Can waterbenders bend bones, techincally there is minerals in bones and water so water benders could bone bend , so in total - after more 100 years waterbender will be overpowered
I didn’t come up with this but I agree that cabbage man might be part of the white lotus as a non bender and his job was to keep an eye on the gaang as they traveled, because it seems a bit odd that they always find each other from omashu, ba sing se and other places.
I understand why mai is always grumpy. It’s actually hard being an only child for a long time and then your parents wouldn’t like you to have some fun and then suddenly gives all the love to the second child, wouldn’t you feel grumpy too?
@@galdramann2478 She's the oldest so they most likely placed all responsibilities onto her as she will be the next heir. Her parents wanted her to be quite and complacent as well so there is also a chance they raised her like that so she could be married off.
@@galdramann2478 That’s good reason to explain Mai’s family have no male heir, until she had little brother. I feel pity for Mai because she just wants to be independent, and have fun.
I'd actually like a Iroh spin-off. It could dive into his perspective of the growing evilness of Ozai since even if Iroh wasn't perfect before his son's death, he was still compassionate and not ruthless. It could also focus on his experience after the loss of his son, Lu Ten.

Roku’s dragon was referred to as “Roku’s [the avatar’s] spirit guide, like appa is to me[aang]”. Whose to say that these are not spirits AND animals? Perhaps they started as spirits and chose to forego their immortal forms to become a natural part of the world so that they could aid benders and avatars along their journey?
Wow. I never even realized that Jett was a sacrifice, not just an unfortunate death. I wonder how conscious Katara was of this… I mean, she did almost use the spirit water on Zuko’s scar, and would have if Aang and Iroh didn’t barge in…
The father of Lin beifong is actually a man named Kanto it was revealed in the legend of korra when Bolin asks toph who Lin's father was so toph said,"It was a man named Kanto he was a pretty nice man but things didn't work out between us" so the main mystery is the father of suyin beifong.
Suyins dad might have been revealed in a new comic, he could be a lava bender who went to tophs metal bending academy and he looks exactly like opal (only speculation of course)
14:49 Aang didn’t kill any fire nation soldier as long as we know. What he did kill was the giant wasp in the desert, which broke the air nomads “all life is sacred” rule/norm. But of course, we can see this situation as Aang reaching the bottom of his life, feeling an enormous pain because of loosing Appa, his last attachment to his culture, and of course, his best friend ever
He didn't intentionally kill any fire nation solider. Hes probably killed dozens of fire nation(and also earth kingdom) troops not even counting the North Pole. You could argue accidents wouldn't violate Aangs rule though and he's not oblivious to this. He seemed most concerned with pre meditating the Fire Lords death as opposed to the Fire Lord dying. And that's the issue with the wasp too, he made the choice to kill it before doing so.
@@nemou4985 you could argue that in the earlier parts of the series book 1 and 2 when ever he gets in to his avatar state. He as Aang is not in control. The avatar collective takes over to insure that they keep existing. In the North pole battle Aang also more or less let the ocean spirit take over. They as a collective take over the decision above that of Aang him self.
In _The Legend of Korra,_ Toph mentions one of her husbands'/boyfriends' names was Canto. Mentioned once, and never again, but we do know his name. The other one, we don't know. Could be Satoru, but we don't know.
Wouldn't really be surprised if the whole "What happened to Azula" thing was that she just faded away and lived a civilian life, like her mother. And that's where we get Asami or Bolin and Mako.
feels kinda forced to me to stich all the stories together after the fact. not every LoK character should be connected to an Atla character. makes the world feel smaller IMO
12:59 Loosing her memory wasn’t a “problem”. That’s what she was looking for. The face spirit realized that she was broken, amd that she wanted to forget her abusive relationship. The spirit could just gave her a new face, but it helped her beyond that
Technically, Korra started a second generation of Avatars, as she released the spirits, and created a new Raava. As a bonus, she is related to the son, grandchildren, wife of the Avatar. Don’t forget the chief of the Northern Water Tribe either
@Adrian Todd but it makes sense to have happened. You guys just like tiptoeing around every change that lok made instead of trying to understand and embrace it
@@arriibacon531 i think that was OP's point. The mother of faces can 'just' change your face and leave your memories intact, OR she can change your memories. Ursa chose both, which is imo understandable but still idk how Zuko could forgive her for that so easily. Like - not gonna lie, it'd bother me big time to know my mom chose to forget me.
@@SikhoGuwa honestly, I don't think that's a big problem. Their dad was a grade A wet lettuce, so I'd assume any child would be happy to see their mom find a new, better spouse. Little half-siblings can be annoying, but also nothing too dramatic. Just the part about choosing to forget your two other children... like, yikesss Ursa we get ut you didn't like their dad, but that's a bit too much imo.
@@ingusch3783 She had good reason to though. She wanted to forget because Ozai said if she ever returned or contacted Zuko he’d kill Zuko. She knew it’d be too hard to stay away if she remembered so she chose to forget
A big theory for me was that Iroh and his son went to the sun warrior’s temple, probably to teach him about a culture of fire-bending and their ancient techniques, only to both discover the dragons with the dance.
As far as the comet goes, I always go with the “not our universe, not our astrophysics” mindset. These people can move elements with their minds so I don’t find it that weird if their comets aren’t made of ice and dust like ours are. Edit: in some of the earlier books, it is confirmed that all air nomads are born benders. This means that luckily no air nomads will be stuck on any towers lol
I would explain all of the mystery but then it would not be fun ! Edit : WE WANT THAT IROH SPIN OFF SHOW ! I DON’T CARE IF I AM A AVATAR CHARACTER I WANT A IROH SPIN OFF SHOW !
For the Sozin's comet thing, you said that comets are typically composed of ice and dust, but it is very possible that Sozin's comet is a sungrazer, a comet that tends to endure a massive temperature swing when passing close to the sun, which would therefore ,at the time of the comet, it would be many degrees. This I believe makes the whole thing make sense
@@nemou4985 Yes the photosphere is approximately 5800 degrees Kelvin, but the corona which is the outer atmosphere reaches to about 2 million degrees kelvin.
@@MontyBleikerwhat? Think about it for a second, a ball of ice cannot reach millions of degrees. It would become a cloud of gas long before reaching even 0.01% of that temperature. Considering comets still exist, no, they do not get hot.
@@Distant_View Okay, I have no idea where you pulled that "millions of degrees" statistic, it would probably reach somewhere between 2000 to 4000 degrees kelvin. Also, I don't know how much physics you can comprehend, but a comet can reach that temperature and still stay intact, because think about it, THEY EXIST. If that blatant fact wasn't enough to tell you that maybe there is a flaw in your logic, then let me explain it to you. A sungrazer passes close to the sun, which causes high temperature on the SURFACE. Which means it doesn't cease to exist, but instead it creates a massive ion tail, and gradually gets smaller. Sozin's comet appears to very large relative to other comet, so, like other large sungrazers, it could survive several passes of it's perigee with the Sun.
In 'The beach' episode Mai revealed that she had always been controlled and taught by her parents to not be so expressive and reserved. This led to her seeming so uninterested and gloomy.
Its a good question, but I think the title ,,dragon of the west" comes from the location of the fire nation in the world of avatar. The fire nation is located in the west -> dragon of the west
Likely, Iroh came to the Sun Warrior temple because he, like Zuko, lost his firebending. The only traumatic event that we know of is Iroh losing his son, so Iroh likely lost his fire when his son died, then traveled to the sun warrior temple, only to undergo the trial and eventually completed it. That’s probably what started him on the path to his own redemption, as well as the beginning of him observing other bending techniques to implement into Firebending like he did with Lightning Redirection.
for the "How are the animals bending" mystery, they say somewhere (I don't remember which character or which show) that Badger Moles are the "original earthbenders". It is possible the dragons and sky bison have something similar going on. They might have somehow shared their bending with the Lion Turtles and that's how it spread
It was in ATLA and it was by Toph when Zuko couldn't firebend as he wasn't as angry. They had to go to the original source (The dragons) to learn how to firebend w/o rage.
Everyone asking about that but nobody asking why there isn't an original water bending animal. Korra had a polar bear dog as her "animal guide" although it was more like a therapy dog for her bad relationship script. I wonder if earth bending avatars get badger moles as their animal guides
Prior to the digital age, royalty would go unrecognized as long as they were not wearing crowns, traveling in specific types of fancy wagons, etc. The people on Ember Island probably had no idea what Zuko and Azula looked like. The Ember Island play made it clear that they knew Zuko had a scar; and they probably saw pictures of him when the Fir Nation hang up wanted posters, back when he was rocking the pony tail. They had probably seen paintings of the royal family at some point. Historically, paintings of royal people make them look more attractive than they actually are (and are not true to appearance). They would have been hard to recognize.
It was implied that Kataras sprit water isn’t what saved Aang from Azulas lightening. It was the strong connection Aang had to Katara is what saved him.
nah, or else they wouldnt have showed katara nearly using the water on zuko. cuz in that moment we want her to. but later on when aang dies, were thankful she didnt use the water on zuko or else aang wouldnt have been saved. the water was very important.
@@MELTEDBUHTTER It had to be more than just the water though. The guru said that Aang had to let go of Katara to master the Avatar state but he leaves his training bc he doesn’t want to. He starts to let his feelings for Katara go as he enters the Avatar State in the fight in Book 2 but is shot by Azulas lightning. After Katara revives him the camera pans to her face just like when she saved him from the iceberg. Azula severed Aangs connection to the Avatar state and took him out. He only regains this during his fight with Ozai. In Book 3, Katara says all she did was use the spirit water but also says she’s not sure exactly what she did. Her connection to Aangs helped him regain consciousness just like at the beginning of Book 1
The Northern Air Temple solved the issue of non-airbenders being able to live in those environments using technology im sure Sokka knows how to help lol
So another big question for me is this...If the spirit of Avatar Aang can teach Kora how the bend energy, why can't the past Avatars teach the new Avatar bending of the elements?
Maybe cause it's another life and the new avatar has to deal with new people. And I don't think that their past lives can demonstrate it to them. They can only talk to them and seek advice but their past lives can't move like a bender. And of course, they can't bend cause it's only their spirit, no physical body.
I reckon that Katara's water whip thing cutting through metal thing could be possible, because, due to the fact that pressure = force/area, the force of the whip could be very high, it not just being a limp line of water as clearly demonstrated throughout the series, with the area of the whip being extremely low, therefore exerting a humongous force onto a tiny area, which would probably be able to cut through metal.
@@azearaazymoto461 she was forced to be the perfect child. while others might cope with that expectation by overachieving, mai decided to internalise all of it and pretended to care about nothing. it's more of context clues that takes little work
he also was a fire bending master, known for being the only one that (without the avatar state) could possibly defeat ozai, his power and his status could get the lie off
I didn't think every Air nomad child was automatically an an Airbender. I thought the ones who were under the teaching of the monks were the ones who had bending and we just didn't see the other people.
There probably were air benders not amongst the monks who didn't adhere to their training. Maybe they were more stringent and kept the more advanced techniques to students in the temples?
I think he’s a member of the white lotus and the reason he’s always there is is because his task is to keep an eye on the gaang and “my cabbages” is a code. He got the gaang into trouble to with the police is to introduce them to King Bumi. This is why there is a statue of him in republic city outside cabbage corp.
1 theory that I’ve always considered is when harmonic convergence happened, the decedents of air benders were given the power of air bending. I believe not all air benders were killed when Sozin ambushed the air nation
I can get on this since the air benders were nomads meaning they were constantly moving around. I think Sozin only went to the air temples to kill all the benders so theres a very good chance that there were still air benders that lived and went into hiding when they heard the news they were being targeted. Ive heard a theory that Ty Lee is a descendent of air nomads.
15:43 Well, Iroh said that with lightning generation, Firebenders can't really control it after it's released, but, then, for all we know, someone skilled enough in the art actually COULD, and, from there, affecting another's nervous system? I've actually thought about that one, myself.
Sokka didn't lose his boomerang saving fire nation soldiers from falling to their death. He used it to take them down so they couldn't attack him and Toph who were sitting ducks at the time.
I like to think they are the gods of the avatar world. Because Raava called the air lion turtle "Ancient One" indicating that the lion turtles are older than her. Raava and Vaatu seem to be the oldest spirits because they represent the two primal forces of good and evil. The world of avatar seems to work on the concept of yin and yang: for everything that exists, there needs to be an opposite counterpart. For example: you have the material world, but as an opposite you have the spiritual world. Every object and phenomenon in the physical world has a spiritual counterpart in the spirit world. I believe that the seperation of Raava and Vaatu made the creation of the two worlds and the spirits possible. Because spirits also have a light side and a dark side inside them. But I don't think that Raava and Vaatu created the two worlds, because it is said by Vaatu that he was the one who broke the barrier between the two worlds. Why would he need to break a barrier between the material and spirit world if he and Raava created them? That's why I think that it was the lion turtles who created the two worlds and as a result Raava and Vaatu. Because the avatar duoverse seems to rely on duality, I think that the lion turtles seperated Yin and Yang which created the two worlds. The spiritual world represents Yin (light) because it seems to be a world of balance, harmony, enlightenment and the creatures that live there have eternal life, while the physical world represents Yang (darkness) because it is a world of hardships, creation and destruction, chaos and the creatures that live in there can die (which is proven by the fact that when the Moon and Ocean spirits came to the physical world they became mortal and could die, demonstrated by Zhao who litterally killed the moon spirit. And the avatar is also the physical incarnation of Raava on earth who can die, but reincarnates because Raava's avatar spirit cannot). And by splitting up Yin and Yang, the lion turtles as a result created Raava and Vaatu who are the spiritual representatives of these primal forces. There existence was what made the creation of other forms of life in the duoverse possible. Raava's light was what created the other spirits in the spiritual world and what created the galaxies, planets and life forms in the physical world. While Vaatu's darkness created the dark side of all spirits and what causes organisms in the physical world to die and what causes the destruction of pretty much everything in the physical world, because nothing lasts forever. Because of this the lion turtles were not gods like we know them from mythology who directly created the world we inhabit, but rather primordial gods who represented primal forces that layed the foundation for later, smaller gods (in this case spirits) to create the world as we know it today. This is similar to the creation story of Greek mythology where you have three generations of gods: the primordial gods, the Titans and the Olympians. The primordial gods represent the primal forces of the universe that were responsible for its first creation. First there was Chaos (nothingness, emptiness and disorder) who was followed up by Kosmos (order) which started the creation of the universe. From order came Gaia (earth) and her son Uranus (heaven/sky) with whom she had a child named Kronos (time). It was foretold that Uranos would be killed and overthrown by his son Kronos, which indeed happened, and after killing his father Kronos set up the rule of the Titans. The Titans ruled over the universe for some time which was said to be a golden age, in which they again lay the foundation for more creation, but the world was still far from how we know it today. Than at last came the rule of the Olympians after it was prophesised that Kronos would also be overthrown by one of his children. To which he responded by eating all of his children, except Zeus who managed to get away because his mother tricked Kronos in eating a stone instead which he thought was his son. After Zeus had grown up he killed his father and freed his brothers and sisters from Kronos' belly. After this a war broke out between the Titans and the Olympians which the Olympians won. The Olympians than created the world as we know it today and created all the animals and the humans that inhabit it. So in a similar fashion, I think the lion turtles created the two worlds as blank slates and the smaller gods Raava and Vaatu, and later all the other spirits, are what created the world of avatar as we know it. And just like Greek gods I mentioned above, the lion turtles seem to represent the primordial powers of the avatar duoverse (earth, water, fire, air and energy). In this case, I believe that the energy lion turtle (the one Aang met) is the supreme god who split Yin and Yang and the other elements are smaller gods who represented the core elements of the avatar duoverse. Or it could also be that the elemental lion turtles are different representations and aspects of the energy lion turtle, just like how in some versions of Hinduism it is believed that all the gods in the pantheon are actually all just different versions or aspects of one almighty god named Brahman. Or it could also be that they are the energy lion turtle's children. If they are indeed smaller gods and if they are indeed killed off by the humans, this would explain why the more powerful energy lion turtle is still alive. Or maybe, the physical world made the other lion turtles mortal, including the energy lion turtle, just as it made the moon and ocean spirit mortal.
@@silvanvanderhorst7366 Stop calling Vaatu and Raava the spirits of good and evil. Evil is not an opposite of anything. Evil is a perversion of good not an opposite. If anything Raava should represent Order not Goodness. Order is the opposite of Chaos which represents Vaatu. Thinking of Evil as the opposite of good is literal Heresy as stated by many many Popes! And anyway the writers have clearly said in several interviews that the Lion turtles are living beings that were hunted to near extinction b/c of humans, not spirits.
@@avishevin1976 It doesn't matter! Saying Good and Evil are natural opposites is an simplification of the matter. The statement still stands that Evil is never the opposite of anything but a Perversion.
Here’s how I think the avatar cycle works: When the avatar is reborn, Ravva merges with the new avatar. We already know this. The avatar is able to learn all the elements because the ability was stored in Ravva, and being merged with her is what makes you the avatar. When an avatar goes into the avatar state they truly merge with Ravva, giving them all the memories, knowledge, and experience of the past avatars, making them even more powerful along with the power of Ravva, this meaning that the farther into the future you are, the more powerful the avatar state is (yay!) I think it woudl be cool if one time Ravva split her spirit in 2 and created twin avatars.
For the whole thing with Sozin's Comet, I think you forget about the spiritual aspect of the series. The moon - and, by extension, the sun - are spirits or, at the very least, affect spirits. It isn't the sun or the comet themselves giving Firebenders their power. It is the spirits.
Fire Benders can’t actually control lightning/electricity, they can only generate it and point it in a direction, as Iroh said, that once you separate the energies, you do not control the lightning, you are simply it’s humble guide
The only mystery i desperately want solved is what happened to Azula after the kurikagi comic. We need more Azula stories. I want to see that redemption arc.
I actually thought about firebenders doing some type of mind control with bending the electrical pulses through ones nervous system. I only came across this idea because I was thinking 3 bending types can manipulate the body in some type of way. Water- blood bending, air- some type of oxygen bending, & earth- bone bending. That leaves one final thing of will left to control...the mind. I came to this conclusion only after thinking about Steven Universe's the Diamond Authority and all their different abilities. They all controlled an aspect of a gems being. When put together they controll their whole body their whole will. Same thing goes with bending all the elements are within us. Coincidentally enough just like white diamond being the final and ultimate key to controlling one; their mind...the fire benders seem to also be that final puzzle piece to also controlling the mind through electrical signals or at the very least influence it. Now imagine a seemingly unstoppable bender and the only way to beat that person is to have all four element benders bend the different parts of the very person's being which leads to full and dare I say complete control. You gotta admit I'm on to something here or at least it's an interesting theory.
@@lewismcdonald2826 the bone matrix have a inorganic component made of hidroxiapatite, so if earth benders can control minerals, as in metal bending were they bend the mineral impurities within the metal, they can have some kind of control over the bones. Honestly bloodbending covers bone bending basically, it would cover "taking the breath out of people" if the series wasn't a kid's show.. y'know what i mean..? BlOOd beNDING??)) ok, anyway i feel like blood bending could theoretically change the brain as it controls blood but idk
I just watched the short about the first avatar. Rava saying "All of your lifetimes" suggest that everyone in the Avatar world is reincarnated and that the only reason the Avatar keeps the memories is because of the spirit of light.
Maybe Sozin's Comet has some kind of dense hot core inside it or maybe it isn't even a comet, maybe it's just something else and everyone just thinks it's a comet
About the animal benders, I'm 100% sure all the spirit and 1st avatar stuff was invented AFTER the original animal benders were introduced to the story, is not a mystery, it's a plot hole.
It makes sense that the water could cut through metal, after all, it is 2 benders holding it together, forcing it through the metal. It was completely brute force
I heard a fan theory that Sokka and Toph have one of Toph's kids, so having them both have an adventure searching for the space sword could expand on this theory...
I figure these are the most brutal ways benders can kill Earth: Bending the Iron in the blood (Maybe even super heat it like lava bending) Water: Bending the blood of the body Air: Suffocation Fire: Can literally almost always burn and even just be torturous but I actually think the explosive bending is the way to go
Actually for fire, the most brutal would be if a fire bender figured out a way channel a lightning technique directly into an opponent’s nervous system like ATLA cruciatus curse in my opinion.
I think it's been implied that they can only bend significant amounts of metal and I don't think there's enough metal in a human body for that kind of control
A earthbender just has to stomp on the ground and a whole under the other person appears and he falls into it and the earthbender closes it immediately and the person is buried alive in a tight dark place with no way out
Zaheer and P'Li - I really enjoyed there romance and would like a side story with them as well as the mystery of the other two members of the Lotus, where Boolin was given a vague answer to question he asked the male member.
The way I view the reincarnation of the Avatar and the past lives is a bit like a two way road, when Roku died part of him reincarnated into Aang while the other part of Roku remained as his memories and knowledge
i think of it as ravas spirt quickly goes into another body after it leaves the mothers womb and the past avatars are in the spirt world or in a vestige world
@@asimhussain8716 No it's common sense! If the Avatar soul did transfer in her too??
I have a few theoretical answers to some of these very good questions: Q#20: A?: I think it's reasonable to assume that a soul can occupy more than one space simultaneously, so the forest scene atop the Lion Turtle might make more sense than it appears at a glance. Although, the nature of the Avatar's spiritual essence being literally otherworldly, it is still fair to ask Q#20 (even though I think I know what the writers might say). Q#16: A1?: physics gets wierd when you add telekinetic chi manipulation into the lore, like is the case with bending arts, so it's possible that she's applying will in a way that creates the neccessary directional force on a microscopic level. A2?: even if katara is Not using exotic chi-relevent physics, the example shown on screen is applying water whip in a straight line ON IMPACT, in the same way as a mechanical waterjet (there may or may not be other examples in the series that aren't as straightforward, which I may be forgetting, but what I say here at the very least applies to the example in this segment of THIS video.) Q#14: A?: that's an easy one in my mind. I think that Sozin's Comet is not a comet at all, but an orbital asteroid, or some other object that IS made of fire, or has enough fuel to burn for many centuries. Probably too small to be a brown dwarf, and likely not dense enough to be a dwarf star of any kind (though I wouldn't rule it out completely), but that surging ball of fire is CERTAINLY not a real comet. I'm not holding fast to any of my statements here, it's just some ideas to think on, much like the featured video above. Thoughts?
My theory is that the reason the comet powers up fire benders because the fire/heat that the comet emits when it comes in earths atmosphere can act as a 2nd sun. So it would essentially double their bending abilities.
Except that comets don't enter the Earth's atmosphere and don't emit light or heat. When they get close enough to the sun they begin to melt and emit gas and dust. All this extra material forms the tail and causes it to become much brighter because they have more area to reflect the light from the sun.
Actually for the 17th mystery, the identity of Lin’s father was revealed in The Legend of Korra. Toph revealed that he was a guy named Kanto, we just don’t know what he looks like.
Wasn’t it explained that it was sort of a rite of passage for firebenders to seek dragons and kill them to prove they were superior? Iroh on his journey to slay a dragon said he killed the last one so no one would come looking for dragons. It’s not a mystery how he found them I thought since he would just go where everyone else before him went to go look for dragons. Am I missing something?
I've always seen the reincarnation as more of remnants of past avatars that reside inside the spirit whose name I can't spell. It's not them entirely but peices of their souls with all the memories used to connect the current avatar with it's past versions. It's so the spirit, the past, have a constant direct connection which leads to a stronger avatar state and increased wisdom that borders on instinct while in the avatar state
I WOULD KILL for an Iroh spinoff, he was my favorite character in the series. He had one of the most tragic backstories, he was a deeply flawed character that u could relate with, n he was one of the most powerful benders there is.
I've always been curious about how the elements are connected. Couldn't air bending technically control every other form of bending simply because of their makeup?
The Guru says straight up that the division of the elements is an illusion. A true master wouldn't need Rava to bend all for elements. There is no spoon.
İf you think about it waterbenders can heat up water which can lead up to fire or at least heat water is everywhere and it can literally boiled and become airlike and if you try to bend steam you are kinda airbending and you can use water to cut through rocks or even lift rocks of sort so even if you cant bend like toph you can do it to some extend same goes for earth they can lava bend meaning they can play with heat as well if you think about it there is too much to explore and i think because water is a flexible element and its everywhere thats why we see the most powerful benders from watert tribe and most evil ones sometimes as well like amon

I have issue with some of the “theories “ stated in this video. 19) Iroh, taking on an ancient firebending right of passage alone is not far fetched. 18) Azula mentioned this in the episode. 17) The comics aren’t the highest writing of the series. 16) you really want animators to draw frame by frame water droplets? 15) There is picture documentation of adult Sokka carrying a sword. 14) the comet flew so close to the atmosphere it parted clouds, that’s enough for a second sun for firebending. 13) the lion turtles left the world, “so long and thanks for all the fish”. 12) prove Genji is cannon. 11) Mai and Zuko, it is what it is. 10) normal animals in fantasy is boring, animals that could pass for Pokémon are awesome. 8) home is home. 7) Azula had a hand in killing Bolin and Mako’s parents? Seems a stretch. 6) sense the original lion turtle for the air people could fly giving the people air powers was essential, or air-acolytes. 5) You just summarized the search. 4) Chekhov’s gun macguffin only for finally. 2) The firelords airship was forced down, not destroyed. 1) you want a backstory for a joke character?

We’ve never seen a fire bender bend electricity at low voltages, and for that matter, at low powers. Also, we’ve seen that lightning bending is an extremely rare skill that even Zuko can’t domain. I don’t think mind control could or should be on the table.
I don't think lightning bending is that rare since there are factories with lightning benders on them in TLOK. Zuko couldn't do it due to his emotional state in ATLA so maybe he is able to do it in TLOK but we may never know.
@@AdroNier Well, maybe, but even in Aang's time there were very few fire benders who could do it and in Kyoshi's time it was a myth. I believe TLOK abuses on rare skills and offers them to everybody, like blood bending, metal bending and lightning bending.
When he asks about iroh and the dragons the lighting redirect skill was from water bending and he studied all the elements so on his travel he probably found them.
I still don't really understand how Avatar's are born. Like when the Avatar dies does some random girl from the next nation just wake up pregnant or Raava just picks a random couple doing the dirty and enters the new life in the womb
I don't think it's when the child is conceived that Raava 'enters new life', I think when an avatar dies Raava picks a baby in the next nation that has just been born. Idt Raava would wait nine months. I hope I explained this well idk jmo
@@randomsunflower6998 it's the best explanation i've ever got, i'm a big star wars fan how anakin was conceived etc threw the force. Kyoshi, Korra, (can assume Roku) had parents but none ever showed tf where'd this child come from
I think Raava can predict when the Avatar is going to die, so the moment the Avatar dies and that person is born Raava chooses that person depending on the Avatar cycle and this person is probably chosen before their birth.
I would argue that Rava simply chooses after the avatars death. I don't think it's instant otherwise they would just look for children who's birthday corresponds with the day the avatar died
I dont think raava chooses a certain person. Because no baby is born evil or good. I think she just chooses a random newborn baby but because the baby now has the soul of past avatars ( yes i think raava is the soul of the avatars ) it cant grow evil
There was a theory that when Zhao took the moon spirit and the moon turned red it was supposed to be a symbol of a lunar eclipse “Night of Dead moon” when water bender loose their powers similar to Day of black sun for fire benders
I'm betting art of the Fire Nation royal family was for safety sakes done in a slightly caricature manner with the sitting Firelord being done in "4K" clarity. Azula was closest to redemption in "The Search", but it never stuck. Unaliving another by blade is way different than by bullet, Aang probably doesn't know he unalived anyone since he hasn't seen their lights fade.
A nonbending air nomad would just be an air acolyte. The air acolytes were not airbenders themselves but they carry on air nomad customs and they were started by Aang. They make up the nonbending population of the new Air Nation after Harmonic Convergence.
I can see that as an evolution for the fire nation. Earth Kingdom has the Sand Bender tribe etc… I can see a nation of lightening benders forming. Same as the metal bender tribe.
I think number 18 is quite simple and it's the same reason why Aang and the group can get around easily enough even though everybody's heard of them. The technology of that world is far worse than what we have. In order to make your face known you would need someone to purposefully sit there drawing you. If you want a super accurate representation of you you would need to sit there for hours on end in one spot in front of an artist. Not only that but there wouldn't be much of a printing press that can make pictures, meaning every copy of every picture would need to be hand drawn or painted. It would be somewhat viable maybe to get that rough figure drawn on a poster of some sort but large scale painting production? That would take a lot of manhours. They would have their own handful of pictures of themselves around the palace but they wouldn't be handing those out en masse to the people of their nation.
I hope Avatar gets a sequel one day. Kinda sucks being stuck with just one show that's awesome, and never seeing anything more that happened in the world it's set in.
I think I know why Iroh is Grand Lotus. He knew where Aang was the entire time! He kept the fire nation away from Aang by convincing the fire nation to start a war with the Earth Kingdom to deflect them from finding Aang. He sacrificed his son in Ba Sing Se to keep his nation from finding The Avatar. Why else would Zuko just be lingering around the Southern Water Tribe domain? Iroh knew that the Avatar would wake, and needed Zuko's search as an excuse to do his real job, and when Aang woke, he alerted the rest. Iroh sacrificed to be Grand Lotus
@@alexzero3736 he was part of it, when the went to the desert place Iroh found someone else who was part of it and they had some flower shop or something
I have another one: we saw in ATLA that Katara was very quickly able to resist Hama's bloodbending because she's a better water bender. This particularity is shadowed in LOK. Indeed, how was Kora able to resist Amon's bending but not Tarlok's? Tarlok bloodbent her for a very long time, using his bending to put her in his car and then in a cage. In contrast, Amon bloodbent her during a relatively short time. Furthermore, we saw that Amon is a stronger bender than Tarlok because he could resist this one's bending but Tarlok could not. Thus, how could Kora counter Amon but not his less gifted brother Tarlok, further taking into the fact that the latter bloodbent her a lot, giving her more time to get used to it and learn how to counter it? Besides, that means that Kora is a pretty average water bender: she's weaker than Amon and Tarlok (both could bloodbend her) (season 1), she's weaker than Unalaq who could defeat her though she can bend 4 elements, and weaker than Eska and Desna (I count them as a pair as they are always together) (season 2), weaker than Ming Hua who could easily defeat Eska and Desna (season 3) and obviously weaker than Katara. The only other water bender left for comparison is Kya but she almost defeated Ming Hua and Zaheer so it really seems that Kora is the weakest water bender in the show (amongst the main and secondary characters). For me, bloodbending, which was presented quite well and with good limits in ATLA (full moon and the only way to counter it is to be a stronger waterbender - remember even Aang could have died impaled by Sokka's sword) became quite a mess in LOK: you can bend it at anytime and use it against a whole court room, including Toph who had much will power and resilience and an incredible knowledge of her body and surroundings, yet Makko, a fire bender with not much mental strength compared to Toph, can resist it, while even Kora got her bending taken away and could not even counter Tarlok... It's just very messy + it opens the door for deadly techniques for air benders and fire benders (and perhaps earth benders) that cannot be countered. Any point of view or comment on those thoughts?
on the mako one i think he did not resist it he just generated lightning he moved his fingers little by little because amon was focused on korra i think it was pretty much portrayed in that scene

I understand why mai is always grumpy. It’s actually hard being an only child for a long time and then your parents wouldn’t like you to have some fun and then suddenly gives all the love to the second child, wouldn’t you feel grumpy too?
It might have to do with the traditional "I-need-a-male-heir" syndrom, that she got neglected by her parents (and especially her father).

Even the surface of the sun is just a few thousand degrees, not "millions"

@@maxzinmoon4289 Talk to Roku then, when he help Aang to escape from Fire Nation after they both met.

@Maggie Rivers idk why but I really like the theory about Ty Lee
Not all were killed outright some escaped, until they fell into fire nation trap's and faded out.
Since the old saying goes “ashes to ashes , dust to dust” , I wonder could an earth bender control someone body like a puppet? 🤔
metal bending? maybe?
Probably bend the calcium in a person's body to control their movements?🤷🏾
We do have iron inside of us
Maybe the people on strange addictions chewin on brick
You mean bone bending?
15:43 Well, Iroh said that with lightning generation, Firebenders can't really control it after it's released, but, then, for all we know, someone skilled enough in the art actually COULD, and, from there, affecting another's nervous system? I've actually thought about that one, myself.
Sokka didn't lose his boomerang saving fire nation soldiers from falling to their death. He used it to take them down so they couldn't attack him and Toph who were sitting ducks at the time.
I originally thought the Giant Lion Turtles were spirits, not living beings.

Here’s how I think the avatar cycle works:
When the avatar is reborn, Ravva merges with the new avatar.
Except Korra breaks the cycle and can still bend all four elements and can go into the Avatar state while being unable to access previous Avatars
LMAOOO!!! When he said "after trying to impress her Fire Daddy" I hollered!!! 🤣🤣✋

I always thought that they froze the water for a second as it sliced through. 🤔
I heard a fan theory that Sokka and Toph have one of Toph's kids, so having them both have an adventure searching for the space sword could expand on this theory...
I figure these are the most brutal ways benders can kill
Earth: Bending the Iron in the blood (Maybe even super heat it like lava bending)
Water: Bending the blood of the body
Air: Suffocation
Fire: Can literally almost always burn and even just be torturous but I actually think the explosive bending is the way to go
Actually for fire, the most brutal would be if a fire bender figured out a way channel a lightning technique directly into an opponent’s nervous system like ATLA cruciatus curse in my opinion.

I have a few theoretical answers to some of these very good questions:
Q#20: A?: I think it's reasonable to assume that a soul can occupy more than one space simultaneously, so the forest scene atop the Lion Turtle might make more sense than it appears at a glance.
A2?: even if katara is Not using exotic chi-relevent physics, the example shown on screen is applying water whip in a straight line ON IMPACT, in the same way as a mechanical waterjet (there may or may not be other examples in the series that aren't as straightforward, which I may be forgetting, but what I say here at the very least applies to the example in this segment of THIS video.)
Q#14: A?: that's an easy one in my mind.
I believe you are completely correct
Explain?
@@danieldomen2057I think he means since air is in fire water and earth airbenders could control them
İf you think about it waterbenders can heat up water which can lead up to fire or at least heat water is everywhere and it can literally boiled and become airlike and if you try to bend steam you are kinda airbending and you can use water to cut through rocks or even lift rocks of sort so even if you cant bend like toph you can do it to some extend same goes for earth they can lava bend meaning they can play with heat as well if you think about it there is too much to explore and i think because water is a flexible element and its everywhere thats why we see the most powerful benders from watert tribe and most evil ones sometimes as well like amon

We’ve never seen a fire bender bend electricity at low voltages, and for that matter, at low powers. Also, we’ve seen that lightning bending is an extremely rare skill that even Zuko can’t domain. I don’t think mind control could or should be on the table.
True
I don't think lightning bending is that rare since there are factories with lightning benders on them in TLOK. Zuko couldn't do it due to his emotional state in ATLA so maybe he is able to do it in TLOK but we may never know.
@@AdroNier Well, maybe, but even in Aang's time there were very few fire benders who could do it and in Kyoshi's time it was a myth. I believe TLOK abuses on rare skills and offers them to everybody, like blood bending, metal bending and lightning bending.

I wish storm bending was an actual original thing since lightning is actually its own element. It deserves to be it's own kingdom.
