Thank you is not enough to say, I am an interior design student at Collin college, Tx.. I am learning from your videos more than my school. I really appreciate your efforts.
I like the part where you had trouble mirroring the door handle, so you just did a cut and pretended like it never happened, instead switching to a symmetric door handle xD
I would recommend for the rough openeing to dimension the full width or height from the base level. Then lable them R.O. Height and R.O. Width. Then in your properties you can set the R.O. height to = Height + X with x equal to the height you want it to be. Same with R.O. Width = Width + 2(X) this will allow you to put it on a schedule if you desire. I have had instances where on door and window schedules they want both the door and window with as well as the rough opening for each.
I've never understood why people want both because the rough openings are supplier dependant in most cases so its almost impossible to get accurate unless you use the same window supplier every time; but in most cases it varies by builder or who the client prefers to use.
thank you so much, mate. I usually work strictly on curtan wall panels and families, so this simple door has been great for other areas. do you have a tutorial for curtain panel doors?
I am subscribed, and I admit you are exceptional at Revit. But its easy to tell you haven't spent a day in the construction field. What kind of a jamb is that even... (Carpenter of 15 years, CADD user for 10 years)
if you say the date and Revit release you use will be great thank you. in all your videos. please make your photo smaller and remove it to the middle to be able read the Revit warnings on lower bottom screen side.
Hi, excelent tutorial, I have 2 questions, when I import the door to a new floor plan, I cant see the reference lines "the arc" I mean, and the "Opening cut" is visible in the floorplan as a line in the floor, is there a way to remove it?
Thank you so much sir you cover a very tough topic in a very simple way and your explanation is very awesome 👍👍 But you are not added a swing parameter of door then how can I do this??
Thanks a lot but I am wondering about amorf-shaped doors and door openings, I am working on a masonry building and the walls are like 100cm and door openings have different amorf-shaped void types like wider though inside and panel types also changes? can you help me with that?
This is great, but I would appreciate another, more detailed tutorial on how to make more advanced door designs. What if I want to have elements within the door (windows, design features)? Or a door that has a smaller door within it, or a door that isn't rectangular (e.g. a bank vault or submarine door)? Pretty sure there's a lot of potential features left uncovered, so while calling it a "Beginner to PRO" tutorial is catchy, it doesn't feel accurate.
7:12 Before the line i moved it, yes the lock sign is appear. But after unlocked, i cant see the unlock sign make me cant lock it back. Where i can find it?
By Default door families/components have to attach to walls. So you set up parameters to tell Revit how much of the wall has to be cut in order to place the door. Theoretically, you can create a door without a wall parameter, but then every time you place a door you will have to manually cut the opening of each door into the wall. which would be very time consuming. Creating these parametric families can be also very time consuming, but if created correctly, they only have to be set up once, and then be used in every project.
How is a door swing wider than the door? Also, the dash lines in a door elevation is where the hinges are located. You do not place the hardware on the same side as the hinge? I am surprised this video is this inaccurate.
Alright thanx bro thanx, i can make my door perfectly. But...more i think..I think these apps are made for robot humans lol.. too much to click on lol....😅
The Type of mistakes made and going back and forth you do at 16:00 through 16:12 make your videos longer than they need to be. You should know that the program will not let you do that. I find it frustrating that you show me ways the program WONT let you do things. times 2 play speed and it was still hard to sit through.
I searched a video of creating a door in revit on UA-cam..at last I found this Why have you made a video this much long man and also you made this video very complicated too... Try to cover the plot within 15 minutes..

Honestly 🙌🏿
I like the part where you had trouble mirroring the door handle, so you just did a cut and pretended like it never happened, instead switching to a symmetric door handle xD
Do you know why it wasn't mirroring?
@@anonb4629 No idea, sorry
Yeah, just when it turned interesting with a real life problem it was converted into another canned tutorial.
The most useful tutorial I've watched all week.

I love your videos. Been making and editing doors for days at work and for whatever reason watching this video was incredibly cathartic.

your videos are very detailed ! Might i suggest putting up a small graphic in the corner that shows the keys youre typing ? great videos, thank you!
Now you are my source of design soft wares knowledge ,thank you very much.I want to say many things for future about you.
if you say the date and Revit release you use will be great thank you. in all your videos.

brilliant tutorial...keep up the good work
Good families always have good control of reference plane~
Thanks balkan for your effort. Your videos are very helpful..... Keep up the good work 👍💓

Good one.....
Thanks you so much.
Mine is having some errors in the constraints. Is it because of its new version of revit? I'm using 2022 btw.
which laptop is best for 3d design and 3d animation vedio creating for below RS 60000 sir
when i load in to project the handles disappear. they show in 3d no prob
Thanks sir Balkan! More tutorials please about symbolic lines ❤️
M_Door-....... did not appear when I want to load in in revit, but when I check on my files I saw them.
Thank you

I got it, after align those lines. Okay👍
While mirroring hold ctrl key then it wont copy the source
Thank you very much
thanks bro!
why at the start there's a wall in the template? why not just a door? what's the purpose of the wall there?

Take some many steps and long for only a door.
damn one fcking door
So complicated! Just to make a door you have to do so many things! Revit is really unproductive and unnecessarily complicated!
The Type of mistakes made and going back and forth you do at 16:00 through 16:12 make your videos longer than they need to be. You should know that the program will not let you do that. I find it frustrating that you show me ways the program WONT let you do things. times 2 play speed and it was still hard to sit through.

to much talk..
I’ve sent you an Instagram message - struggling here haha.
