I’m so sorry about the lighting/quality in the middle of the video 😭 I don’t know how I didn’t realize how awful it was 🤦🏻♀️ You can’t even see what I’m doing for like two minutes lol but I really didn’t want to scrap this video since it was my first impressions.. you can skip to 7:35 to get past it!
I always leave the cast in my hair if I do my hair before bed and it lasts way better throughout the night with the hold from the cast and then I scrunch out the crunch in the a.m. Makes my morning routine so much quicker.
This is the technique I use! There's definitly a learning curve but once you get the hang of it, it's really easy. I twist my hair a bunch of times around the handle as I pull down to unravel it if that makes sense. Worth a try for people who don't get uniform waves/curls with just scrunching
I really appreciate you showing us your trial and error. it makes me feel so much more confident in using my Denman brush. I bought one but have been feeling sooo nervous to use it lol
How did you like it? I am just starting (literally just had my first wash sat) And not sure if it would work for me bc combing my hair makes the curl fall out
You have the same waves as me. I'm part Iranian and have really dark wavy hair at the back and more straight and a very loose wave at the front. I've just discovered the curly girl method and realised my hair wants to be curly/wavy! Love those coils in this vid will try this method! I have my hair in a t shirt drying for the first time ever. Haven't brushed it. Bought moose and argan oil, looking forward to this journey! From Birmingham UK
@@jenniferguevara2809 I’ve pretty much given up on volume anyway since my hair is very thin and fine... the only thing that gives it volume is diffusing, but my hair hates heat. 🤷🏻♀️
Watching you struggling makes me relate so much. That was literally me using the brush the first time, i kinda get upset when i see other videos that make it look so simple hahahahaha
When I put my hair upside down, my hair gets so tangled so I just put the product in my hair and style it. I put my head side to side and that fixed that problem
I think it looks so pretty! I’ve been really having problems with my hair curling or waving. Do you have any tips on that? I need more products and I’m not a big fan of the NYM curl cream. What’s another one that is good but good with price?? Thanks!!
For this technique, I think the Denman is overhyped. Wavies can do this with a regular paddle brush, though a Denman-sized brush will get a tighter curl/wave.
I did this technique on Wednesday for the first time and I loved how defined my hair looked but it made it super flat. I definitely need something for volume. :(
Mousse! It’s lighter and much friendly to wavies compared to gel as creams/gels can weigh your hair down especially if it can’t hold curls very long or if you just struggle with volume. I have my nym curl defining cream and i’m planning on buying the john frieda curl activator mousse. I have a styling gel from As I Am and it works wonderful on my hair however no matter how hard I try at the end of the day after diffusing and all that my hair volume is just gone and all I’m left with is defind curls... mousse at this point may be my only answer for the hair flatness.
I’m the same. If I have ringlets and definition, I have no volume. If I style for volume my definition lacks. Every now and then I have a unicorn wash day where I have both but I can never do it on purpose. Such is the saga of curly hair.
@@LisaF_ I've pretty much given up too lol. I can only get volume on wash days or when I fluff out my hair and even then it falls flat lol.... I'd rather have defined curls and barely any volume than ugly frizzy hair at this point. Non wash days is perfect and that is a-okay with me :)
Your hair looks like it isn't sopping wet. My hair does best with a denman if I use it on sopping wet hair. Also, my understanding is the wavy haired people need to take out several rows. I use 3 - the first, middle, and last ones.
Can you try the Top Down method with the Denman? Also when I use the Denman this way I find twirling the brush upwards towards the ceiling gives me way more volume.
Thanks for sharing your real-life experience. Found you because the global panini forced me to grow out my short, wavy hair and I’ve been forced to experiment with a new way to withstand my longish mullet. Appreciate your recommendations but I’m lazy and my hair is so porous that it will remain damp forever. 😒⏳
I dont know if it's the best one, but i've been really loving the maui moisture curl quench shampoo and conditioner lately. It's great to try out and it's also not too expensive.
If you’re looking for organic healthier ingredients I also suggest you try Giovanni’s hair care line. You can usually find it in the organic section if it’s not in your regular hair section. I have their tea tree shampoo and it has helped SO MUCH on scalp irritation, dandruff, and hair health. I can’t co-wash whatsoever that technique only led me to inflammed hair and scalp which is why i had to go for the natural route. The styling gel is actually pretty good too i suggest you give it a shot :)
I use a moisturizing hair mask and mix it with a protein Mask and leave it in my hair for about 15 min. This make my hair so soft and it’s looks so healthy.
You can try “denman brush first impression on wavy/curly hair” video toturial by johanna deutschman. She shows diffrent and easier technique. And ı tried it and ı get more curl definition on that technuque. 💞💕💘

No worries! I love your videos either way, we are getting to see the process and the struggle you’re fine😆
You did great and the lighting was fine!! Hello fellow curly beauties!!!! We shall learn together....I'm 51 with long curly color treated hair......✌

That's brilliant!
I do the same but honestly don't even have to sotc in the morning
@@wrathika same here.
Do you know, I never thought of that! Thank you so much, I’ll try it next time :)

Good to know 💗😊
I do the same thing as well and it's amazingly uniform for me with 2C/3A strands.

I typically don’t like first impression videos when it comes to makeup. I love it with this brush. The struggle is real.
Tabitha, you should try the technique that India Batson used with her Denman brush it looks a lot easier and it looked great!

Ahhhh the end result was so pretty! I personally prefer definition over volume(I know, I’m weird). I think it’s so pretty!! And shiny 🤩
Thank you!! That’s not weird haha we all have different preferences! And I like both depending on what I’m feeling 😁
Me too, girl. I love having more definition since that would last me several days. Volume comes along with it hahaha.

Your hair looks so nice!! 😍 I had a Denman brush for a few weeks, i'm definitely trying this right now🤗
Thank you!! Ooh let me know how it goes 🤍
The brush from Scrunch It is made specifically for this purpose. Shaped well, smooth, much easier. Check them out.
I’m gonna show my hairstylist a picture of your hair color and length
I’m in looooove
You’re so beautiful and sympathetic
That’s so sweet! Good luck 💗 hope you end up loving your hair! 😊
I felt so related. I feel dumb trying these techniques and strugling lol
I liked your video. I'm gonna try this.
When I put my hair upside down, my hair gets so tangled so I just put the product in my hair and style it. I put my head side to side and that fixed that problem
I use detangler spray 1st, mouse 2nd, did everything you did on styling, Sunching gel at end, let dry & use a light weight oil & had lots of volume.
Hey Tabitha your Denman brush results look amazing, can u show us a more beachy wave look.
Can wait to try this! Was your hair wet or damp when you went in with the brush?
Holy cow! I am so going to try this on my next wash day. My hair will NOT clump and it is definitely low density.
This is absolutely gorgeous!
How long did this take you? It turned out so great!

I get that! I agree this technique doesn’t utilize the actual brush part as much..

With Wavy Hair it shouldn’t be drenched with water or the product won’t seep in and will take years to dry

Shea Moisture moisture retention shampoo, nym moisture mask, Kristen Ess deep treatment mask, verb ghost shampoo and conditioner
I just can’t get this to work. It makes my hair look less wavy and it even ripped a bit of my hair out :(
I love it!!! :)
Looks great.
Nice video sis💘
I have better luck with this brush using the other end. It is not as difficult as using the handle and I get doll ringlet curls.
This could be the method you use if you plan to be in a hat at the beach all day anyway. Looks good!
