What a great video about a great car! I've always liked your reviews, you come off as very informative and the content is very comprehensive without sounding smug or overly dramatic like some other car reviewers. You definitely deserve way more views and subscribers!
Have owned two zzt231 sports m celicas here in Ireland they dont come with a different ecu the codes on the ecu match the same as the jdm vvtli ecu, also the internals (cams and pistons) were a option from when buying new so that one may not have them, also its a trd lsd and you forgot the mention it has a trd clutch and flywheel in it :) the car should have a yellow thicker trd anti roll bar in the front and the suspension is superstrut with green trd shocks with yellow trd springs, the sports m also come with shock tower struts, for what purpose they are i dont no as i think they are irrelevant, nice car all the same i love them.
This Celica lives on and is I believe the first Sports-M registered in Germany. Has had a few small changes and upgrades and is now a weekend/track car
Only 10 bhp over stock VVTL-i but nice bit of weight loss to go with it; easy brake mod over the stock 277 mm discs is an Avensis 295mm disc/caliper set up although even the Avensis 277 mm disc/caliper set up is an improvement because the Avensis calipers require pads which are much larger and thus sweep more of the disc. By a country mile, the best handling cheap sporty car available.
I would pay a lot of money for this car. I love Celicas and to me this is the holy grail, aside from 6th gen GT4's. They don't have these or GT4's in the US, which really pisses me off because the US was jipped. Looking at the acceleration, I can immediately tell how insanely fast it wants to rev. The car just looks like fun!
Anyone know if the TRD Sports M was only made for 1 production year. Like for example: only made for the 2000 model year or was it also made for the other model years 00 to 06?
Best MOTORIng did something like it, but it was with a SS-II. It outperformed the DC2 Type R, but only marginally. It's the DC5 Type R that started to gap the SS-II. Now if it were a Sports M I'm sure it would been a better fight for the Celica name
@@BoomarangComet just saw it...integra was 3 seconds faster on best lap ...celicas were GARBAGE..Atezza was worse...Integra type R was 1st..S2k 2nd..Civic Type R third....i think type M is a better match for the 2 R's
Thanks, the redline is at 7800 but I never take the cars to their rev limit as the owner has kindly let me film his car so I will respect his pride and joy.
hahahah I fount u lool thanks for yesterday I left my celica bonnet open on the motorway u saves my life haha I was driving the military matte celica lol n seen your youtube name and surprising fount u... good work your doing would luv to help and join lol peace out limitlessmoj
Think the UK GT model looks better than this one the m sport looks nice out off the factory looks like this is missing the angel lights and the big rear spoiler ?
Joe Anthing when racing, .anything is a good improvement. It's all technical & that's only acceleration. Think about how this thing handles in the corners. Byebye!
Rare. I think not. Check out the SS-III Celica. If Toyota would of introduced a TRD version in that chassis back in the day it would of surely beat the ITR lap time
+L0RD SPARTAN Hey, I've spoken to the owner of the Celica Sports M and he would like to talk to you. Send me your details to performancecars2.0@outlook.com and I will forward it on to him.
I don't think your comment is quite correct. I am borrowing someone else's car at the end of the day who does want me to take care of it. I don't go around abusing everyone's car, you can't even judge speed in a video very well anyway.
An Asian guy with a British accent....I've not seen that before, interesting. I do like JDM vehicles, but for some reason, they keep putting the steering wheel on the wrong side

Damn 2. I'm in the US. I hope I can get my hands on one when the time comes.
Reliable the 2zzge mate???

Sounds like you have quite a bit of experience playing with the Celica. I will let the owner know about this modification 👍

Love that Sports M. Maybe I'll import one someday. \m/
One of my favourite cars in Gran Turismo 🥰

Have to put it against the Integra type R...need to see how they pair up

@@3v4761 I'm not surprised it went that way! That Integra Type R is quite the circuit champ. Sucks I remembered it differently 😅
@@BoomarangComet the shit is people are making excuses for a car thats GARBAGE...those Type Rs proved to be the champs they are
every single down shift you don't rev match and just force it into gear, why?
nice
PerformanceCars , What is the final rev limiter trd ???? 8200 rpm ?
Thanks, the redline is at 7800 but I never take the cars to their rev limit as the owner has kindly let me film his car so I will respect his pride and joy.
And we do not know ;/
8400
i love this sport m
how much do these go for? i hear the redline is 8500 and hp is 210 hp (in japan)
LOL at him wearing gloves for the drive. Still a cool vid man.
Ye think the same
Does this come with A/C?

Nice vid bro...
Thank you for the comment and support :)
Great internals but that bonnet looks like shit, the original still around?
I thought the sportsM came with a blitz supercharger from the factory?
C-one cf hood❤️
VVTLI not vvti
💓
the 2000 gts comes stock with 180 hp
The TRD Sport M variant has about 10 more hp than the GTS
At 200bhp, it's only 10bhp more than my standard 190. 0.7 seconds quicker. So not much of a difference then!
Joe Anthing 0.7 sec is much
Joe Anthing when racing, .anything is a good improvement. It's all technical & that's only acceleration. Think about how this thing handles in the corners. Byebye!
If I had that for competitive racing, I wouldn't race it stock anyway.
Longer redline so will stay in the lift?
J Anything its is 210, there are more differences that he didnt cover like lsd
is that the 190bhp 1.8 vvti
+easyhit bro VVTL-i. not just vvti.
it's the vvtli 200bhp sports m
Rare. I think not. Check out the SS-III Celica. If Toyota would of introduced a TRD version in that chassis back in the day it would of surely beat the ITR lap time
dude how much you want for it?

+L0RD SPARTAN Other than being rare, the mods don't really justify the slight performance upgrade. Can pick up a 190 for £900 these days.
Has vvtli not vvti
It's a very high quality car that performs as well as you could want it to ...this guy doesn't seem to know how to drive it ...rev it high...!!
