You know at no point did Gulliman ever think to go. "Hey Cawl, you're 10,000 years old right? You remember what we dreamed of, what we fought for. The whole point of the imperium?" "Yes my primarch" *Looks around at the current imperium* "What the actual shit Cawl!?"
Cawl probably has a (slightly) different perspective tho. Because no doubt the fact that Mechanicus was given leeway to worship the omnisiah and by extension the emperor has had a lot to do with the proliferation of the God Emperor faith. But we have the emperor himself for unleashing the Astartes on the galaxy because they are arguably the worst thing to have happened to humanity lol. Now chaos has never been stronger and there are near immortal, chaos corrupted biological superweapons running amuck for the past 10 thousand years...tearing rifts clear across the galaxy and shit lol. Even the Iron man uprising and psycher plague only lasted a few thousand. And we defeated both without the aid of a single space marine lol.
Every time a chapter asked for more guns, more geneseed, more terminator armor ...They were actually IN STOCK for 10,000 years but reserved for those Primaris :p
Well honestly probably better off that way. Fully equipped legions of primaris marines ready to go at a moments notice, rather have more fully trained bodies than unmanned equipment.
Trazyn: i want to leave my mechanical body and become flesh. Belisarius: i want to leave my flesh body and become machine. Together: Fascinating i must collect you
Just to clarify cawl does not want to be fabricator general, specifically the cawl inferior continues to beseech roboute gilliman to appoint the true cawl to the position. Whether this is a suble ploy by cawl to obtain the position or not, is a truth known only the cawl himself. Love your videos.
MAKES ME remember the book about cawl trying to convince gulliman that cawl inferior is just there to help gulliman and is not infact a copy of cawl , suffice to say gulliman was skeptical at best , down right suspicious at worse.
“…forced to purge his intelligence core of data approximately every 500 standard years due to its limited capacity…” My guy, does the 41st millennium not have external hard drives? I imagine that far in the future they have likely exceeded Yottabytes for data storage capabilities.
The short of it is that the focus of the Adeptus Mechanicus is not on developing new technology but on rediscovering lost knowledge and maintaining existing tech with which they maintain a somewhat mystical, pseudo-religious relationship. By the 41st millennium, humanity has surged and waned and is presently in the throes of a long technological decline. The workings of ancient great technologies are no longer well understood by humanity but are venerated as holy relics.
@@manw3bttcks I think OP's objection is why so far in the future, storage would be so limited as to run out so frequently. With a 500-year period being too frequent by their estimation.
Personally, I imagine the Primaris Project took a few thousand years because the Emperor had made geneseed so perfectly and harmoniously balanced that Space Marine bodies could be practically immortal unless killed. So trying and failing to make anything work, having a small breakthrough before taking a sabbatical for more research, creating more parts of the armory whilst doing it in secrect could take a 1,000 years, but 10,000 is kinda hard to buy.
Nah the scientists of luna and terra made the geneseed the emperor just layed out the outline and forged the primarchs (he didn’t even do that by himself though he did do the heavy lifting”
It makes more sense when you think he couldn’t do it, until he learned something new much later on. Also remember the possibility of starting and failing countless times.
You need to make a correction. Cawl Inferior asked to be made Fabricator General, NOT Cawl himself. Cawl states himself he does not want to be Fabricator General. I believe this is mentioned in the book Genefather.
I agree but bear in mind it’s just a computerized text to speech program. The computer is the heretic; or it may be occupied by a heretical machine spirit. Either way it definitely calls for exterminatus. READY THE CYCLONIC TORPEDOES!!
This whole video was very informative and entertaining with some good pictures along the way!!! But I do have a question (which while writing it out, it might lead to more)…… So you said Roboute knew what he was doing and how he was clearly crossing the line to create illegal things and being, right? If so then what (if anything) did he do to stop him? And if he didn’t why not?!? I’m not sure if I actually understand the difference between a regular SM and a Primaris SM?!? The only thing I’ve seen is that it has more of a variety of different suits!?! Is that it?
The primaris are basically just space marines2.0 they are bigger and stronger and overall better soldiers. I think you’re asking why guilliman didn’t try to stop cawl from making them right? I think it’s mainly because they’re better than space marines and the empire needs them right now.
@@Max-zr7hr yes, that’s what I was asking….. mostly….. I know this is a “fiction” and can get away with a lot (even when it makes zero sense)!?! But many other fiction also cover this! And for the most part, follow the same rules!?! And that is, once you start allowing yourself to break the rules because “you NEED to”, it becomes very difficult to stop yourself from breaking the rules because “you want to”!?! Either way, I was just confused and felt like I was missing something! So thanks!!!
Nah. Guy Haley is a very fine writer but he could not do enough. GW should have rolled out realscale marines without affecting the lore. Even Daddy Dan Abnett couldn't sweep up this mess.
Kinda agree with you, the business choices GW make should not impact the lore. Having ''super-dooper'' Astartes is rather silly, how did Cawl manage to do better than the Emperor?

“What? I just got a little distracted”
Belisarious mind is not really that of one personality like that of a primarch any longer though.
as Thane in Mass Effect would say "Entropy wins, entropy always wins." Especially in a bloodstained lovecraftian romp like Warhammer. XD
Also I love this comment. XD i rolled my eyes and cackled.

so, the mechanicus did not actually lie when stating that they had none to spare xD

I think that means the storage on his body runs low, he dumps that overflow to storage not on his person
