    Thanks Leo. It looks like this app was created with live performance in mind and it will be very helpful.

      I had a lot of input on this app, the idea of sequencers per layer was mine :), Paul has been very kind to go along with my suggestion, he is such a great developer… yes I wanted to have a programme that went over the limit of multiple arpeggios you find in workstation. For example Roland Fantom is disappointing when it comes to multiple arpeggios, so this does it and it is great, you can have lots of great performances live and you can even switch lights on and off from the app… LOL

    What? Where did that come from?
    Paul surprises us again.. I like surprises.. Thanks for giving us a peak at the new app..

    Great preview, Leo! I’m no expert but Helium has the same midi port layering capability, but it’s driven by sequencing, whereas this Layers app would be ideal for live performance. I use MainStage for live, but have long been looking for an iOS alternative. It would be awesome to just take my iPad and a midi keyboard to a gig. I keep expecting Apple to release MainStage for iOS but it relies heavily upon Logic’s virtual instruments, which take up a huge amount of space. The advantages of Layers with AUM is that it’s wide open to any AUV3 instruments and FX, which I really like. I’m just wondering if 12 scenes is enough?

      You can have multiple instances of Layers and not synch them I suppose…

    Hi Paul, amazing App!
    How can I do smooth transitions between scenes? . I have some troubles when i’m using the sustain pedal, the notes still hold on. Please help me, thanks!

    Thanks, Leo! This looks like it's going to be a strong challenge to Camelot and KeyStage.

      Yes and it works very well in AUM…

      @@soundformore Did you see any indication that it would be able to trigger a "backing track"?

    • @soundformore
      @soundformore  Рік тому

      No, but you can achieve that inside AUM with file player and midi control for now…

      I guess that means I’ll finally have to learn AUM. ;)

    hi thanks for a very informative video! im using midilayers thru aum. is there a way to assign a midi keyboard’s knob/slider to control scene and mute control layer? thank you

    • @soundformore
      @soundformore  Рік тому +1

      Yes those parameters are exposed and you can drive them using cc messages which then are controlled by a midi keyboard slider or knob

    Thanks great demo. What is the difference between a output port and midi channel ?

    • @soundformore
      @soundformore  Рік тому

      In AUM output ports are used to establish connectivity with different sources regardless of what midi channel is used through the port selected for connection…

      Each port can use 16 channels so this gives you access to control a lot more instruments, ie 16* the number of ports.

    I assume it can work with external hardware within a host such aum ?or am I wrong?

    That guy Paul at 4Pockets just doesn’t stop, does he? One great app after another, and same with you Leo! One great tutorial after another! However, I must say that the sky is not the limit. DSP is the limit! 😸🎛
