  • One of the lads in the club gave me a lambretta engine for a strip and check. I am extremely surprised that this actually ran!
    Check out the horrors I found inside this puppy.

    Amazing it was still a runner.... of some sort. Lambretta's are more like a box of chocolates, you definitely don't know what you got until you open the lid.
    Great video btw.

    Just restarting an Indian GP Rebuild (or two) after a gap of 15 years.... Would have been inspired to finish them then if you'd been youtubing in those days! Cheers mate...

    Enjoyed the video Rob. You didn’t show how you take the bearing track off the crank. A right b@stard of a job but I now have puller tool which makes light work of it. 👍

    • @kickbackgarage
      @kickbackgarage  4 роки тому +2

      Thats comming mate, I have a puller but never used it before. Thats also why I didnt show off my MB crankshaft tool as that can also be used to fit the main bearing. I am going to try and brake the rebuild up into small sections. I had to strip it fast because the owner is going to the uk for christmas shopping and I needed to to give his a shopping list!

      Haha. Of course not! The spring was against the bearing. I had to cut out the mention of that because it just made me sound really grumpy. I'm trying my best to keep positive vibes 😊

    One would think removing flywheel would be first so as not to break any fins while taking clutch out while engine resting on the fins? Thoughts?

    • @kickbackgarage
      @kickbackgarage  2 роки тому

      You don't brake fins with a Lambretta flywheel holding tool because it doesn't hold the fins themselves.

    • @cjread-jones1528
      @cjread-jones1528 2 роки тому

      @@kickbackgarage Nah I think we have our wires crossed here...If you lay the engine down and remove the clutch etc...first. You then are running risk of cracking a fin while engine weight is on them...Whereas if you remove flywheel first then eliminate the risk of cracking a fin...Or am I bonkers saying this?

    Approximately how much on average does it cost to redo a lambretta 150Li

      How long is a piece of string? 🤷 It depends on how much needs doing.

    Hi, what drift are you using in this vid to take the main bearing out. Is it an MB front hub/bearing tool. Looks like it?
    A confirmation would be great. Thanks

    • @kickbackgarage

      Yes I do but you can practically use anything! A socket will work just as good.

    Hi, what you using to knock the main bearing out. Looks like an MB front hub and bearing drift?
    What else can i use that i might have in the garage. Want to knock mine out but won't re-use.
    Don't really want to purchase yet another drift for one job where i'm gonna chuck bearings out.
    Any advice? Appreciated.
