- Hi everyone! So, so many people have asked if I would do a video on Stanley's routine as a newborn baby. We don't have things perfect, and we aren't experts, but this is his routine, including his baby sleep routine, how many formula feeds he has a day, and how we entertain him and things like that. Q: How old are you?
A: I am now 30 years-old! Argh!
Q: Tell us about your family?
A: I have a son called, Bill, and I am no longer with his dad, as we split mutually when he was a baby. I never imagined my life as it is now, with children to different partners, but I am so happy it is my life. I met Mark in the summer of 2013, and we became firm friends. We fell in love when I became single and we’ve never looked back. We have a daughter, called Daisy, born April 2016, and I’m due our third baby - a boy - in March 2018!
Q: What is your job?
A: I am a trained journalist and former business magazine editor, I then moved into content creation at an agency in Manchester (where I met Mark!) and since Daisy was born, I am now a full-time UA-camr. Yes, it sounds weird to me too! I work around the kids and try my best to make it work!
Q: What camera/software/lighting/music do you use to make your videos?
A: I film my videos with the Canon G7X Mark II (I love it!) and I have a Neweer Ring Light. I use iMovie to edit, PicMonkey for thumbnails, and I use Epidemic Sound, BenSound and the UA-cam library for music!

Really enjoyed this video. Glad to get a bit of a refresher in prep for baby 2. We have the sleepyhead too, and usually put a blanket over it also, it’s brilliant.

I'd love to see an updated Stanley routine. He's two months older than my little girl and mine has started dropping her naps or wanting to nap really late which messes up her whole night routine... #mumlife

Stanley is so gorgeous; made me miss those sofa cuddles with Evelina once the big kids were in bed! Though she had colic so mainly cried - haha! So happy you're getting some regular sleep and he looks so content. xxx

Hi Charlotte. Thank you for this great video. Why were you wary of using Sleepyhead? I'm asking as I'm a mum to a 6 day old and he refuses to sleep in his cot so bought Sleepyhead to make it more cosy for him. It now partially works but the comment about Sleepyhead made me a bit nervous. Many thanks xx

Could you please explain how you put him down for a nap ? From the video it looks like you put him down totally awake with a pacifier and he falls asleep on his own without further assistance ? He doesn't even look drowsy in the video... Please help me understand as I have so much trouble with daytime sleep of my baby, thank you
Hi! Our little boy is due in July, he's our second baby. We've just recently bought the sleepyhead which I never used with my first but we do have a motion sensor monitor that I used with our daughter and I just know I won't be able to live without this time either. Can I just ask, do you put the sensor pad under the sleepyhead itself or do you still put it under the mattress of the snuzpod? If that makes sense! I love watching your videos!

Hi Charlotte, Stanley settles so well. Do you think the dummy helps with that? I’m not sure whether to introduce to my 2 week old, she is breast fed. Did you use one with Bill?xx
How on earth does your 5 week old sleep so well my son (who was born at 31 weeks ) so is now 5 weeks corrected past his actual due date sleeps a maximum of 2/3 hours a night and that is all !!! My hubby and I are currently taking it in turns to sit in the living room with him and sleeping on the couch while he gets his 2/3 hours in his Moses basket then my hubby takes over at 5am so I can sleep till 8am till he leaves for work and this is EVERY night !!!!

I can't believe how big Stanley is now compared to this. With the angel care monitor, do you put the motion sense pad under the sleepyhead in the snuz pod, or under the snuz pod mattress?

No problem lovely! I usually use the ready-made bottles as they are very handy when out and about. But you can also use a flask of boiling water, and some formula storage tubs instead as it can be more cost-effective! xx

Charlotte Louise Taylor You probably don’t remember me, but you did an IG live around the holiday time, you even put a clip in your vlog of it, well anyway, I mentioned that I had just had a miscarriage a couple months before (September 2017), and I’m now happy to report that we are pregnant with our rainbow baby, 5 weeks today!! 🌈💕 My ultrasound is May 9th, so praying for healthy and thriving this time around. Would love to see more routine videos. Can you show me how you position Stanley’s arms in the gro swaddle? I had one for my first but could never work it out and now I’m hoping to use it for baby number two . X
Oh! That’s a good question. I wondered that too when I first used it! I sort of let him pop them however he prefers. Sometimes they are up by his chest - fists to shoulders - and sometimes down by his sides. Or in the X Factor shape! 😂 They can actually wiggle around quite freely in there so baby will choose their favourite position! xx

I’ve been watching your videos since I got pregnant. My little boy is now almost 4 weeks (he turns 4 weeks tomorrow) and I wish I had such a good routine as you have!
My little boy refuses to sleep in his next to me crib, we’ve tried putting him in a bassinet and now we’ve got a Moses basket and he still will only sleep on my chest.
I’m also having to get up every 1.5-2 hours to breastfeed in the night and I’m struggling to get any sleep! Even during daytime naps he refuses to be put down and I have to hold him 24/7.
He’s a really small baby - he was 2.5kg when he was born, so I dunno if that’s playing a part in it and he’s feeling like the Moses basket/bassinet/crib is really big.

Great video, I’m expecting in August! I’ve been told that sleepyhead aren’t meant for overnight sleeping, but does Stanley keep okay in it? Also, where is the Muslin you used to put over the sleepyhead from?! It’s lovely 😍😍
I use it, and I feel comfortable using it, but I don't think I would use it without the Angelcare monitor, for peace of mind if that makes sense? I have lots of friends who use it without though and swear by it all the same! The giant muslin/swaddle is from Little Unicorn! littleunicorn.com/collections/all xx

I gave birth to a 25week stillborn last June so this pregnancy has been really scary! And I think the labour will be challenging aswel but I so can’t wait until she’s here in my arms safe and sound 💙 your kids are beautiful! I love to watch your videos they cheer me up! Xxxx
For baby's bath I use a big muslin wrap... I cover the baby and than I put the baby in wather ...they feel more secure.. 😊🤗😇

Yes! It works really well as the Sleepyhead is quite thin really. And we’ve tested it several times - sometimes by mistake in the middle of the night when we forget to turn it off when we feed him! Panic alert! xx

Such a great video! My second baby is now 12 weeks. My first is 3yrs. I'm currently breastfeeding and I'm starting to get abit stressed about it. I find I am feeding a lot and often saying to my 3yr old "hang on I'm just feeding your sister". I feel like with bottles it's nice that your partner can help, giving you more time. I've tried expressing so that my husband can give a bottle, but it takes so long and I don't get much. I'm thinking about introducing some formula on a regular basis but feel so conflicted... I know you wanted to breast feed, as do many, so I feel riddled with guilt.
Maybe you could do a video on stopping breastfeeding? I.e, do you do it gradually or go cold turkey. Is it painful? etc.

Oh bless you Laura. Firstly can I just say you are doing amazingly well and you should be so proud! I know that feeling well - I used to say it all the time to Bill when I was expressing. It’s not an easy life is it? I stopped a feed every couple of days to slowly allow my breasts to adjust. I took pain killers if I needed them, stayed hydrated and also used a lot of breast pads. I would just suggest to take it slow and drop things slowly if you want to stop. But be proud of what you’ve achieved no matter what! You rock! xx

Hi Charlotte. Are the MAM bottles the anti colic ones? If so I didn’t realise you could use a cold water steriliser? Baby Stanley is gorgeous 😊
Yes they are! I bloody love them! You can indeed use a cold water one. I find it easier day-to-day. But it is handy to know they can self sterilise too for travel! xx

I’m not sure Lauren! I asked my health visitor and she said to stick with it for now as stopping might cause him to wake at another time and be angry and hungry. She said we are probably keeping him nice and calm which is why he is drifting back to sleep so quickly. I’m too scared to try! 🙊 xx
