Nice to hear from you again. I see you've been busy with family and life. For the Nintendo Switch generation being 8 years, it is what it is. Do I agree that it should be that way given especially with it's top selling game being a port of a game that is turning 10 years old this month and that it may not have games that surpass Xenoblade Chronicles X on a technical level across the board? I don't, but it is what it is. My main stance on that is that I hope the success, long life span, and record breaking feats of it does not make it hard enough for the Switch successor to not succeed especially if it delivers the best of what Nintendo delivers in its exclusive and next gen only games. Art style over graphics talk I may have agreed with for a time prior, but at this time, right now, I don't necessarily agree with. My stance on that is those that have the competent art or graphical style match with the tech that has caught up or almost caught up to be able to show it be the best that it can be will hold up more than the competent art or graphical style where the tech still has a ways to go. Stellar Blade I think counts as a second party title for Playstation given their hand in funding it, assisting in giving tips on where to improve with the game, and their partnership with Shift Up for the title. Now to end on a more positive note, I am looking forward with my time with Stellar Blade that I recently started playing which I have played the demo of it as well. I can see the passion with it with an up and coming team like Shift Up especially from an Asian team outside of Japan and specifically in South Korea. And I have a good feeling I will be enjoying my time with it and that it will be a gem.
Square Enix canceled games and lost $140 million. This is what happens if you make a deal with Sony and don't make the returns that are going to keep your company afloat. Case in point: Final Fantasy XVI and VII Rebirth failed to make the sales due to ballooned costs and console exclusivity to the PS5. Microsoft shut down 4 Bethesda studios (far as I know, it's Arkane Austin and Tango GameWorks). Take-Two just recently shut down 2 studios. The story as of now is being developed. Seems like as of now, almost over 200 game studios got shut down over the past decade.
What I have picked up during this year: Deathwish Enforcers: If you like old school arcade platform shooters, then this is a game for you. WARNING: THIS GAME CONTAINS ADULT AND GRAPHIC CONTENT. VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED. Princess Peach Showtime: a nice plaftorm game starring Princess Peach. Developed by the same people who did Yoshi's Wooly World and Crafted World: Good-Feel (founded by an ex-Konami employee who created the Goemon franchise). Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown: picked this up at a Wal-Mart for $30. That's a steal! Future pickups: Slave Zero X, Gravity Circuit (Physical), Unicorn Overlord, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, Shin Megami Tensei V, Megaman Battle Network Legacy Collection, Tomb Raider Trilogy Collection, Rocket Knight Adventures Re-Sparked, El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron. That's all the positive things out of my chest. Now on to the bad things going on in gaming, which will be explained next comment.
