Not being able to see the reply to my previous comment (thanks UA-cam!), I'll press on. So, yeah, I like the 'Over Watch' house rule, though I'll probably play RAW initially once I get my forces built. Another optional house rule that came to mind would be a 'Duck Back' rule of 1" on a missed shot. For example the BAR guy standing out there in the open, with cover nearby, taking additional shots. 1" or 1 Base probably wouldn't help much if they are out swinging, but if they are moving tactically, it might allow them to pop into some light cover for follow-on shots though too.

I have included Overwatch in just the way you describe. Works great!

I've seen a few games of this system now and I keep seeing that in MG all three cards are drawn at once. But the rules say that you draw the first shot and depending on whether you hit or not and whether there is an ally of the target nearby, further cards are drawn. Or am I misunderstanding this?

Good game. Very informative. I learn a new thing. We keep reshuffling the deck every time we draw a joker. Yesterday the first turn started with a joker as card 2...so we reshuffle. Then next turn a joker straight away....reshuffle....3rd turn a joker again.....then we decided to place all jokers deep down in the deck.... So thanks to you...we no longer need to reshuffle every time we get a joker. I liked this smaller board. I tried a kill team board (30x22 inches) but it was a bit too small.... What size of tiles did you make . I have been planning to do this for awhile.

I do play with 1/72 soldiers 15 mm tanks by Zvezda and also have used Roco vehicles . I believe it’s 1/87. You mentioned that you play solo . What rules do you use ? Thanks for the video

Hello, I created a game that has a much better dynamic for combat, including aerial battles, than this one. I'll soon be getting its patent here in Brazil, and if you're interested in purchasing it, I'll share the link. In it, I was able to conduct battles with over 50 airplanes together with my 8-year-old son, without getting lost or confused. I originally created my game in 1998, during a time when there were no computers. During the pandemic, and now with my kids, I started working on it again, and I believe it has a lot of potential. It seems much more fun to play than the one shown in the video.

In close combat the attacker draws TWO cards

If a target is shot at when in cover they get an extra card

You only draw for initiative at the start of a turn, not after every pair of activations.

Remember that when drawing more than one card for defensive conditions such as cover, to pull all applicable cards, 2,3 etc. not stop it the defence card is higher than the attack! 😉👍

Have just ordered "The gentlemans war" starter pack as well as some books and stuff to have a crack at Bolt Action, but already pondering trying it in 10 mm... Its a size/cost thing. I have some rather lovely colonial 10 mm Pendrakens from earlier, so not to worried about that scale. I think about gettting a grasp on the game mechanics and rules in 28mm, and when a sound understanding of the game is there, scale down.

U clean with alcohol and grease with what type of grease?

I went into BA years ago, but didn't have the space, money, and time to build and play 28mm size units. But with 3D printing (Lots of free WW2 vehicle files available) and purchasing some FOW figs in 15MM scale it makes it affordable and fit my smaller table.

I loooove this game, I wish it wasn't so hard to find planes :( And news of reprints is nonexistent.

Imo you made some mistakes at the shooting phase.

I highly recommend these rules. Fast , easy to get down and works most of all very well. Especially for the one playing solo. Out comes never the same and totally unpredictable.

One Hour Skirmish rules are a great set of fast and easy pace rules to get down. If you haven't tried them yet I recommend you give them a try. Other great part of these rules is you can pretty much use them across any era.

Looks fun. The systems reminds me a little bit of an RPG system I've been working on for years, only it uses tarot cards instead of playing cards.

What a fun , quick, easy and versatile set of game rules. I am becoming a major fan of this rule set. I highly recommend these rules especially if getting someone new into the hobby.

Glad you pulled so many Jokers... This is one of several reasons that you're only supposed to shuffle a deck when it is exhausted. Any way, great video and fun scenario. Thanks for sharing.

It definitely takes time to work on your minis and the terrain , with a little bit of time each day spent on them you would be surprised how much you can accomplish in short period of time .

Cant say it enough! Keeping it simple will help you go far in getting into any miniature wargaming. More play time, less stress and feelings of being overwhelmed. Getting overwhelmed when new to this hobby can happen quick. One factor to help avoid this and failure in this hobby. Keep it simple stupid!! Ty all who have wached.

I definitely found Warhammer 40K games to be way too long with a full board and two full armies. I now prefer skirmish style games with small squad/platoon level engagements.
