@@kickbackgarage You have been neglecting your Bible (stickies ) reading my son , seek and yee shall find now say 10 hail inocentis to the Lambretta god's for your disbelief
I did a rear hub seal and the seal with a Rolf, it stick out out if bearing about a 1mm, I spoke to Luke at MB he told to use verniers and measure how far the oil seal sticks out with verniers it was 0.9mm, he said the recess in the retaining plate takes into account for this, I got the 0.9mm, but flipping it over its 1.2mm, all 3 plates are all double sided.
This has been so interesting to watch for me, being a bike geek, I just love the technicals........must be an illness...PS...what a neat little tool re layshaft...
I have just fit bgm in a mates scooter and they aren't as tight a fit as mb in the case which makes them a tad easier to fit. If you are in the UK, then most main dealers can sell you a complete kit. Mb are fast at delivering if in stock, so is scootopia.
@@kickbackgarage Ah yes that's what it'll be. Your videos are an excellent resource for me as I attempt to rebuild my li125s engine with BGM RT 195 kit. Total novice btw....
@@kickbackgarage I know, that is why I was asking if there was a way to use the MB tool to draw it in like you did with the crank bearing instead of hammering on it
I thought you were talking about the layshaft. You can drift bearings without problems as long as the drift being used contacts the outer bearing ring. It's only unsafe to drift a bearing if you knock it in on the center bearing race.
Hi Rob the oversize pawls are for use if the holes on the selector wishbone have worn so you drill the holes from 5mm to 5.5mm and use oversize pawls
I don't think the holes are as big as 5mm. 🤷♂️ I've always used the standard size pawls. You are better off asking the manufacturer I think mate.

The annoying thing about UA-cam studio is that I have no idea which video you are commenting on 🤣
@@kickbackgarage Lambretta gear box part 1.. lol
You forgot too check the layshaft end plate side where the bearing sits for wear 😉
Keep up the good work Rob, uk now near on total lockdown 😕
I heard mate. Welcome to the club :(

Brill. Glad you like it!
Rob just watched this again as I bought an SX 150 and wondered if you could recommend a complete bearing kit including seals etc

Hey Rob great video's. As a newbie here - what's the red stuff you put on the frame before the bearning?
Thanks. Do you mean the grease?

It's a nice kit. Just take your time and you will be fine 😎
Red rubber grease, weren't it?
wait for the sales in two months if we survive ? keep safe
Anyway to use the MB tool to draw it in the bearing vs hammering on it?
Hammering can cause premature failure because you can knock the inner ring out of alignment.

Loving the commentary. Sound like you lived in Manchester or Leeds for a while
Close enough. Born in Salford, grew up in Blackburn. 😉
Back in the early 80s we simply winged it. Stage 4 tune (AF) Expansion Chambers etc. Great watch how you explain a rebuild. 👍
Thanks
Could be a daft question but isn't there supposed to be and oil seal fitted.
Seal where mate? If you mean the rear hub bearing, it sits on the outside.
@@kickbackgarage oh right thanks, knew it was a stupid question lol. But don't learn anything if don't ask them .
No such thing as a stupid question mate.
