credit goes to Modi government for this long overdue reform to arrest the most inefficient Ordnance factory board. Well done. Thanks to Sekhar ji for this wonderful analysis.
Lack of Innovation, modernisation, delayed deliveries, poor management, and low quality of ammunition, etc., there are numerous issues in OFB factories. Instead of corporatizing, GOI should have made plans for privatising at least some of the factories. Now GOI still pumping money into these new PSUs for modernisation. Hope these will not be new version of money pits again.
Shekhar Ji ... This is very exhaustive and informative 👍. I was part of the Defence Establishment in Chennai. Much needed reforms in the Department of Defence Production. These establishments were only Sleepers eating into the Tax Payers Money. For e.g. every tank produced in HVF would have already incurred cost, time overrun, high overheads including a fat and fatty Workforce that lack skills, knowledge and questionable Attitude above all when it comes to Nation First.
Shaker Sir, great explanation, but Who stopped OFB to modernise these factories. I live in Jabalpur and had the fortune to see 2 factories, a few years back with my own eyes. Bad management of IAS officers sitting in Delhi is given to factories. But still, this decision is good because the intention is good. Shaker Sir, Please do a little more research and share how and who is responsible for the Dhanush guns delay and how raw materials were delayed deliberately. Good Night Sir.
Shaker?? 🙄🙄
@@ArunShankarOfficial oh no 😭
Sir change the headquarters of OFB.
Kolkata is the problem
@@joyshreemanna9360 Should change it to Mumbai or Delhi.
@@kasperia2542 Delhi 'a ok
My ex broke up with me because I used to listen more to Shekar Gupta than to her.
Full power, Ji! Carry on this great work!
Accountability was needed in OFB...And Accountability is rare in government institutions not in Corporate institutions...
Shekhar Gupta is one of the most balanced journalists, no one resents criticism of the Modi govt, people get irritated when 'Journalists ' indulge in their pathological hatred of Modi.
Also need episode on Drone technology and Digi armed technology.. Azerbaijani and Armenia..Is our country prepare for first blow then drone technology is need of the hour 👍
There was a episode on Armenia- Azer war but another detailed one would be appreciated too
That short but intense war should be an eye opener for us .We lack on drones big time and that can' t be make up by buying some from Israel on the last moment.
What a detailed episode. A good way to spend 25 minutes! My knowledge has increased a lot in this time. I really like how SG and the The Print as a whole works. No chik-chick and no jhik-jhik. Simplicity is the best.
General sunderji this technique was called as cold start doctrine , operation brasstax is still the largest military exercise ever took place on earth with more than 4 lakh soliders , the whole world was jaw dropen . it was done without informing rajiv gandhi , as the insurgency in Punjab was at its peak he wanted to deviate the attention of Pakistan .
We , people of India , appreciate your appreciation of good work of Modi government. This is true nationalism.
Modi government decision is correct 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
Gupta ji takes pride, whenever he gets opportunity to speak you were not born at that time but i was there to experience it.
You are not that old Gupta ji, you look young and healthy.
Love the fact that how he explains things so clearly, like a teacher.
As a person whose close family members were in Armed Forces, who spent his 24 years of early life in Cantonments and who cried for days after reading the "Himalayan Blunder" by Brig. J P Dalvi; I find this article/video deeply researched and it hits the nail on the head. Another anomaly is the British legacy of location of major cantonments in the interior of India( for their own control; of Central India) , making the movement of troops to Border , by trains , a mammoth task. Can one imagine that the 1st Armoured Corps Division was based in Jhansi , earlier, although their major field of operation was against Pakistan? This video is not confined, only, to the bare facts , the benefits and the implication of these steps but , also, analyses the root cause of this malady. Kudos to the Print team for this wonderful informative piece .
Subtle joke by SG in the middle about failing in a UPSC exam 🙃
Modi govt bringing great reforms for defense sectors which will be significant contribution for national security buildup....which has never considered by previous power greedy govts.....thank Mr prime minister... Jai hind from UAE 🇮🇳🧘♂️🙏💪✌️
Thank you SG sir for another good and useful episode.
Nikolai Ogarkov has mentioned in a report during afghan invasion " we are not sikh who can conquer Afghanistan "
I was looking forward to this episode on OFB dissolution. A long overdue reform, but as they say "Der aaye, durust aaye" 😎👍🏻
