Hel ONI even made false colonies to force the covenant into traps or delay tactics. Infinity was going to be a last resort of escape and revenge before the war ended. With the technology of the covenant. It should have been half that time.
If i remember correctly, we kinda dominated the war on the ground, specially when ODSTs and Spartans were involved but they Covenant had orbital superiority. What brings you a victory on the surface, when your enemy has the ability to glass each and every planet you fight on.

Always gave me a slight shiver, when reading it in the books. You got your clumsy grey box of a ship that can whitsatnd nukes and MAC rounds, but is basically a snowball in hell, when hit by the covies.
I love how even just the Spartans walking shakes the camera and the ground around them, really captures the feeling of them being the absolute units they are

A shift to blender low-key might not be the solution for what he is doing rn, I can't imagine trying to get all of these rigs and environments into blender, while learning the software would be good for his sanity.
@@thelemoneater I've used Blender for a few years, but I never transitioned animation wise from SFM to Blender - SFM (whilst outdated) has a massive asset pool available if you know where to look.

I love how each of these shows something that the games never quite did (aside from Reach) - Humanity may have been losing, but they made the Covenant pay for every inch of soil on every planet lost. Their weapons weren't ineffective like the games always make it seem, some like the shotgun even have lore stating that it was effective at taking down shields - Which it was, at least for a few of the games it could do it in 1 shot. I'd love to see a follow up on this series depicting either a squad of Marines or ODST in a separate location during these events.

Insanely good, as usual. Easily my favourite detail throughout every WIP so far is the weight the Spartans have while moving. The sound, camera shake, etc, all just add to the impression of how much larger and tougher they are than any other infantry units.

I love how you've captured the marines reactions to having Spartan reinforcements arrive. Imagine you're a marine, battle-weary, sleep deprived and you've probably lost a lot of good friends to the covenant. You've probably given up hope at this point. But you heard so many stories about Spartans showing up to save the day to the point where they've become legend. To finally see not just one, but a whole squad of them?! You'd probably weep tears of joy. The chances of survival are still low for you, but you've forgotten all about that. The Spartans are here.

There is one thing I hate about these WIPs, those damn cliffhangers man, it always gets better then cuts off. Jokes aside, SODAZ's work in animation and story telling has been spot on, never missing.

You really have the movement down for all of the Covenant species! Lumbering brutes up front, the sangheli officer strutting like a big cat or some sort of predator, the skirmishers tip toeing off with beam rifles, and the grunts toddler-running! Great visual storytelling for their different behaviors, fighting styles etc. I love the attention to detail!
This is incredible once again. I’d love to see individual weapons used by both Spartans and other UNSC forces be individually unique to varying degrees - ie. Optics, lights, laser setups etc. I’d love to see some personalization, as it would be very immersive to me.

Absolutely incredible! This felt like the opening cutscene of Tip of the Spear, but where we actually get to see more the battle instead of driving off a bridge away from it all. I like the more prepared defenses the UNSC has in this scene. Felt that was often lacking in the games. The way each spartan armor was customized, rewatching the scene where they post up the marksman you can see he has 2 shoulder pieces, both a recon plate and the sniper bullet rack, if there’s one thing bungie and 343 missed out on with the collab make of reach. Is just how far we could customize each individual piece of our Spartans armor. Every add on of every section of mjolnir plating

Reach and Halo 3 are both tied for my favorite Bungie era artstyles. They're both so recognizable and they look so good.
It may have been a losing war but I like how the writers portraited humanity by make the covenant pay for every step of ground they took.
Oh yeah. Literally. Wiped out something like 23-40 billion? Nearly every square inch of ground was slathered in covenant blood.

Great adaptation, especially of anti-vehicle(would be behind first infantry line though), AA and air support units that canon mostly criminally ignores.
