Keith Urban isn't only a talented singer and musician, he's a fine human being. And Glen Campbell is an American classic.
Oh he sure is and Glen as well.
@@drienie2329 most would even say "a piece"
Yup. Keith put his ego aside. How rare these days…
Not into Urban but Glen.... He's the best player on the planet back then! 🎸🤗
I agree 👍 hole heartly have a listen to slim dusty Aussie Ballards he was a great Man as well Kieth urban had The sheet music AT age of 10 years old to light's no the hill truckie song's slim did over a 100 albums God bless you and your family warren and ingrid Melbourne Australia 😎🇦🇺💙⭐
watching the kindness that Keith Urban shows to Glen Campbell is so beautiful; brings me to tears every time I watch this. so beautiful. THank you Keith Urban for your kind and gentle care of Glen Campbell
That is so well put.
Amen!
A legendary Glen with Alzheimers. Keith sat close to him, looked him in the eye, sang when he forgot his words and carried him through.Kept his dignity. Such a sweet exchange!
He wasnt really that bad yet. You see Glen fumbling with the capo. He finally just takes it off and plays on....Sweet! 🥰❤🕊
He s a good man that Keith.
Glen didn't have Alzheimer's here in 2009... two years later he would discover he had it. 😭
Jimmy Webb wrote that song specifically for Glen. He wanted him to write a song for him about a town and Jimmy wanted to go farther and write about an ordinary blue collar guy and his dreams. He sent it to Glen without finishing it as Glen wanted to hear what he had already. Jimmy wanted to add more to it but Glen happily said it was finished when he added somewhat of a bass solo to the end which was perfect.
Amen Brother!🙏🙏💯💯
When Glenn comes in with solo guitar, the look on Keith’s face - “I’m the luckiest guy in the world.”
Well, my respect and admiration for Keith Urban just went up about 1000%.
Keith must have felt he had died and gone to heaven !!!!!
Yep. @@lennyhaynes2570 That had to be a "bucket list" item for Keith... what a thrill!
It was Awesome
Ditto
There is no such thing, but I agree he acknowledged one of the best ever guitarists and did a fair job on the instrument as well.
Thank you Keith for showing such respect ✊ to this kind legend Mr. Glen Campbell.
Hello dear, how are you doing, how is the weather over there?
Wow grateful for this
Can you even imagine seeing this live? It would be a highlight in my life. Much respect for Keith. He is a class act.
I absolutely 💯 ♥️
My husband and I were there that night. It was truly a privilege to see these two perform together.
I was there that night it was magical beyond belief. ❤❤❤
National treasure and one of the greatest guitar players to ever pick up the instrument . God bless Glen Campbell.
My favorite guitarists are Luther Perkins, Carl Perkins, Chet Atkins and Willie Nelson.
Keith Urban has no idea how lucky he is to know this man. Glen and a host of others were the potatos or grits that made the rest of the dinner incomplete without them.
I think Keith knew indeed how blessed he was to share the stage with this beautiful man nunyer beeznaz
No doubt he knew !!!! That was so awesome !!!!
RIP Glen. Just read a tribute from Jimmy Webb that said Glen thought Keith was a "Monster" on guitar.
I am in awe of how kind and gentle Keith Urban was. Glenn Campbell will forever have a place in my heart as the absolute best....I'm impressed with Keith, too. What a duo!
The kindness and softness of Keith Urban bringing his voice into the song shows his respect for Glen Campbell. LOVE both!!!!!
The best moment of Keith Urban's life was having Glen sing and play this with him. Ask him, I'm sure he will agree.🙂
There isn't a better way to honor such a great musician than to show him some respect on stage, and this clip shows Glen being his own great self but needing a little help, and shows Keith as the truly generous, truly good man he is. As someone else wrote here, my respect for Mr. Urban has gone up 1000%. RIP Mr. Campbell.
One of the greatest vocalists and guitarists I'll ever see. Mr Campbell is missed.
Mr Urban is a true gentleman.
What an incredible treasure this video is. Keith is so very humble and has no problem giving the spotlight to Glen. Watch Keith's eyes which are pretty much hidden by the microphone. He intently watches Glen hand to make sure he accompanies Glen wherever Glen is. Thank you, Keith, for sharing this!
Beautiful/simply Beautiful!!
YES!! Love this video - watched the Glen Campbell show with my Grandma.
Timeless Classic!!
Glen Campbell is a mammoth legend and a an absolute guitar virtuoso.
So Awesome to Watch ❤️
Love this, Keith was right there to back him up.tear jerker, but keith always à class act❤❤❤
Just popped up on UA-cam. Wish I was at this concert. Keith you are a legend. Glenn you will be missed and remembered forever.
What a great great performance..thanks Keith
How I miss Glen Campbell. Thanks for posting this tear-jerker of a clip...two guitar gods.
I worked on the road with a 4 piece band in the 70's. During our breaks I would go to my room and watch parts of the Glenn Campbell show !!! This was in the Monte Carlo room in the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Great memories!!
So touching 😢I welled up fast!! Thnks for timeless treasures!!
Love them both so much
The smile on Keith’s face when Glenn starts singing and when he starts his solo! 🌙💫⭐️ #betterdaysahead
If fellow muscians say if there was one person blessed with too much talent it was Glenn
I need you more than want you, and I want you for all time!
One of the greatest lyrical lines ever written!!
You as right about about that lyric, that is one of the greatest lines ever, you have to sit back and wonder what he was going thru in his life when he wrote that line ,
It's all in the song.. Castwritten for Glen by Jimmy Webb..
Two of the best guitar players of all time-and you can tell Keith was thrilled beyond measure to be in the presence of the great Glen Campbell.
This is the kind of performance that is so priceless to find. Two insanely talented musicians who play from the soul...you can feel it in your heart not matter who you are. It connects on many levels.
Glen Campbell my all time favorite- thank you Keith Urban for your love and tenderness. You are my now favorite love you!
My father loved Glen, and this song!
He also played guitar and we always watched The Glen Campbell Show.
He always said what a great guitarist he was.
Hopefully he met his idol in heaven!
Who are the 475 idiots that gave this amazing performance a thumbs down? :(
This is one of coolest moments between musical artists I have ever seen! 💕
I have been to 4 Keith Urban concerts and I remember him telling the story of meeting a famous musician who told him to keep practicing if he wanted to be in the music industry. What a wonderful surprise to find that it was Glen Campbell! Mr Campbell was a favorite while I was growing up.
Grreatglenkeith
This can only be described as absolutely beautiful, the respect Keith pays to a true legend brings tears to my eyes.
Few artist will ever match Glen Campbells wealth of talent, body of work, great human spirit. Thanks for sharing this nice moment.
Keith is such an amazing musician...you can tell he just loved playing this song with Glen as he sang it. I have yet to see this man try to steal the stage away from anyone, let alone someone who has been around and knows the ropes. I love how he shows that he respects his peers and those who were before him. Glenn Campbell is a country music icon and deserves that respect. So grateful I could see this and practically experience Keith's joy of playing this song with Glenn! : ) Thank you : )
Hello dear, how are you doing, how is the weather over there?
Fabulous work Keith. Supporting Glen as well deserved. Does you both enormous credit ❤❤❤❤
Words did not need to be spoken in this video, it's a feeling of mutual respect for fellow musicians playing music together, pure and simple. Just enjoy the moment in time people . :)
I doesn't matter what key they started with or any of the technical 'stuff'..I will leave it up to the ones that CAN NOT see the beauty of this video and the moment in time. Keith Urban showed empathy and pride in sharing the stage with the AMAZING Glenn Campbell!!!!
This is how you know a professional.
They played through and had fun with the technical difficulties.
They did great, but the difficulties weren't "technical" ... Keith just messed up the chords at the end.
Jofinsky Your messed up Keith didn't mess up. Keith adores Glenn.
That is respect for a great man
Mr Keith Urban did not play it wrong he played with Mr Glen Campbell so who ever thought he didn't play it correct get a life
Thank you, Keith Urban, for being a wonderful being.
A sad day for all Guitar lovers. We lost a Guitar Legend today, for sure. My sincere condolences to the Campbell Family.
Keith's humanity & humility on full display as he plays with the legend Mr. Glen Campbell.
What a SPECIAL moment for Keith Urban. The Wichita Lineman was clearly struggling, and Keith managed to keep him intact, and allow him the joy of continuing to perform in spite of his advancing illness. Glen's The Man, and Keith ROCKS. Thanks, Keith!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
tintinesk5 Baloney !!! You don't know what you are talking about.
Bullshit. When Glenn couldn't even remember his own name or who his children were he could remember every note. It is well documented. Urban is fine for what he is but not anywhere close to this legendary master.
Keith Urban has really gained my respect for honoring Glen Cambell
@@trumpsucksbiggly9479 And Demi'ssuck asswipe
@tintinesk you are correct
Glen Campbell is a bloody legend. I grew up listening to him.
There’s something so special about this song! It has been one of my all time favorite songs since childhood!
Keith Urban is a class act and Glen Campbell was an amazing musician. Great video.
I was lucky enough to be there that night to see a true legend along with a younger legend and what a night it was!
I lost my Dad in 2010, and when I listen to this song I feel like his listening with me. When I was little Dad took me to Cleveland music to get a keyboard, and Wichita Lineman was playing in the shop. Of course I went right to the electric guitars because they looked cool. Dad said you need an acoustic to play this song, and anyways we are here to get a keyboard. Dad I love you so much.
I used to listen to Glen Campbell with my father driving with him his little girl through teenager in his '64 Volkswagen bug. He loved Glen Campbell and so do I. I lost him 4 years ago and this song comes on. I feel like I was sitting right next to him in the bug. Thank you Glen Campbell and thank you Dad for everything. I miss you both❤
Watching this video gave me more reason to love Keith Urban even more than I already did. Keith is a very talented musician. His guitar playing is awesome however, if any of you take the time to search UA-cam and look at footage of years gone by you'll see what an accomplished guitar player Glen Campbell really was! He's second to none. His picking and timing were amazing. His phrasing was so perfect. After the death of Glen Campbell, I decided to dig deeper and view his playing on UA-cam. I too, play guitar and wanted to see Glen's talents...he's was a master and I do mean master of his craft. There will ever be another Glen Campbell...kudos to Keith for taking the time to share the stage with one of his mentors and give America another chance to witness the great Glen Campbell before he could no longer play. He will be sorely missed.
I'm not even a big Country fan, but I tear up every time I watch this.
Keith Urban is an amazing talent and a wonderful human being...❤
This is what respect is. This is what honour is. Well done, Keith Urban. And Glen, we sure do miss you.
My very favorite song by Glen Campbell. I am so happy that Keith sang and played with him and even happier that it was recorded for our memories!
Mine too!!!
RIP GLENN
Yes great song
RIP GLEN
Why can't people sit back and enjoy the music instead of comparing one against the other. This was Keith's show and he invited Glen to be on his show because he admires Glen so much. They are good friends and I thought Keith handled him with kid gloves knowing he had Alzheimer's. Keith is just a sweetheart !!
I agree . Keith and Glen did an awesome duet. You can tell Keith h ha s the utmist respect for Glen.
This was in 2009 - two years before Glen Campbell was officially diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.
R.I.P., Glen Travis Campbell. :'(
D Goley
Because they are insecure and jealous.
Who is comparing ? I'm confused.
@@ChihuahuaboyDH He may not have been diagnosed but he is showing signs of dementia: a little confusion, forgetfulness in his life in general. It must have been noticed at the time. My mom had the same thing, she was obviously showing signs before she was officially diagnosed. I am sure that Keith Urban had been aware of Glen's fading concentration. People would have prepared him for it and he is obviously treating Glen with kindness and guidance and patience.
Keith was so gracious. I love Glen Campbell!
Glen Campbell is one of the most talented entertainers of all time, period.
I absolutely 💯 agree 👍
Glen , Just want you to know how much you are loved by your fans and how much your music means to us. I grew up listening to you with my mom and dad. God bless you.
What a legendary star,a beautiful voice and boy, what a guitarist, may he rest in peace evermore 💚
RIP Glenn Campbell, you did good. xx Fly high.
Hello dear, how are you doing, how is the weather over there?
Glen’s vocals were even more impressive than his guitar skills. This is way past his prime, but his purity can still be recognized. Keith always a class act.
I disagree, his guitar skills were up there with the very best, ever.
Glen could shred with the best of them. Insanely talented guitar player
@@cnoonan321
His guitar skills were just as impressive as his voice. As his career as a studio musician attests.
prime don't matter Glen Campbell is one of the all time greats.
Thank You, Keith! You took care of our wonderful Glenn and gave us a gift that will last forever.
Dang it's not fair Glen Campbell is gone and not with us anymore...YET, we're so grateful and bless that he came along when he did and share his talent with us. They'll never be another Glen Campbell...RIP sir, you are so missed and will be forever so..
Indeed pallen. indeed.
Keith lives the music and is showing homage to an icon! Respect at it most humble.
This was so beautiful, Keith Urban a great musician in his own right, showing Glen this respect just shows what a kind person he is. Respect forever Keith. Glen, love you much, your music lives forever! I pray your doing alright today!
Dear,Glen you did everything God asked you to do with your time here on earth , and a little bit more " Thank you , huge amount of joy " you left for us to enjoy , One of the best line in a song " a load of comprising on the road to my horizon " touches my core " rest in peace my friend " Brian Margolis falls church
I love the interaction between these two! They were really enjoying working off of each other. Look at them smiling and the nuances of each of them throughout this piece. When Keith pulled that fast, fancy little slide move near the beginning, Glen was startled and pulled back, like whoa! Lol! Then later Keith threw his head back in enjoyment and Glen laughed and when Glen did his solo, Keith gave him a raised eyebrow of " Well! You did that well Sir"! Then toward the end when Keith was really into it, you could see from the side Glen's full cheeks and his eyes crinkling, showing he was smiling. The cutest was how Keith did that long final strum leaning toward Glen. Great body language here! I LOVE this video and watch it all the time- it makes me smile! Also...Glen was always impeccably dressed! Pressed shirts and pants with creases.
Btw, I think when Glen has accompanying guitar players, I have noticed that he frequently will stop playing while hitting a high note singing but will start playing again and later will kick in wonderfully on his solo, so I am not sure this intermittent stopping of playing can be attributed to his health.
I appreciate him more now than when I was younger. So sad to see him go...but just only want to watch him playing and remembering him at his best. I still like the simplicity and pureness of his original versions of his hits the most though-- with that touch of country yet sophisticated strings in the background and the bass guitar plucking which was popular during the 60's. He seems to have affected many people very profoundly in many ways.💞💞
Class act till the end and how cool was Kieth Urban you can clearly see the admiration he has for Glen such a great clip
Glen being a session player for Frank Sinatra and many of the Huge stars of yesteryear before his singing carreer began.. How we miss this gentlemen of guitar.. who no longer can even talk, but Glen you left Keith and all of us fans with the sweetest memories of pure country music.. god bless you
Can't talk any more? He's deteriorated that far already? Wow....that's a real shame....he was a guitar guru, helluva songwriter and singer, and Alzheimer's can kiss my ass for takin' Mr. Campbell from all of us....
Branon Fontaine FYI, many of his top hits were written by others.
Yes, sadly, according to Wikipedia: "In April 2014, news reports indicated the 78-year-old Campbell had become a patient at an Alzheimer's long-term care and treatment facility. On March 10, 2015, NBC News reported that Campbell could no longer speak for himself and that two of his children had sought legal action against Campbell's wife Kim, with the assertion that she had "secluded" the singer and prevented them from "participating" in the 78-year-old's medical care."
***** There is no indication of that. They just want to "participate" in his medical care. By that, I think that she might be preventing them from seeing him and/or having knowledge of what is going on with their own father. I guess there will be a news story on this soon. Hopefully Glen had a will, written well before he got Alzheimers, that included all his kids, not just his current wife.
***** What's the name of the video and where do they say they are after his money? I saw a story of Debbie giving an interview about Glen on Inside Edition.
***** Thanks for that update. It's sad enough on the entire family to watch Glen go through this. Why make it even worse to exclude them? I don't understand why Kim would do such a thing. I did see a video where Debbie wanted to transfer him to Arkansas (I think), and put him in a house with full time caregiver, so he could be closer to the majority of his kids, which I think was very selfish. He is in Nashville, where Kim is with her kids. They need to just bite the bullet and visit him in Nashville, or move there. That was three or four months ago though, and Glen has now been moved to Hospice.
Talk about out a couple of guys having a good time. Glen has certainly been one of the people that has brought me a little happyness in my life. thanks Glen and Keith.
R.I.P Glen Campbell, early back Keith used to talk how he had one vinyl album and would play Glen over and over in family garage.
Respect Keith
Totally ❤️
I saw a Glen video where he said he met a very young Keith at a concert way back in mid 70's & Keith told Glen he wanted to play guitar just like him
@@tram84mvp 🎸🎸❤
So much respect and admiration for Keith and his Beautiful wife Nicole
Absolutely the most amazing Talented Couple.
WOW. LOVE.
My Dad, and so am I by default, is a HUGE Merle Haggard fan...the greatest concert he said he's ever attended was a Haggard show at the now gone Circle Star Arena in San Carlos, Calif. What made this concert the best was Glen Campbell, who wasn't scheduled to perform but was in San Francisco, but he opened for and performed with Hag for over two hours....that must've been just incredible....
Who cares.. It is heart breaking to hear the last of Glen Campbell's performances. A true master and one that can never be replaced..Love you Glen!
Literally a dream come true for Keith, as Glen’s story shows! It’s great to see how much fun they’re having.
The look on Keith's face is priceless. That, my friends, is pure and utter joy!! RIP, Glen!!
God bless you, Keith, for recognizing the spark in this man, Glen Campbell.
Hello dear, how are you doing, how is the weather over there?
I cant stop crying watching this. I love this video. Glen Campbell will always be imo the best musician, and Keith Urban is such a class act.
Hello dear, how are you doing, how is the weather over there?
What a class act Keith Urban is. Great song. Glen Campbell was a legend. What a great pairing.
This is an older performance I know but still, thanks for the great memories Glenn as you will be missed by many. I wasn't really a Keith Urban fan before as I had little exposure to his music but I sure am now! Kudos to you Keith for having Glenn perform with you knowing, I'm sure, about his unfortunate condition and the high possibility for mistakes (which obviously happened). That shows what kind of man you truly are! Respect!!!
you would think the crowd would shut there mouths and stop screaming all the way through this amazing performance
People at Vegas shows tend to be drunk as skunks...
Yes you said it!
Their not there...you’re welcome 🤠
Agreed, and there are the one's who stand up the entire concert.
and why I gave up on going to concerts 20 years ago. Seriously
Keith Urban... Respect you! To honour the Great man Glen Cambell, as you did, dang you! I cried.😂. thank you mate, from across the ditch.
Full credit to keith for showing respect to an elder statesmen who paved the way for artists like him,it's apparent all is not well with Glen but Keith looked after him and Glen came through.
Keith showed his deepest admiration for one of his mentors. Wow.
This video never fails to bring tears to my eyes. Were there flaws in it? I didn't see any. I just remember how much my dad loved Glen Campbell & to see my favorite singer perform with him just means so much. It's like reconnecting with my dad who has been gone for over 13 years now.
Hi Sarah how are you doing, Happy new year
Flaws? I’m not sure, but a think Glen started soloing in the wrong key to which Keith brilliantly followed him and then somehow brought the song back to the original key for the vocal.
Also, you can see Glen fiddle (Nyuk, Nyuk) with his capo and moving it to different frets several times because he’s confused. It was really the best when Glen just sang and Keith played that incredible guitar just like he learned from people like…Glen Campbell.
Glen Campbell is one of the greats that I wished I could have had the chance to see. What a legend!
Sorry you didn't.....I got lucky and saw on of his last concerts, with his kids playing with him.
He was incredible ❤️
Thank you for sharing. Glen Campbell is missed.
If you ever needed proof that music communicates and another level....this is it. Watch this guy honouring a hero and allowing us to share the moment. THANK YOU.
At one point Keith must have had goose bumps
Indeed, the world has lost a National Treasure.
THANK YOU for chosing to share your incredible talent with all of us!!
I am so glad for this video. The pride and admiration, the humble talent, a moment in time that we can admire forever. What a blessing & gift, both of you are to all of us. RIP Glen ...We love you Keith for moments like this, & so much more. Always XO D
I have listened to this sooooo....many times. You were so kind and understanding Keith. I ❤️ it that he was your role model. Grew up listening to his albums cus my mum loves him. She had a stroke but I play Glen on you tube and her speech is still great only when she sings. Bless her. So thanks Keith
Magic just happened!! Rest Peacefully Mr. Campbell !! I surely do miss you!! Thanks to Keith Urban for sharing and capturing such a special moment with a special talent!!! You are awesome!
You will be missed Glen Campbell, We will always remember you.
I watch this video a lot. It is the passing of the torch. Who could take Glen Campbell's place.? No one, until I saw this video. There are many of us that face what Mr. Campbell faced...... but people like Keith Urban.....well, they are just angels. Thank you.
God bless Glenn for all the beautiful music he brought to world. May he rest in heavenly peace. We loved you then and we love love you still.
what an incredible memory for that audience. two of the best singing together.
WOW incredible !! ( Glen what an amazing solo on that guitar) you could tell how much keith really enjoyed that. A lot of people don't realize what an amazing guitar player glen really is.......
Glenn performed with the Beach Boys back in the day.
Glenn Campbell was part of the Wrecking Crew in California in the '60's. He played on many artists and bands albums. Brilliant musician!
My son also a musiCIAn...introduced me to the music of Keith Urban...before he really really became famoUS...wow...love this dUEt...Nobody does IT better...RIP Glenn Campbell thanks for the musIC!
As a guitar player... What I see is Glen Struggle with the capo with the key, with the chord progression.. BUT he kept searching ... and when he found his time to slid into the lead run.... HE was spot on... This is a true musician.. a great man , and a person so many should always thank for the gifts he gave. He is and always be one of my inspirations!
+Vernon Allen Right you are as I kept thinking just take the capo off and when he did and started his lead it was simply amazing as all of Glen's playing has been! Glen Campbell's guitar playing is the BEST ALWAYS!!!! My MOM passed away from ALZEIMER"S this summer so I feel so much for he and his family!
+Vernon Allen Just to set the record straight on this... They are playing this in the key of F, which is the original key that Campbell always plays it in. Why he couldn't figure out where to put the capo is a mystery. Maybe that guitar he's using was set on an alternate tuning and just handed to him as he walked out.
+Lori Hill You watched a different video than I did apparently. Keith did not start in the wrong key, he accidentally modulated to a higher key going back to a verse rather than the chorus, and immediately accommodated Glen. Get your eyes and ears checked.
+Lori Hill LOL! Where "higher key" is the key of F... the same key as the studio version and the same key that Campbell has played this song in his whole life. He's using a capo, but that has nothing to do with it. It's still in the key of F.
+cowsongs . I agree with you. However, having watched the progression of Mr. Campbells disease through his documentary "I'll Be Me", and other video's on UA-cam over the past 15 year, this moment onstage is a clear indication of the beginning of Glen's disease - now appearing during an onstage performance that wasn't well rehearsed. Normally, they wouldn't need to rehearse it much, but obviously things were not right with Glen at the time. And as awkward as it was to the musician's watching, and maybe some of the audience, Keith and Glen still had a magic moment, and isn't that what counts? Best wishes, Keywiz.
The Apprentice in awe of the Master! And Keith will be the Master one day!
Forever a fan of both Glen and Keith!
To be called "the best in the world" from one of the finest ever in the world had to be one of the greatest & humbling moments in Keith Urbans life. This vid shows respect & love, a superb clip!
Just look at the joy on Keith's face, like a kid meeting his hero. GREAT Video!!
Glen brought it home on the solo on 3.42! You could tell he was having some difficulty due to his Early stage of impairment with his dementia. I think it was due to him not being familiar with guitar and he was adjusting the tuning a bit. If you watch he also wasn't aware of what key the song was initially. He struggled with that in his last tour. It was always touching in his shows his Daughter or son would remind him what key it is in and Bingo Glen Campbell the Guitar God Virtuoso switch turns on . I always thought it was so brave for him to keep on doing his thing his voice his pitch and playing were amazing. He never embarrassed himself or tarnished his gift on his goodbye tour. I saw his 2nd to last show in Seattle Nov of 2012 at the Paramount.
For Glen Campbell to tell Keith Urban's audience that he's the best in the world, is the ultimate compliment!
Where Glen solos the Magical melody of Wichita Lineman on guitar, it absolutely breaks my heart, and I burst into tears.
He remained an outstanding musician in this moment, regardless of the stage that he was at in his life.
It is hard not this song just gets to ya.
This video brought tears to my eyes. Seeing the tender and respectful way Keith Urban treated Glen Campbell, his elder, a musical genius who happened to be in the throes of Alzheimer’s disease yet could still play music, is something truly remarkable and poignant.
