Great vid! Was an interesting look at your process and can relate to all the people that always say they want to help and drop out one after another all the time
Amazing work! I find it super hard to ever finish a game myself so seeing that done in a fairly short time period (for a game at least) is pretty amazing! I think if you do make a game similar to this one in your next game you talked about, it might help you to make a level editor with unity as it's own thing that then saves to a json file or whatever so you have an easy and very customizable editor to work in. I haven't actually tried this myself but I would think this is a pretty good way of bypassing unity's... questionable features. anyways, amazing looking game! Super excited to see what you work on next, whatever that may be.
Thanks much! You can actually use Tiled as an external editor but I don't recommend it. You need to use third party software to convert the finished map to something Unity can use. The workflow just becomes unmanageable to test little changes.
Yea, I was more thinking of making your own tile map editor and then saving and loading in it through json files. That way you could make the system designed with all the needs of your game. That being said, it all depends on how much work you are willing to put into something like that and how much will you get in return. I don't think making something like that is very easy and if it wouldn't help a tremendous amount, there really isn't a point. Just kind of spit-balling ideas, I'm not sure how much it would improve workflow (if at all) but I would see something like this a bit more helpful if you where say working on a massive game with a lot tiles. Just having a tool where you could draw in all the tiles, drop a spawn point, drop some enemy spawn points, etc. Other than that though, making something like that probably wouldn't be worth the effort.
Is there an OST or any place to listen to the music from the game? I really love the cave tune. I enjoyed the game, but it totally busted my hands from all the pixel perfect platforming lol.
Was brought here by the free to keep weekend. Really enjoyed the video!

It's the worst thing about working with randoms but what can ya do?

Congratulation!
I bought it but I haven't had a chance to actually play it yet - seems like a fun metroidvania!
Thanks! I hope you enjoy it. Leave a steam review after you play it, even if it's negative. We really want to get as much feedback as possible!

I keep asking the musician to zip up the OST so I can throw it on Steam but haven't gotten a response yet
Really interesting take on game design. Sad to hear how unreliable some people ended up being.
