This is the best instructional video on the TG on UA-cam. Brother Mike, you never fail to deliver for us. Happy to see you demo it on the G5, which I consider the "poor man's" Fit model😉
Your timing is PERFECT! I just picked up a sliding bench trainer and after a quick workout I am totally hooked. This video (among your immense list of great videos) = exactly what I need right now. Thank you for everything!
You are awesome and inspiring! You do so many things with the total gym it opened my eyes! I had a really great work out following your moves. As a high school gymnast, I did the rings and total gym allows me to mimic some of those intense movements and workouts! You amaze me with your creativity and I’m enjoying my equipment now. Your videos really helped me to get back in the game. I’m older, have some injuries but I don’t have to use the highest levels but I see how you assist with your legs and take precautions to avoid harm. Thank you!
Great list, thanks for taking the time to put this together. I have a goal to lose 20 lbs and with these workouts and a solid nutrition plan, I believe I can do it!
I have fairly severe arthritis of the knees and hips. I can't do lunges or squats but I can do the equivalent on my TG with quite a bit of added resistance
You know that's one leg exercise movement I neglected to include were the various lunges you can do. I know some people like them, I just tend to not do them as much.
You have access to a full range cable chest press (that’s a good thing) and you spend time doing partial range “bench presses” and…pushups(?) on this machine? Funny. For real though, great, essential video.
Awesome video! Thanks for making it! I combine the total gym with free weights and DDP Yoga. Thinking about getting something like the X3 or the Harambe. Which do you think is better?
Thanks Jorge. I haven't personally tried the Harmbe system (but intend to in the future), however I have reviewed their footplate in a video. As of now I'm partial to X3 because I personally really like the bar and their footplate. But a lot of people do like Harambe as well. Let me know if you have more specific questions on this. Shameless plug..I do have a discount code with Harambe for 10% off using "SLIDINGBENCHTRAINER" as a promo code. Also if you do decide on X3, you can use "SAVE50" to save $50. Greatly supports me as well if you order from this link www.jdoqocy.com/click-100825257-13511487
Great catalog! Question: Is there a way to configure the Total Gym where you can have a two-handed positive, then a one-handed negative? To get eccentric overload. Maybe join the two pulleys at the top and then have two grips coming from the junction?
Thanks for the question PB? I might not be understanding you correctly, but do you mean for instance just using a SBT with resistance bands attached to the glideboard?
@@hybridresistance Sorry for the confusion. I meant joining the cables at the top with a swivel or a carabiner, and then have two grips coming out of that one swivel or carabiner. So both arms can use grips to pull you up the sliding bench, and then you can let go with one arm and lower yourself with one arm (eccentric overload).
@@ParkerBinion That should be easily done. I believe Mike has joined two handles together on some of his videos I've seen, unless I was mistaken in what I thought I saw.
There's really no one answer to that as it really depends on your goal, ability, time, and just general interest. Here's my "super simple" program design ua-cam.com/video/m5w4Gq0iIkE/v-deo.html but also have a programs playlist here with much more ua-cam.com/play/PLUiiIHn087rHuybOpqq2XASCie3tuGXFP.html . Not to overwhelm you, I actually will be making another one (hopefully a more simple program) coming out over the weekend.
I appreciate that, trying to that sweet spot is very hard. I got many people telling me I need to go into more detail so I’m always trying to balance the proper amount of instruction and trying to get to the point at the same time
I totally understand, but sometimes you just want to get to it and do it and the comentary is great along the way.... just a suggestion not a criticism 🙂@@hybridresistance
This is the only thing i never got about total gym why the hell they never put wheels on the side where the squad plate goes so you can roll the freaking thing.😂 It would help when moving it around and unfolding and folding and would stop making marks on the floor when using hard wood floors. You can also have it where when you sit on it your weight would fold the wheels up so it will not roll using the total gym i don't see this being a very hard feature to put on any of the units. Just my two cents 😂
@@hybridresistance only one they have that design on with wheels is the commercial version of the total gym but maybe just can't get it at that price point they have to the work with is the only reason I can think of. Just odd on a commercial total gym moving it around would be a lot less then a home owner product where they would be moving it more often.
The best workout I've had in 30 years I will be watching. Please keep in mind I'm over 65 years old 🎉thank you
Great to hear! Thanks for the comment and for watching. Love the username.

the bicep curl at 6 on Elite Pro - wow!! I'm at 214 for weight. So I guess that's harder than pushups for sure! awesome.
Thanks again for watching !

What the proper form for face pull on a total gym

Thanks so much for your reply and discount codes! For being so nice I sent you a tip. Take care!
How do you stop the wheel caps from rolling off from moving the Total Gym up and down?
I hear you. I ended up on some models just leaving them off.

Where did you get the ankle straps?? And replacment rollers

Love all of your videos, but sometimes too much talking. Less talk and more action would be great. Otherwise, fantastic

This is very true, I'm sure there's some reason for it.

Immense thank you John. Means a lot.
Thanks!
Extremely generous Jorge. Thank you and God bless you brother.
You are welcome! I forgot to ask. How much do the discount codes last?
@@jorgemartinez-fy2pt The codes should last for sometime unless they change them on me, but I don't see that happening anytime soon.
Appreciate the reply! Hope you have a great rest of your day!
