Hi Balcan Architect! I started a new job and it turned out that i need to learn really fast how to work with families and create them. Your tutorials are saving my ass :) Greetings from Poland!
Thank you so much , great tutorial as always, I just wanted to add some extra tweaks to make it Parametric DOUBLE Sliding Door Family and for that we just need to mirror the void extrusions as well as sliding door panel with necessary lock it in place the positions of mirrored ones with additional reference planes, we need to relocate the opening parameter to the middle of Main door opening void and make another opening parameter to opposite side to move both door panels at the same time once change the opening distance as required , most important one we need to make a new parameter of width of main door opening with formula of Width * 2 once created this parameter then main door opening width automatically multiplied by 2 whenever we input single sliding door opening width and now it can be utilized in placing wardrobe opening or walk in wardrobe openings whenever required.
Great tutorial! Had some fun and added additional reference plane for the opening parameter, so I would have the control handles and be able to pull it directly to a random width that seems good to me in the project. Also I am not sure, but isn't it a good idea to set the model category to a Door in the generic model environment when you start modeling the door? I am not too familiar with schedules but I imagine it would be nice to be able to include it. Thank you and keep up the good work!
This tutorial is the absolute BEST!!! Now I can make my own fcking doors insted of trying with usless families online. THANK YOU BALKAN ARCHITECT!!!!!!!!
In our field of work we have a particular slider we use . Not pocket . They stack on top of each other but are recessed into wall ceiling and floor . So all you see is glass no frame. How would I go about creating this in Revit ?
Hi Mr. Balkan, I copy exactly what you did, all parameters are working but when I load into project it doesn't cut the wall automatically? can you help me pls?
We are two friends trying to come up with a way to work on same projects. We live really close to each other, but we both want to work from our own homes for now. So, what we need to do, set up network or something, so we can work on projects simultaneously , so when him or I do something on the project we both see it. What is the best way to do this?
Hi BA, Have been scribing the $15 per month, but could not access all the previous family files, so I also subscribed to the $5 per month as well, now I only have access to the files and cant access the tutorials! Sorry to post this here!
Use the curtain panel family template, then in the family properties (below type properties, icon with a yellow folder) set the subcategory to door. Then model away! Keep in mind unlike doors the curtain panel dimensions are set by the curtain grid
You cannot, Revit is not (yet) backwards compatible. The only workflow to get geometry backwards is to export as DWG or IFC, then import as a reference in the lower version
I don't understand why instead of adding reference planes and parameters to both the main family and the nested one you have created so many constraints adding dimensions and locking them. That's not what Revit is all about.
@@balkanarchitect ı thought that you are Turkish 😂 Because Balkan is a Turkish word.but anyway you are the best!thank you. Oops.i just check and it's also use in English as Balkan.

How do you like it?
Why Revit 2019 and not 2020 for this project ?
Just to give people a bit more time to switch to the new version 🙂 I'm going to switch soon
