I love the Deathwatch cus they have people from basically every chapter so you get a lot of different personalities and specialties and they are all basically veterans
The deathwatch - the one chapter where everyone absolutely hates each other. Think, all these space marine chapters that have grudges against others, then their elites all have to go serve in the death watch with grudges… and the Sons of Sanguinius have to hold the blood lust back, space wolves turning slowly into werewolves, marines Malevolant being so close to turning to Chaos and having lost so many to Chaos already… fratricides between chapters… it would be a horrid punishment. There’s a story where a Blood Angel chapter sent rookies as a F you and because they being young are least likely to crave blood.. it would suck.
I think you’re mis-remembering that story. I’m fairly sure the mean the young Space Wolves who couldn’t contain their bloodlust. “Try telling these lads to sneak in the shadows” I believe was the message. Otherwise, the marines get psycho indoctrinated for weeks with all the footage of their brother marine’s combat feed. Showing them every death and every heroic deed. Every time one of their rival chapter brothers has sacrificed themselves to save a chapter brother. By the end, the marines have a sense that their war, their Watch is greater then their petty rivalries. Even though some habits die hard, it does help to grease the wheels of teamwork.
Here in the south we have Serpents Breath shotgun rounds. They're sold under the name Dragons Breath. It's a mix of magnesium, aluminum powder, and fine steel wool😊
He was sent to the deathwatch to serve penance for a decade hes 200 in space marine 2 not trying to spoil anything but it's related to first mission of the campaign@@Calcific9
? I was always under the impression that the death watch answer directly to the order xenos of the inquisition.. they are their militant wing after all .. malleus has grey knights, hereticus have sisters, xenos have death watch. Actually the grey knights and sisters have more anynonimity from the inquisition than the death watch.
After the War of the Beast that necessitated the invention of the DeathWatch concept, they were given over to the control of the Inquisition to avoid disbandment. It was at this point the Ordos Xenos and Malleus were formally recognised. Their recognised chamber militants assigned accordingly. The Grey knights existing prior to this formal separation, they won't take shit from the Inq but are essentially of one mind in practice. The Death Watch is directly controlled by OXenos, but operational command of the Watch Commander.
Doesn't the majority of humanity already live as slaves and die horribly no matter what they do? Outside of anyone with higher rank than guardsman, being human in the imperium is hellish so I always scratch my head when checking out 40k lore and hear "to protect humanity from x and y". Guess the writers are making the point that rulers of humanity are truly disconnected from the everyday reality of actually being human under the emperor's rule?
Not really. 1. 40k is a setting, not a story. There are a million worlds in the imperium, feudal worlds where there is no technology and where the vast majority of the population are techno primitive and are left with fairly light expectations from the imperium as exposure to xenos would ensure social collapse, and superstition that chaos could prey upon. Hive cities are pretty bad but their occupants do have their moments of respite. 2. Chapter homeworlds are usually pretty chill. 3. Terra is gay. 4. The real horror is not being an imperial subject or even a seevitor, but to be one of the millions needed to load the cannons on imperial battle ships.
Try reading some of the books instead of listening to the YT folks all the time. The planets are varied and wildly different. Read Guant’s Ghost or Eisenhorn and Ravenour and you are shown worlds not much different from ours. They still suck, but in more of a late stage capitalism type of way. The tabletop rule books are only the tip of the iceberg that is WH40k.
This is what I love about 40k! The preeminent warriors of dispensing wholesale death and destruction to the terrors of the universe and its their chaplain that makes them nervous; "a bit too aggressive". Aaaaaahahahahahahahaaaaaaa
you know i dont think 40k could stand against the borg , i mean the borg with their nanites and 40k with all their cybernetic implants and almost everybody in 40k has cybernetic inhancements.
Maybe a good scrap against like 3 chapters and a few regiments against the entire Borg race but against the actual full force of the imperium which I don’t think they’d do they’re kind of fighting everyone everywhere all the time, the Psychers, Astartes, Custodes, Sisters the best of the militarum regiments, and last but not least the mechanicus would smack that ass. Not to mention a dozen other things like majority of soldiers are just equipped not chromed out like in cyberpunk. It’s very practical like “I lost my arm now I have a metal arm with a grenade launcher cuz reasons” Also the Borg are push overs compared to the threats the great crusade faced their just cruel and into computers not a real threat… Space Marines die a lot in the lore but only to each other or crazy shit.. they’re Demi Gods even to the Borg.. legions standing alone back in the day would wipe out super advanced systems spanning xenos in like a couple years that had been there for like 10000… lol also the numbers on each side 😂 Tbh the full might of the DW cud possibly get it goin against them and do serious damage
Yeah I think you forget about the psykers. A Grey Knight squad and some Custodes would mollywhop the Borg mothership. Necrons would march right thru them. Orks would finally have a never ending WAAAGH! Tzeentch and Nurgle daemon princes would overcome their nanites and the Borg hivemind would retreat the moment they assimilate a Noise Marine
About the orks I think they would demolish the borg. The borg wouldn't know what to do with their numbers and absurdity. We must remember that the borg are physically strong by standard human levels...orks rival space marines. If there is any race that give orks their endless fight its the Tyranids as we saw in the war for Armageddon
Not my favorite worrying style. Not sure how to put it, but it felt too familiar. Almost like something i wrote in school that i got seriously corrected on. It's an hour or if my night at work though, so whatever xD
Still the most soothing and best of 40k narrators
Sounds like if grandpa was a Warhammer 40k loremaster

The Emperor Protects!
Chapter 9 is kicking my ass. I was doing fine against brood lords, even with 2-3, then all of a sudden Chapter 9 kicks off and I keep dying.
That's the DeathWING not teh Deathwatch :P
i am new to warhammer 40k im loving it so far, ty for this awesome video

Hilarious 😂
It’s the French Foreign Legion of the 41st M.
“You two characters… are going to Death Watch…best of the best”
I can't believe I'm saying this

Wonder how a Grot would fare against .50bmg ratshot
I like the deathwatch because it’s different loyalist legions coming together to destroy the xenos that may pray on humanity
Well I'm gonna be buying that new death watch book now
40k twisted version of French or Spanish foreign legion with a touch of socom and pmc stuff and a bit more too
Really feel like this audio put into podcast form would be very successful without a doubt
Drink every time you hear deathwatch
I did, now I'm dead

Hmmmm, I wonder if this is where Titus went after the events of the first Space Marine game?
After 100 years of confinement for inquisition interrogation, (inquisitor turned out to be tainted) pretty sure he just got to go back to his chapter

Leandros son of a Witch button
A Space Marine chapter made up of the best of the best?! Whoever heard of such a thing?!?!
And their way of fighting wasn't always recorded in the codex of astartes
