Just face it, Democrats have no clue what's going on. Rather than admitting their failure to win elections they chose to take a way that shows that someone else is responsible for their loss of election. In pursuing this pointless investigation they have now robbed themselves of any credibility and given away the opportunity they had of using all the other valid reasons of Trump not being president. Now they have a horde of candidates all wanting to be president. They are the most inept and divisive bunch of people I have ever seen and that's saying something with GOP on the other end.

It seems like everyone who would vote for Trump at this point are the people who would vote for him come hell or high water - as far as I can make out, the stupid in-fighting that the Dem base is prone to (go on any Colbert video which even mentions Bernie Sanders and you'll see his "Bernie or Bust" followers in the comments practically spitting fire over Colbert joking about him the exact same way he jokes about everyone else on the political playing field) is the only thing that's guaranteeing Trump 4 more years. As Stephen indicated with this monologue, Trump's approval ratings and people's opinions of him aren't suddenly going to do a 180 just because of the Mueller outcome, and I can't see how jokes like these will push anyone into Trump's pocket who wasn't dangerously close to falling in anyway.
And if we're talking about free airtime, while it arguably contributed in 2016 (and many late night hosts have expressed various degrees of recognition and regret of that, including Stephen IIRC), it's different now for the simple fact that now everyone knows what 4 years of Trump in the WH looks like - something which, back in 2016, just looked like the bad punchline of a stupid joke.

What makes you think that Mueller will just tweet something that went over the head of his boss, the AG? This guy is by the book, he'll talk about his work if he is required to do so in front of Congress. Until then, the Mueller report speaks for him - and it should be available in its entirety. That includes trucks of backup material. Just like the Starr Report.

The report might remain classified if it contains info from one of the other probes, or if they're waiting to indict him when he leaves office, when they can subpoena his testimony before a grand jury to prove or disprove intent to obstruct justice
