I avoided Star Saber for that very reason, with this fix available, I might have to pick him up. Very cool video, I enjoyed this quite a bit. Well done man!

I'll be picking up a SS soon and I noticed there's a KFC set which has a thousand new pieces. This, while fiddly looks waaaaay easier. Great video.

Nice review brother!!! I have no desire for that Megatron one way or the other and I never bought Starsaber because of the problems. Maybe now I'll get one with the kit.

It's nice to see things finally coming together for CGI, I know they've been through a lot of troubles. I had a weapons set for CW Bruticus by them on pre-order for seven months, had to cancel it after that long, circumstances be damned.
VRHyoumaru they are great people. I speak to them about once a week
the star saber joints are awesome, but part of my problem is his hip ratchets.
i like the upgrades, i didnt care much for the original joints

Good deal on the Victory Saber fixes. Could care less about pooptron. I was gonna skip on Simba due to the fails of Star Saber but hope is restored.

The DX9 Megatron needs more then that for me personally. The lower legs are still too skinny. As far as Star Saber, well, I always thought he looked cool, but he doesn't look like "Transformers" to me. He looks too Gundam. So I wasn't interested. Then when I thought maybe I should get him anyway, people were complaining about his "looseness" and I saw how loose he was in your video for Simba, and that turned me off. MAYBE now I could think about getting him again, just because of this upgrade AND Simba. We'll see.

After MP Primal came out, Star Saber became my 2nd favorite official MP. Character wise he is one of the best MPs we had but engineering, they were still a bit meh because of the knees and elbows.
I actually just floor polished the elbows and made a DIY knee fix using cardboard. After that he could hold Simba and the added accessories fairly well.
Btw why don't I ever see you flip that thrusts on Star Saber's chest around? It's always the red one when that is a panel that flips around into the one for Star Saber mode. I'm just wondering. Is it just preference to the old G1 toy that only had the red panel?

I'm tempted to get the Mightron legs since I really like my Mightron, but at $25 I really would have also liked some small parts to fill in the hollow chest bits. I guess beggars can't be choosers though. Good review, now I am also tempted to maybe get Star Saber

Thanks for the review as always Bobby. Just a couple things to clear up:
Shintrons are made from slightly flexible colored resin so they will not break or crack.
We understand lots of overseas customers want them too but the shipping calculator or customs charges kills the deal for some of you, email us at drkillinger@gcitoys.com and we can ship other ways and work on the customs charges.

I don't understand why the Star Saber upgrades took so long, the Elbows have been a problem since day 1, anyways, they look great I'll probably have to pick them up sometime.

I don't know, I considered getting them, either way you'd have to use the extended handle which I really don't like because it can't store anywhere in Vehicle mode.

I'll go in on the first one that has a Black repaint, Most of my MP's are either repaints or weird characters like Star Saber

To be fair the parts for MP05 were 3rd party add ons, I think the reason the 2 3rd party versions don't have the stock and silencer is most people don't really care about that since in Robot mode they're kind of useless, and the canon you make with them takes alot of room, for me, if i get MP36 they will probably stay in the box or in storage, although i do kind of want to buy that kit for MP05, on his own the gun mode is giant, with the silencer and stock it'd be a friggin rifle lol
Toolala I'm guessing it's mainly to do with simba. Simba makes the knees fail so they really wanted to fix that and once they started they were probably like "well we can go and fix the elbows now too" as for the sword, simba actually comes with an adaptor that allows him to actually hold it properly.
I like GCI's products but I swear the shipping kills it for me. Was interested for their Feral Rex side skirt add on set then after checkout my total w/shipping was like $30’somthing dollars for 2 piece of plastic lol. Happy for the guys business/hobby but not pleased with prices and shipping. Jus my $0.02.

Rich Schmidt yea I know the guy so I'm sure it's a situation where it costs a fair amount to make for him to charge that much but yea 25 is ultimately a bit steep for what it is

Rich Schmidt From what I gather these are 3D printed? If they're anything like myself they wouldn't want to push a product that looks printed, because those print lines can be an eyesore. The print itself might not cost much, however the finishing of it will take time, which will make it cost more. If they had injection moulding facilities then that could push the price down to $5 a set, but then he'd need to sell 10000 units to offset the cost of the tooling..

Plastic Therapy being a highly infrequent visitor of TFW2005 then I stand corrected. With that said it depends on the type of resin in that case. Regular ol' urethane prototyping resins wouldn't really stand up to pegging into something as it's a bit too brittle in my experience..
