That is a great location for the hotel! I like that it easily connects to one of the Metro stops. I have found that to be very convenient when I have stayed at different hotels. I agree with you about the prices for staying there. If the price starts getting up to $300 or more, that would be too expensive. $60 for valet is quite high, but I have found the Metro to be pretty convenient in DC especially if I fly in directly to Reagan National Airport. Great review!
Hi Chris. Thanks for the informative video. Not just the room , but the surrounding area as well. Nice that it's centrally located.Since they cater to mostly convention and business type people, not sure if the average traveler would book a room there.
great review, thanks Chris... I loved the comment about the hotel lacking "soul". I have never stayed at the Grand Hyatt, but we stayed at a boutique hotel on Waikiki several years ago, which to me had that same feel... perfectly fine place, but lacking a personality !
It's a decent hotel I'm not sure if I would call it a true four-star hotel though it's missing some things and has a few blemishes here and there. The staff is courteous professional and friendly. I think for an average traveler the location is pretty dang good. I got a Metro pass and sometimes use the Lyft scooters. I'd recommend others use other branded scooters though.
Thank you for the tour. Is there only breakfast in the club room? I see they offer breakfast on the website but is that at another location? Also, those look like twin beds
$42 dollars a day for parking? ouch. Luckily DC has Uber and Lyft pool, there are also lots of taxis that charge by the location and have zone charges so if you stay downtown or around the capital it is very cheap, no need to have a car, I never have a car when I'm in DC. I'm generally in DC every year with family for the holidays, I love DC.
The view looking down at the lobby was pretty weird for me---looks more like some sorta airport terminal or train station you're looking down at... maybe that's why it didn't have the homey feel? :(
Great review, Chris! Those little details that got missed are pretty disappointing. Like many of DC's big conference hotels, if you're in town when there isn't one happening you can find some really great rates. Very date-dependent.
Born and raised in No Va ... it is indeed hot and humid during the summer. So maybe you should have considered going in the spring or fall? Maybe you should have done research b4 you visited the Nation's Capital. Sorry you didn't enjoy our great city. Maybe it was YOU that was rude from being overheated? Good riddance. D.C. prob doesn't want you back either.

What was the camera for your room tour?
In this video I used a DJI Osmo Pocket
They advertise as two doubles. Not two queens
No Tofer score...was Tofer not on this trip?
He said 3 1/2 Tofers.
Interesting!
Thanks Jade!
