I find myself gravitating toward the Japanese timeline as of late. I plan on picking up Simba over the holidays. Love the honesty in your reviews and they constantly confirm "gut" feelings I have about the bots I take notice of. Keep up the great reviews!

Cool song you mentioned. Seems like Keith overall is stepping up his game. I was never a huge StarSaber fan to begin with. But I will admit when it just stands there, it looks good and seems to fit great in the collection. Great job per usual Bobby.

Great review Bobby, the enginuity of this figure is impressive, especially how they made it compatable with the takara star saber. Incredible how they make one figure turn into so many elements! BUT! DAMN its like a computer that can turn into a toaster and then make pasta! I'm glad I never got into this series, I mean Damn OverKill Saber! But still a impressive piece.

Great review, can't wait to get it. My Star Saber had the same problem in the arm, just tightened it little bit and it was so much better.

I love the look of this guy. There is slightly more paint coming in the final version, including metallic highlights on the chest, so it fits it even better with Star Saber. Slightly ironic that the Keith products which are meant to come apart (this for combined mode, junkions) hold together very well whereas the ones which aren't meant to just seem to fall apart (Ollie, Appollyon, Arkose etc).
TFC is doing a Road Caesar, so the Japanese series are coming along nicely, character wise :-D
It seems as if you handed this to a hardcore HasTak faifthful and told them it was MP41, they wouldn't have a reason to not believe you :-P

KFC steppin it up. This is damn impressive for a figure that acts as an Add-on for a figure who was never designed for this sort of equipment. It's like KFC moved from pull-ups into big boy pants. Damn glad too, KFC/XTB has my favorite aesthetic as far as 3rd parties go, but never purchased due to the obvious.
Well, to be fair, he WAS designed for it. That's why he has the ports. Just the wrong company made it.

A few years late, but KFC came out with upgraded ratchet joints for MP Star Saber, so it can hold the weight of Leo better
My Star Saber has weak elbows as well, and my attempt at tightening one of them wound up with a plastic sliver breaking off.
I'm going to wait for the Takara MP mostly out of curiosity to see what they would do different. I'm kind of hoping they could make the Victory Saber boots a little sleeker. I know the original boots were a big mess so it's hard to not replicate that look when being accurate. They may also find a way to deal with the weight problem. (Perhaps an "animation cell accurate cheat mode" where a bunch of parts come off? ;p)

It's almost a crime a great looking bot will be used as a pair of shoes and a jet pack. You might also want to look into Keith's hands for Stat Saber. They come with an adapter that allows him to hold his sword properly.

So assuming KFC fixes the issues before its mass release, is there anything that Takara could do with an official release that could actually make their offering "superior" to this guy? I know that some will reach for the Takara automatically, but is there anything you can think of that is "missing" from Simba?
ahchiu9 hmmmm that's a good question. Maybe adjust for the backpack weight to try and take some pressure off star sabers knees?

Hey Bobby, just asking, but it seems like u are a large fan of tabletop wargames, and such, so do u think it might be a good idea to create a tabletop strategy game for transformers, but using iron factory's legends sized releases instead as playing pieces, as they are of such a minute size, thanks for considering this idea man

Bobby Skullface L I would kinda like that each individual characters have their own abilities, like overlord being a duocon, and being able to split up, and blitzwing being a triple changer, and the dinobots being the calvary, and things as such. And the iron factory weapons packs would be drop crates with munitions and weapons at certain locations. And I would also love to have different classes for the figures too
Maybe you can ask Keith to produce a joint add-on for Starsaber so we can have solid ratchets?

Actually, many companies already did something like that for other figures, so, yeah, that's a pretty good idea, those could be included in the final official release
There could be a way to do a Shapeways upgrade. I don't own the figure sadly so I can't tell though.

Combined mode looks like he transformed and landed on a couple of predacons. The stand alone figure is pretty sweet though.

Well Leo looks fantastic but the way the combined form makes him back heavy worries me a bit, they really need to work on that because if not you need to have him against a wall in order to keep straight.
James Ramirez no you don't need a wall to make him straight you just need the weight to be centered on the right ratchet of star saber
hi, i just got this lovely piece, how ever its a missing piece, is the little one that helps to but Sima in jet mode in his pedastal, it cames with 2 blue pieces, the little one didnt came, anyone here had the same problem? please let me know, thanks

Anyhoo, he's a non-character for me as was star saber so I don't care but its great for those into this period. In this game you're only as good as your last figure, so i take my hat off to kfc. keep up the effort and i hope it pays off for them.

Bobby Skullface I just felt the means to tell you since I notice you didn't flip those red vents (a step some people usually forget in transforming star saber) to reveal grey vent details, also to break up the red and make it less busty. I'm sincerely sorry if I had offended you in some fashion. Hopefully the next time you show off star saber/victory saber you would have done that transformation step.

If the ratchets aren't strong enough, I'm sure the old disassembly + paper washed deal will do the trick. Seems to work on almost every hastak release.

Lockdown have you ever watched victory... There's a reason people really hate star saber 1 he killed Dai atlas 2 killed the chance of victory saber happening and being the hero 3 turning a bloody awesome hero into a villan which is something YOU SHOULD NEVER DO especially if it's just for a single story arc...
So you are saying in your vid that the plastic feels better than the Takara one? That is pretty telling for Takara. I find that when a figure has a shiny type of plastic as this , I find it does not feel as quality as I would like to see. Funny as all it takes is a quick pass over the molds with a sandblaster to give it a more flat look to it. I found when looking at their Junkions they were just too gloss for my liking. Unfortunately this looks too much like a figure from the 90's in the brave line for me to really care too much.
Spencer Wilson it's at least on par quality wise. Maybe it's the joints that feel better than make the whole thing end up feeling better? Not sure I can call it but it feels right
