What's ridiculous are the Canadian law schools who renamed their degrees JDs after determining that stupid American employers would not recognize an LLB (Bachelor of Laws in most common law jurisdictions). They even let you trade in your LLB diploma for a JD. Ugh. Sellouts.
A law degree is not a doctoral level degree. It's not even a thesis-based graduate level degree. It's a professional degree. If you pass all your classes and graduation requirements, you get a degree. The hardest part of law school is getting in (and putting up with the other ar$eholes for three years. Seriously, that is hard).
In Canada, there are Master of Laws (LLM) and Doctor of Laws (LLD) programs. Some call the latter PhDs. To teach at most law schools, you need at least an LLM. It's not hard to get a job as a sessional instructor. They pay poorly, give you no support and no benefits.
None of that to take away from any of Obama's achievements. He is everything Drumparse isn't: intelligent, articulate and, probably, an inspiring teacher. US Constitutional Law is a fascinating subject. I still remember my prof more than 20 years later.

The commencement ceremony for my college had George Steinbrenner as the featured speaker. What a jerk. He boasted of earning a "gentleman's C" while he focused on sports at an Ivy league school.
He was addressing a hall full of people who worked full time, raised families and managed to take evening and weekend classes. Some, like me, took 12 years to earn a 2 year degree. He didn't pay his own way; his daddy bought his degree. I imagine it was the same for tRump.:)
