50 Years of the Porsche 917 at Goodwood FoS 2019: 917 LH, Road Legal, PA Spyder, 917K, 917/30

Last year Porsche celebrated the 50th anniverdsary of their legendary 917, which was introduced in 1969. During the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed no fewer than eleven Porsche 917s (1 of these remained static in the paddock) were gathered in order to dinamically celebrate this important milestone with several generations and evolutions of the car. Always a treat to see (but moreover hear) 917s on the pedal. Slightly (hugely) embarrassing that the one wearing USA/Texas plates is wrapped in cheap chrome wrap, but what can you expect? We yanks are a culture-less lump with no respect for heritage, and some of us are all about "we can afford it so now you can all piss off cause its mine - I do what I want". Apologies from the colonies. Begging your pardon, some of us do know better.

The car you are referring to was converted into a street legal car by Count Rossi (an Italian man). It's an amazing story that many look at fondly.
