I have a few XMAXX’s. I just found today the rear diff bulkhead plastic wears at the rear bearing allowing the pinion gear to move a little out of place. The rear bulkhead of under 20$. I would change that out as well if you have a few miles on your rig. Great video!!!!!
What kind of grease goes on the gears? I have a multipurpose grease that I bought from a hardware store, it's lithium based says it's Good or needle bearings and a bunch of stuff. It has a clear type color to it and the stuff that was in the gear when I took off the cover was green, Does it have to be a special rc gear grease?
Hey Bru-c.. recently my xmaxx fell for the 50th time from the hevens & split the belly in half bent the drive rod, smashed the rear diff.. so now after all chassis etc replacement iv got knocking from either the front the middle or the rear diffs, i inspected all differentials and could only locate a problem with the rear diff and replaced said damaged gears BUT now its still knocking, im more certain now because it onlz knocks loudly when either i brake or when i reverse which with both actions "loads" the front diff, im tempted to unhook the drive shafts from the front to try and isolate one from a probable three problems. what are your thoughts man cheers for any advice.
Taking the load of the front to try to isolate is a good start my friend, just thinking how the wheel hex look and the Inside of rims??? But betting a gear in front half is bad buddy. For sure take apart and look at the front diff. One last thing you didn't forget any bearings in rear diff? Hope this helps my friend

You funny bro. “ not that kind of rear end channel “
Lol thanks I try from time to time Lol !!!
If you keep tearing up gears you might need to shim the gear side to get a better gear mesh!
