Hi if you have only taken off the ring gear then maybe the gasket is missing 9 minutes 24 seconds in the video also make sure the shafts holding the spider gears in place are crossing over each other smoothly it should feel like where the two shafts cross over that they are the same level.
Inside the ring gear and the differential housing there is a 1x rubber seal and then 1x plastic shimm and when the diff is reassembled it should feel hard to turn because of the diff oil. Hope this helps if you have any more questions please ask.
@@Zippy247 I appreciate the info brother. I'm about to buy an X Maxx and another 1/5 scale later. I've been watching a lot of videos and gathering as much information as possible.

Hi Jim the rear differential will be stiffer because it uses much thicker oil than the front differential and the centre differential uses extremely thick oil. When you turn your X-Maxx upside down you should feel that the front differential is quite loose and the rear differential should feel about three times stiffer to rotate.
Good job on this video.
I personally love how easy the X-Maxx is to work on!
Roadside RC It certainly is an amazing truck to work on and thank you for your comment it’s very much appreciated.. 👍😁
Lol I liked! Mine stripped after 5 years but first 800kv run. How to videos are great, thanks!

Your welcome thank you for your message.. 👍👍😎
What am I doing wrong if it works with the cover not being tightened down but binds when covered? I'm not even close to overnightening either.

@Zippy247 hi, I did swap the gasket over. Perhaps it didn't seat properly? I'll double check to make sure.
@@davidseck1146 nice one let me know how you get on.. 👍😎
I noticed no shim's! Is it already shimmed or no? Is the diff tight no wobble or movement?
