection between the past avatars! I really miss the avatar being able to connect with the other avatars because it gives us insight into past lives. I didn’t like how Korra’s story had her disconnect from them because I would’ve like to see them more
I do think the avatar state needed a nerf, but they should have nerfed it slightly differently. Maybe if they needed to connect to past lives first and attach the avatar state to that? The Avatar state is about using another avatar's abilities, so it would make sense. So if Korra wanted Roku's abilities, she would talk to and know Roku first.

In LoK she was beaten down time and time again even with the avatar state. In LoK it was framed more as just a general powerup, rather than a "I am now stronger and more skilled than any other bender ever" thing. And Korra used it all the damn time.

The only way you could say it was nerfed was when the Avatar state was reset, now future Avatar's don't have the benefit of past knowledge from hundred of previous Avatar's. Korra's Avatar state was more powerful than it had ever been when the series ended. Korra at the beginning was a powerhouse herself without the AS but during LoK all her problems were things she couldn't just overpower and win. That's not nerfing.

I think the idea is that this is an issue with the earth bender avatar, unlike other elements, earth shows signs very late in life, and the judges are usually misled, also the wealth difference between the earth nation is quite big, I think it would have to do with that. Oh my fucking god that would be so dope! Like someone above me was saying they could use lightning bending to power cities maybe. Making it a cool cyberpunk mixed with some of a steampunk vibe. Like the bigger and well known cities have that bright coloring that we all know from the traditional cyberpunk aesthetic. But then maybe like outlying towns or smaller cities fall more into like a dark steam punk vibe with lots of golds, coppers, silvers, and black. But if they decide to wait to do a cyberpunk setting for the next Airbender Avatar we could have them powering cities by wind turbines! What would be cool is fitting the four nations into a cyberpunk vibe while still keeping its history and culture that we know of since Aang alive. For example, the Fire Kingdom. It would need to be a mix of a bunch of neon reds, oranges, yellows, as well as dark reds, coppers and black with a small hint of a blue like silver for lightning bending which powers the nation. All four nations could have a unique power source. For The fire kingdom, lightning bending. Air Nation, Wind Turbines. Water Nations and Tribes, water turbines. Earth Nation/Federation, could use fossil fuels possibly or I could see them creating some sort of solar panels. Having each nation have its own power source using bending would help feed into the cyberpunk future idea and aesthetic. By sticking to neons and dark colors of each of the four nations we could end up with a super colorful and sometimes even dark world for the new avatar! I would say since more than likely the new cannon avatar that the avatar studios are creating will more than likely be a male since we had Korra. The next Avatar after The new one would need to be Female. However we since we are going into the future the Gang could have some Non-binary people and people from all four nations with super cool and more modern aesthetics. Maybe in the future the Avatars earth bender friend is an inventor because of the metal and glass bending! Sorry I’m just spouting off ideas haha! Cause I adore this comment. Fun fact:According to Google, The legend of Korra would start around 1923, and in the prologue episode, we can see that she is around 60-65 years old (since Asami is a similar age and she looks old) and that Genji is 17 at the start of the series, the show should start at around 1987 to 1992 if it was in the real world

That was one of the cool things about bending in atla... Every element's fighting style was based on an actual martial art, with both bending and non-bending moves being taken from them, and choreographed with the advice actual experts. Then in Korra they just went with "people throw elements at each other"... Such a shame.

@@projectpems8304 Okay fine yes, I guess you can say TLOK's movements were "based" on martial arts as well. Based as in "people saw some boxing on TV and kinda tried to mimic that." In ATLA they had an actual martial arts expert choreographing movements. And you can see the distinct styles in each element. In TLOK you can just kinda see them punch and do some spinning kicks.

Afterwards (in my own headcanon) Zuko helps Iroh run his Spirit World tea shop and both go under their nicknames of Lee and Mushi serving tea to passing spirits, and the occasional odd human or Avatar that somehow ends up in the Spirit World, for eternity.
He was an old man when korra was around. The fact he met her and got to help shape her as he did aang was a blessing. Iroh would be proud

Also, the spirits of the past Avatars still exist in the Spirit World. People can talk to them any time, they're just much harder to reach now.

I would've thought that they would make the next avatar like Asami. I have this theory that the next avatar looks like the partner of the past avatar's life. Roku's wife looked like Aang (same eyes, no hair for Aang), Korra looks like Katara (granted, people from the water tribe have the same characteristics, but still, she looks like a muscular version of Katara.) It would only make sense that the next avatar looked like Asami..
From what I got in the start of this video is that the legend of Genji is fanmade and not official. Which no offense to the creators it made me happy. I don’t think I agree with some things they did.

Season 1 of The legend of Korra was rushed and has the worst love triangle I have ever seen. Season two’s only redeeming factor was Varrick. The villain was stupid, the character interactions were painful, and the setting was completely uninteresting. Also, Korra seemed to have lost any and all character development from the last season, not to mention the fact that she sided with her clearly evil uncle over everyone else, including her parents. The two spirits being kites is aesthetically boring. And finally, the giant spirit fight is absolutely stupid. The villain motivation is also questionable, since it seems like his plan was to become an Evil avatar, use a giant spirit form to destroy the world, then what? I generally think seasons 3 and 4 are good, aside from some ugly cgi, but I will not hear any arguments that season 2 is not bad and season 1 didn’t have any clear issues

I would love to have an Avatar that struggles with the main elements (earth, fire, water, air) but can easily use the subelements (lightning, explosion, metal, blood, sand). It would be pretty interesting

One plot line I would be interested in seeing is Genji reconnecting to his past lives with help from Korra's spirit.
I will admit I did come up with my own Earth Avatar universe after Korra, and one idea I came up with that I would love to see is a blind air bender. The character wasn't part of team Avatar but I still enjoyed coming up with the concept, although it is very fanfic as far as background since the character is a grandchild of Bolin and Opal (making her a descendant of Toph) & also a child Rohan (Tenzin's youngest son making her a descendant of Aang).

You do know by the time Korra is in her old age. She'll have plenty of life experience to draw upon as wisdom for future Avatars and she may even be the most adept of them all. Since her enemies required being adaptable in approach and had varying style in their threat to balance.

Aang just barely restored her ability to bend the natural elements so she has to start from the ground up and even that’s not given enough time before she dies.

As Kuruk is the only recent known Avatar to did _young_ for an exceedingly worthy cause) You're acting like Avatars don't work to save/assist each other(Aang literally had all Avatars encapsulate/preserve him for 100 years, protect him against Ozai in the finale until he could attain control of the Avatar state to take his bending and when Roku ensured his escape in s1e8). You also ignored that Korra has spirit bending, energy bending, extreme resistance to blood bending(once she got a feel for the techniques done by Amon. She broke his grip without use of the Avatar state/Fought off mercury poisoning), will be quite proficient/likely on eof the best master of metal bending(given she was taught by Suyin, Toph and maybe eventually Kuvira) by the time her era is done, has excellent close quarters non bending combat skill(had the speed to keep up with chi blockers longer than most previously seen) and is fused with the greatest possible formation of Raava; in scale, influence and power. So her Avatar state isn't weaker in strength. It just doesn't have all the move sets to draw upon from past Avatars(which was the case with Wan. Yet he lead to Avatars being quite capable well beyond his era.)
Hope when they do the series again they can show what happened after The Last Air Bender and Legend of Korra. I really want to see the OG team Avatar grow old.

I wish they'd create a new animated avatar show with each season focusing on a different avatar. One following Kyoshi, Kuruk, Roku, Yangchen, and any other avatar they can come up with. I really got interested in Kuruk after the Kyoshi book revealed that he was way different then the original show made him out to be.

When watching avatar Korra.. that scene when toph says" the world doesn't NEED you " it makes me thinks that Korra would be the last avatar exist and the whole show just confirms it since avatar don't really needed that much in modern world
with the rise of mixed bending genes, the avatar's power is not as unmatchable at the moment... but if the avatars also learn all sub bending techniques, they definitely cannot be rivaled... although it is a lot to learn in each life
edit: but Raava still remembers... which shows up in Avatar State, so overtime Raava has to re learn all sub bending techniques after which avatar state will become an unmatched state again
It's more like Korra jumped into the whole Avatar gig expecting to be a mighty warrior, saving the world from an overwhelming threat like Aang. When that's not the type of Avatar the world needed at the moment, and her entire journey in LoK is finding out what kind of Avatar the world actually needs. It's why I don't really like Season 2 as a whole, and I dislike the giant robot finale of season 4. Korra's entire development is tied to her learning that punching out enemies doesn't solve problems, and finding other ways to solve issues.

@GraffitiTurtle No but for a very long time. After Ozais defeat, the Nations were at peace again and there was no conflict for ages. The next big one was Yakone and that was resolved quite fast.

But if we take Aangs life, what the initial comment was about, there are not really many interesting events. Defeating the Fire Lord was the defining thing in his life, Yakone was a little issue that was dealt with rather fast. Of course they could always make up new stuff, but from the todays PoV, Aangs adult life would be the last thing id want to see.

@Lilithan Chrispiford the 4th it's not the fault of the creators for not putting much of romance into their relationship. It's mainly Nickelodoen's fault because they didn't want anything LGBTQ+ published underneath their company. If you read the comics that is where the creators went all in for their relationship. Nickelodoen gave the creators restrictions in which they forced the creators to have more of hidden love than having it open like the heterosexual couples. You have to go back and pick up on the small details in their relationship in the show to figure out the underlying feelings. It makes me sad to think in 2014 same sex love wasn't wildly accepted and stopped two fictional characters from even showing their love for one another.

Originally Korra was going to be a 1 season show, so when korra got more seasons is really where the show went downhill. Taking that into account I don't think the show is as bad as everyone thinks, and shouldn't be compared to ATLA. That's something that annoys me -you're not annoying so please don't misunderstand. Korra is meant to be in the universe of ATLA but be completely separate from the original story and be something of its own. It's ment to be the opposite of the original ATLA story. I think people should view the series in a way without theit preconceived notions of ATLA and watch korra purely on it being Korra. I know when I did that, my entire thoughts and feels for the show changed because then I wasn't comparing shows together and letting them be their own separate pieces of art. Korra has it's flaws, but so does ATLA and that's fine. No show is perfect. When creating a show you can miss the mark.

And it's not like Asami has been with Korra for that long, if anything, Asami probably had the least relations with Korra out of the main characters. Nickelodeon probably made the right choice, because the comics made the relationship a main plot point, constantly popping up through the story, they kind of did the same thing with Aang and Katara in the comics too. @@trilsoweird17 No it's not. Legend of korra was simply another show that took place in the future of ATLA, it wasn't "the opposite" of ATLA, and was never meant to be. I hate when fans make up stuff to support or justify their claims like this. The main difference was Korra actually fought, and had more than one main villain, while ATLA had one main villain, and the rest of the time it was "the journey there" similar to a pokemon show where Ash and the gang does a bunch of stuff before getting to the main gym. Aang also mostly ran away or avoided the enemy by hopping away on Appa, while Korra actually had to fight the villains. It wasn't until the final battle Aang actually fought with the intent to win rather than get away, and even then he was saved by an ex machina, while Korra lost more battles and actually had to suffer.
The two shows are very comparable, actually, and they are both good. The majority of people who say ATLA was better is just nostalgia biased, the same reason why there are people who think pixelated 2D games from the 80s are better than modern games.

I mean, that was technically the plot of the Zaheer arc from Korra. He had his own team Avatar, he had a vision for the world (anarchism), and the heroes played the part of the evil empire/republic. There was even a small romance going on, from what I remember.
I dont think thats possible because being the avatar means you have rava's spirit in you which is the spirit of light, aka the good spirit. It would be unlikely for the avatar to somehow override that.
I feel like we need to see more of korra and asami, like 1 or 2 seasons to wrap it up in a way to bring tears to our eyes
