thanks for making me realize to pre drill all before assembly

Your desk came out fantastic! Very happy you made this and I was lucky enough to come across it. Just what I needed. Thanks so much for spending some extra time helping others be able to save thousands on a desk and actually get the work surfaces we are looking for. Nothing works like custom built for you, and those cost a small fortune to have someone else build for you.

This build is great. Although to make your life easier you can use wood screws which have a non threaded section under the screw head which claps the 2 pieces t together

Very informative, might have a go at a custom embedded keybed desk at some point. I would recommend torx screws by the way, philips are more difficult to work with as the drillhead keeps slipping off of them.

Now that you had it the hard way, I'll mark and pre-drill all the screw points beforehand.

awesome build. Do you have the paperwork drawn out or this?

I really liked the design, until I realized that if you used a large display that there would be no integrated space for audio monitors (taken up by the rack areas). I think I’d like to borrow part of that design with a shelf above for display/audio monitors

Good point... I use two side-by-side displays also. So no room for audio monitors. Even with the shelf as you suggest, the shelves would cover up the site line to the rack gear. Not sure how I'd do this...

Nice design! You need to be a bit more careful with your drilling - the way you drilled the ends @6.30 is a nice way to drill into your hand. One of the golden rules of woodwork is not to have anything (especially hands) in front of a sharp tool!

Were you happy with the width measurement of 490mm/49cm seams a bit too wide as most of my reach gear is 482mm 48.2cm ?

nice build, but I miss a good space to put on my monitor, so for me iets not perfect.
